iKamper X-Cover RTT INSTALL on Toyota 4Runner

In this video, we are demonstrating how to install the iKamper X-Cover on to a 2016 Toyota 4Runner.
We talk about the differences between the 1.0 mounting brackets and the 2.0 mounting brackets, which come with all newer iKampers.
The X-Cover is mounted on to the Prinsu Designs roof rack, which fits perfectly.

I drove the Tacoma. With manual trans. First gear was pretty bad. The 3.5L felt very weak. But I’m at 7k in elevation. Can’t imagine with bigger wheels and tires and gear added in. For those reasons I’m going 4 runner Pro. Don’t plan on modding it except for different tires.
But I do like both👍🏼👍🏼

How sturdy is the honeycomb floor/base of the tent compared to others in the price category? My girlfriend is a BBW and we are probably looking at around 450-500 lbs of weight up top when we go camping.

Is there a way to lock the iKamper to your crossbars? It's unfortunate, a few rooftop tents have been stolen off of vehicles in my area this summer. It looks like without getting inside the 4-Runner and opening up the sunroof you can't easily get to the forward most mounting bracket too easily. Maybe something like a Tuffy 104-01 Security Bolt Lock?

SWFlowseeker I love the Pro series but if you plan to lift it then it won't be worth the money. Get an Off Road and put a Pro grille on it, add a lift and other goodies with the money you saved

Tacoma off road 👉🏼 more payload and more useful. 4Runner has a tiny trunk, useless very little payload capacity.
You can put dirty gear in the Tacoma bed, you’ll thrash your 4Runner if you do this.
I went with the Tacoma over the 4Runner. Love it, zero regrets. My cousin has a 4Runner and 100% regrets it, due to the lack of cargo capacity.

Short answer: Pro is not worth the additional $6-8000K. You can get a ORP and and buy the parts to make it look like the PRO. The only thing PRO has that ORP doesn't is the wheels, tires, and suspension but like Taco Twonz mentioned, if you plan to lift and switch tires, you might as well use the extra money on aftermarket parts. Unless you want the "special", there really is no reason to get the Pro.

@@sfrealestatedealmaker6001 I agree with you. To each their own. Tacoma is great for storage space but I think the 4runner is great for comfort. I will also add to your comment that the 4runner is great for couples with a dog and/or family with kids.

On video it shows you only put new brackets on one side on the tent. Do you only need 2 or all 4 corners with the brackets?
