i personally ride a 4.3224543345 but ive been thinking of getting the 4.3224543346 because its much easier to catch actually P.J Huston and Chris Rodriguez and Ryan Dyrdek all ride 4.3224543346 anyway
I had the wrong deck for over two years and finally understand why I'm struggling. I'm not quite 5'3" and had an 8 deck. I stood on a 7.5 today and it was effortless
i skated 7.5 for years. stopped skating for 7 years. recently, i started skating again and looked for a new board. 7.5 boards are pretty extinct, everybody is getting 8 and up. even 7.75 is rare.
The other issue with 7.5 or 7.75 boards is how often they aren't quite designed for adult skaters, as in they are literally weaker boards. Going from 7.75 to 8 isn't that much to be honest, you'll get comfortable on an 8 in no time. Just don't expect triple flips you might be able to do on a 7.5 fairly effortlessly to translate directly to a 8 or wider / larger deck.
I skate a 2x6 Home Depot Premium plank with quality roller blade wheels and thunder lites. Sometimes I switch over to my Ripstik when i'm doing big gaps though.
I skated 7.75 for the longest time, and it helped big time on learning flip tricks and stuff, but moving up to an 8.0 was the best decision I ever made. I could still do the same flip tricks, yet I then had more control and stability over my board, especially for big gaps. My shoe size is 9.5 and I now skate 8.125. and I can still do triple kickflips
+Tylqr I ride an 8.75 because it is SUPER easy to land tricks (lol I can land treflips and pressure flips on lock) and fun for skating bowls, vert, and transitions due to the wheelbase being longer.
Aaron you inspired me to skate your my favorite pro out there. I skate a 7.75 just cause your videos inspired Me to skate and your my favorite skater and your videos have taught me to much. thanks for everything you do for the skate community
I'm 6'4" with a size 13 and can't skate on 8 or lower. I tried 8 for my first board, but I couldn't find my balance so I jumped to an 8.5 and it's way better. Glad I didn't go to 8.25 bc it's not much of a difference compared to an 8.
Hi aaron kyro my name is tom and i'm french i'm new on your channel i love watching your videos it's very informative and very detailed, i tried to comle you a 7.62 because i also have 43 shoes i've followed almost any advice from the video made in simple I managed everything perfectly thank you very much aaron
Hi, Aaron. I've used a 7.3,7.5 and an 8.0 board. Needless to say, i learned several tricks with the small boards. However, there was like a optimum when there was pop. If its not there i get bored of them. All in all, heelflips were easier with the small decks and abit harder with 8.0. That's what i have tested.
I wear size 9 and ride size 8. You might think the board may be a little too big but I seem to enjoy the feel of 8. I tried 7.6 and its just a little out of my comfort zone.
Haven't been riding on a 7.75 for a long time and I've been skating inconsistently in the past years, so I might try one next time I get a new deck. It's just .25 inches of a difference anyway.
@@iminyeear2554 not a lot of difference. I would say if you like your flips faster but also your ollies and grinds more stabile, I think it’s a great in-between. 8 is too small for me, but I could never properly do my flip tricks on an 8.25. Plus my only ever podium finish at a contest was with a 8.125 so I guess that played part. Because I killed it that day.
honestly im strange because i prefer a 7 or a 7.5 but thats because i think smaller the board the easier it is to flip and/or rotate the board. but like you said aaron it is personal opinion. most of my friends skate 8. but i have to say that all of your videos have helped me a lot in every day skating. so thank you and keep skating and making videos with lance
My first board was a 7.25 when I was 8 lol. I've gone up and up until I reached what size I found I like best: 8.5. A lot of people think that it's huge but it really depends on what you'll be skating. I've found that 7.75 and 8's are best for street skating. 8.25 is a perfect mix for street skating mixed with park. If your really into park/tranny I would go with an 8.25-8.5 and they still work for street. I wear a 9.5 shoe size.
I have a 7.75 and a 8.25, a 7.75 I feel like I have more control over tricks, but on the 8.25 I feel like its a lot easier to commit on. I pretty much just ride my 7.75 all the time.
Dude we are like twins! I have an 8.2 and have been skating it for years and juts bought a new board being a 7.75 and it spins faster and easier but my feet are used to going wider so i fall when i do big ollies because i run out of room. The only good thing is im landing all my kick flips now on the 7.75. I feel ya bro
Dude Polar decks are sick. I have a really cool deck ready to set up when my current board breaks. My current board is an 8.125 We Are Revive black deck. I might just stick to Revive though cause I feel like their boards are a bit more sturdy.
