How To Install The Roam Vagabond Rooftop Tent | Toyota 4Runner

- Camping doesn't have to be laying on the ground. In this video, we show you how to install the rooftop tent from Roam, the "Vagabond". We installed this on our 4Runner which is equipped with a roof rack from Sherpa. Installation is not too difficult but we recommend at least 2 people to lift it up onto your roof. How did you determine location of tent. Forward vs rear of 4runner?
We put it towards the front so it was more stable on the 4Runner. If we put it towards the rear it would be a lot of weight over the rear suspension. We ended up putting a roam case behind the tent. We actually should upgrade our rear springs for additional weight.
Would this fit on the prinsu roof rack?
Yes it will fit.
Will this work on a Trd pros roof rack?
Probably not the best option. That's a lot of weight for the OEM rack and also in order to mount it, the tent would sit really high off the roof. And you don't want a high center of gravity.
@Yota Xpedition one of my coworkers has been using a Thule RRT since 2019 on her TRDpri 4R.
I'd say at this point it's fine.
