Tie your reef lines around the sail only, not the boom. You will notice the reef points are not reinforced nearly as much as the places on the sail that are designed for lines and to take a load. If you tie around the boom you risk blowing out those points.
I would like to see more of your troubles and labours like loading and unloading your boat perhaps. I plan on getting a boat and doing what you do. Sailing and lake life looks great.
This was December 28 2021? I keep a sailing log for all my outings with notes. I sailed Dec. 25th and 28th 2021 on Lake James, both times in my Cyclone dinghy. Sailed from 2 to 5 pm. I noted the winds averaged around 10 mph for most of that time, forcing me to do a good bit of hiking out, although it was erratic at times. Then it died down some around 4:00. A cold front began its approach as I was docking and the winds began picking up about 5:00. Too bad the front didn't get there a couple hours earlier. Yes, the water was chilly. I wore a wet suit under nylon pants and parka. In 2022 winter came early. The second half of November was like January. Christmas brought lows in the single digits for several days. So I ended my sailing in November and haven't started back yet. Checked the lake temperature a couple days ago: 44
Son of a biscuit! That was an epic sunset at the one minute mark!! Did you get a new camera? It seems like you stepped up your game there Jason! Nice video, thanks for taking us along buddy! ⛵⛵⛵
Grew up sailing McGregor 25, Catalina 22's and US Yacht 36 in Arkansas lakes and Lake Norman NC, Been looking to get a 22 or better and sail lake James as we now live in Mtns. But just haven't found one that was worth buying. If you know anyone feel free to leave me a message on YT. :) Love your video....

Good on ya mate 😄😃 Top Stuff !!! Plukky is a bloody legend 😃😃
I'm pretty sure Jason may have been a pirate in a former life!
Ay Ay argh I think you are right about that!
A "former" life ??? 😏⛵🏴☠⛵
Liked your video, Jason. Your and your first mate look as though you know how to live.

Thanks for the suggestion but my sail foot slides into a track in the boom. I've tried running it untied but my sail gets too much shape.
@@odysseyofjason makes sense.
allways good to watch 👍
Hey Martin😃 Thanks man ☺
Good show, boyo!
😃Thanks Roger !!!

Wish I could get a winter sail in. I see no snorkeling this one- yeah I wouldn't 've neither.
We got lucky with the weather but that water was chilly.

Yeah, finding a sailboat for sale is easy . . . Finding one in decent shape is another story. We got lucky.
Hey buddy cool video, are there places on this lake to keep your boat in a slip or on dry land?
Thanks, glad you liked it 😊 I'm not sure. I haven't looked into it. We always tow from home.