Tbh, from my 5 years of skating, I've come to the conclusion that Polar, Magenta, Insane and other decks from the same factory are the best overall decks. Polar and Magenta are 100% worth.
I ride an 8.25 but I think imma get an 8 from revive I rode a friend ofines revive board and it was just insane how well it was. From the pop to the flex. I love the blend. Sturdy yet flexible enough for landing and stuff. Can't wait to get Mt own.
i find heelflips easier with 8.25 but kickflis are really hard but kickflips are really easy with 8ghts i have an 8.25 rn but my next deck is gonna be an 8 forsure
7.5 gives me like a x2 higher jumps and feels way more comfortable to me. wish i didn't listen to people saying you need the "8" because of my shoe size. can i transfer the trucks from my "8" deck to a 7.5 deck or do i need to buy new trucks as well if i want to change my deck size?
So I’m new to skating and my current setup is an 8 baker deck with thunder hollow lights reddz bearings and bones wheels. I’m not super good and I can only really Ollie shit but I shredded this $10 Walmart board that was a 7.75 and it was pretty flickable. My only issue was that the board felt like rubber and ended up cracking after gapping a bump.
xD I thought the vs 13 meant a 7.75,8, and a 13 and I got so confused I clicked for clarification but then I just realized it was the 13 episode of versus
im only size 9 1/2 shoe and i skate an 8. but i also like, never do flip tricks and i guess that might be why. i have been wanting to get a smaller board recently and maybe i will when spring comes around and see how i like it
7.625.... Everything else is good like bearings, wheels, the material of the deck but is it too small? Is it just personal preference? I'm okay with it. Do I need an upgrade?
I'm a beginner and I have a question; how can 0.25 inch, wich is almost nothing, makes such a diference in flipping and such things? Or do I look stupdid now ;)
+Stijn van Boxel if we are being totally honest, there isn't a world of difference when it comes to board size (though i bet people will argue I'm wrong) but lets say you can kickflip on your 7.75. Then you can kickflip a 7.5, an 8, and an 8.5 so on, it's more just a comfort thing certain size decks just feel slightly better to certain people. I'd encourage you to try as many sizes as you can just to see what you like.
Since this is the 1st "VS" video I've watched on this channel, I thought you were going to compare 7.75", 8" and 13" decks (wtf) with each other... :'D
Yesssss. People always say it's too big yet I've done a nightmare flip, tre flip, double flip, triple flip, and double heel. I wear a size 12 shoe but I just wanna give proof that 8.5 is not always too big for anyone
I usually skate an 8.5 just because I wanted to have bigger wheels (60mm) on my board for more speeeeeeeed! It just works out fine and I personally think that it is not about the board size but about the way you smoke it
Back in high school, I rocked at least an 8 or 8.25 Habitat. Since then, 7.75 has been my default size. 6'2", size 12.5 or 13. I have been without a board for a while, as I have been all about the inlines in recent years. Well, my Sjados broke, so I am about to pick up another set up. On the fence about a 7.75 or 8, but just gonna hit the skate shop and stand on a couple... WHICH IS WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD DO.
I've been skating a 8 for a couple of months now and I feel like the board is not right and I could barely flip it. Should I get a 7.75. I really want the 7.75 baker blue logo deck too.
8.125 over all IMO. I'm a beginner and I personally find it easier to have that extra lil bit of space to adjust for tricks and land them. I don't find it bulky or slow at all
Me too www.flickr.com/gp/99386466@N07/4862G7 Probably going to 7.6 with my next deck. Then I'll experiment between 7.6 and 7.75. And I like the aesthetics of the narrower boards much more, the proportions are more pleasing to my eye, but then again, I'm an artist... so yeah.
Alex Meulenbeld i sake an 8.375 and my last deck was a 8.0 and dude i just felt on the skiniest thing ever so u know bought a bigger board and im loving it !!
probably, bones reds or super reds (if your not happy with them). After all it's your choice what you ride and that's the whole point of skateboarding right?? To do your own thing and not be judged cause you ride a 7.5" board or and 8.5", I wish people would realize that before they go saying u r f*cked in the head and your board is too big or too small.
+K13Good Well I learned that for street skating and doin' tricks and stuff, something like 52, 53 mm is pretty nice! And I saw somewhere that with an 8 inch board you need like a 5 size truck or something (not sure)
You need 8.0 trucks. Different companies have different measurement systems, but some sites like skate warehouse list them as 7.75, 8.0, etc. You'll need whatever equals an 8.0" truck. For example thunder would be size "147", which is millimeters I believe.
@@david-xp3rs lmaooo. im 20 right now. yea all the basic ones pretty much, kickflip, heelflip, basic grind and slides. got 360 pop shuvits down but i stopped at the tre flip.
It's a huge preference issue, I've got shorter legs and a kinda small foot I prefer a 7.75/7.8 due to they're usually shorter in length as well. However, I've skated an 8.25 at a point and was still able to do tricks but I had to resituate my whole foot placement.
I skate an 8” with size 8 shoes, but I’m thinking of moving to a 7.875 it’s not much change but a little smaller would be nice, I’ve ridden 7.75 and it seems a little small tbh
I used to ride a 7.5 then went to a 8.0 because all the skateshops I went only had 8.0 and the switch from 7.5 to 8.0 was a huge difference for me I hate the 8.0 can't land anything on it and I have to use it until it snaps or a year passes really pissed hope I can adjust
In not sure i am a big dude 300+ i ride a 7 7/5 now and i can pop tricks really easily o have not skated an 8 in so long it seems back when i had an 8 i couldn't pop tricks bit that was before i really focused on skating do you think getting an 8 is worth a try ? Please get back to me
For me all pop shuvit variations and ollies are easier on a 8 but kickflips are way easier for me on a 7.75. I can still do kickflips on a 8 but its just a lot easier on a 7.75 I'm getting a new board soon so what should I do? please suggest answers
It's a bit to late to ask, however I'm a novice at skateboarding and I wonder should i start with the wider board and then switch to 7.75 to do even more sick moves and improve my technique?
well im currently skating a 8 1/2, but when it comes to skating and landing tricks it feels exactly the same (to me at least). the only things i can say are a little better skating a 8 1/2 is 1) almost never have any heel drag 2) its very (how do i put this?) stable i guess, landing on a 8 1/2 feels more sturdy and solid then landing on a 7.75 but i would honestly rather skate an 8 it feels perfect.
I have a 7.75 but i want to get a new board. I don’t know what trucks of 7.75 or 8 are better. Or maybe 8.25. So, can i skate à 8 board with 7.75 trucks?
What's funny is I'm getting back into skating after about 6 years, but when I was skating 7.75 was considered somewhat on the bigger size and I had problems finding them with board companies I liked, with 8's being the biggest possible board you could get for street skating, any bigger than an 8 and you were skating vert. All my friends were skating 7.5's cause all the pros like stevie williams and rob welsh were riding that. Now I see a stevie williams my ride video and hes skating a 7.9, how much things change in a short period.
10.275 but I'm thinking of moving up to a 12

Hellyeahh me to
Do you like it?
I'm 6'3" i wear size 12-13 shoe, I skate an 8" >.
i'm 6'1 same shoe size and use 7.8
I've been skating a 8 for a couple of months now and I feel like the board is not right and I could barely flip it. Should I get a 7.75. I really want the 7.75 baker blue logo deck too.
8.125 over all IMO. I'm a beginner and I personally find it easier to have that extra lil bit of space to adjust for tricks and land them. I don't find it bulky or slow at all
7.75, my friend had an 8 and I let him ride mine and he bought a 7.75 right after
8.25 SQUAD!
jea 8.25 is life
Yo I'm highly considering moving to that size lol 8 I feel is too small for me
I used to ride an 8, went down to 7.5 and now I ride 8.375 😂
8.3~ is best
Cream Crew oh yes please
I don't have a board yet but i'm gonna buy a 7.75
Same
My deck just broke so i Will buy a 7.75
Big or small which one is more suit for playing pipe, bowl, carve ?
8.0 stereo deck
ace 33 high trucks
52 mm oj wheels
fkd grip tape.
shake junt bearings
shake junt andrew reynolds hardware. Whats your setup?
7.5
Me too www.flickr.com/gp/99386466@N07/4862G7
Probably going to 7.6 with my next deck. Then I'll experiment between 7.6 and 7.75.
And I like the aesthetics of the narrower boards much more, the proportions are more pleasing to my eye, but then again, I'm an artist... so yeah.
macheifach Nice
macheifach the grip is too nice to skate on. lol
*****
Haha, thx ^^
Sadly I broke it already. I'll hang it on a wall maybe. Ordered a 7.75.
8's ALL DAY !!!
I skate 8.25 XD
Alex Meulenbeld me too its like the perfect size not too big but not too small
Alex Meulenbeld i sake an 8.375 and my last deck was a 8.0 and dude i just felt on the skiniest thing ever so u know bought a bigger board and im loving it !!
+Alex Meulenbeld same
8.5" boards here.
lespaulzrule how is that even possible haha...to me that's like having an entire continent under me
I ride:
8" girl board
147 thunder trucks
Rush bearings
53 mm spitfire wheels
Shorty's 1" hardware.
Should I replace the bearings?
probably, bones reds or super reds (if your not happy with them). After all it's your choice what you ride and that's the whole point of skateboarding right?? To do your own thing and not be judged cause you ride a 7.5" board or and 8.5", I wish people would realize that before they go saying u r f*cked in the head and your board is too big or too small.
what do you recommend for size 5 shoes???
7.875 #TOYMACHINESKATEBOARDS Deal with it
8.06 gang
I don’t have any friends
u got any friends yet?
what size trucks do I need for an 8inch board? im having trouble finding out lol... and are 58mm wheels to big for street skating and doing tricks?
+K13Good Well I learned that for street skating and doin' tricks and stuff, something like 52, 53 mm is pretty nice! And I saw somewhere that with an 8 inch board you need like a 5 size truck or something (not sure)
You need 8.0 trucks. Different companies have different measurement systems, but some sites like skate warehouse list them as 7.75, 8.0, etc. You'll need whatever equals an 8.0" truck. For example thunder would be size "147", which is millimeters I believe.
I'm 8 foot 2 inches and I have a size 23 shoe. What size board should I get?
+7.75 inch 32 mm Try the 1/2 plywood. I THINK IT'S ON SALE!
+7.75 inch 32 mm Quit skateboarding and be a baller.
+Andy LOOOOOOOOOOL
Just recieved my 8'' deck
I'm 15 years old
4 years later... did you learn any tricks?
david 💀
peppa💀
@@david-xp3rs lmaooo. im 20 right now. yea all the basic ones pretty much, kickflip, heelflip, basic grind and slides. got 360 pop shuvits down but i stopped at the tre flip.
Taehyung Is a ZADDY 💀
The double flip on the 8 looked sexier
8? lol, way to skinny. I ride at least 8.125, even better 8.25 or stuff like that
I ride 8.5 or a 9
+Zachary Boren You're like 10 years old. You dont need that big of a size. Actually I've never even heard on a size 9 board
+Hunter Hodnot size 9 is fairly common and are mostly used for bigger jumps and ramps
....but wayyy too heavy.
A question, what size truck should I get.? 130 mm or 140 mm?
***** Im getting an 8.25 deck with orion trucks and some bearings can you tell me if a 140 mm truck is good for 8.25???
It's a huge preference issue, I've got shorter legs and a kinda small foot I prefer a 7.75/7.8 due to they're usually shorter in length as well. However, I've skated an 8.25 at a point and was still able to do tricks but I had to resituate my whole foot placement.
I ride:
Matt Hensley 8.75 deck
Indies 159
Spitfires Classics 58
POW Grip Tape
Bones Reds Bearings
And just some standard hardware
:D
Please get back to me
Braille skateboarding which skateboard is better the 7.75 or the 8
@Aaron Kyro what shoe size do you have? And are you really driving a 7.75" board?
I recommend starting off by riding your friends boards. Pick the size you like. Or you could even goto a skate shop and try the sizes.
Hey aaron,i have a 8" plan B deck and i find that 7.75's have better pop because of the design ? is that true?
For me all pop shuvit variations and ollies are easier on a 8 but kickflips are way easier for me on a 7.75. I can still do kickflips on a 8 but its just a lot easier on a 7.75 I'm getting a new board soon so what should I do? please suggest answers
Whatev I have size 12 feet and skate 7.75 it's fine like he said it's completely prefrence and what type of skating you like to do
It's a bit to late to ask, however I'm a novice at skateboarding and I wonder should i start with the wider board and then switch to 7.75 to do even more sick moves and improve my technique?
How did it go? I just bought my nephew a size 8. He is just 13 yo. I noticed it looks a little big for him 😕 Not tested on open areas yet.
well im currently skating a 8 1/2, but when it comes to skating and landing tricks it feels exactly the same (to me at least). the only things i can say are a little better skating a 8 1/2 is 1) almost never have any heel drag 2) its very (how do i put this?) stable i guess, landing on a 8 1/2 feels more sturdy and solid then landing on a 7.75 but i would honestly rather skate an 8 it feels perfect.
Hey, I´m actually more into vert but I also like doing flip tricks so I was wondering, is it cool for both vert and street to ride 8?
I have a 7.75 but i want to get a new board. I don’t know what trucks of 7.75 or 8 are better. Or maybe 8.25.
So, can i skate à 8 board with 7.75 trucks?
I'm 12 years old 5 foot 3 and shop size 8 I wanna be able to do tricks should i get a 7.75 or go smaller still?
since im not an expert on skates, i wanna ask a question. What board size should a 5 ft boy use?
What's funny is I'm getting back into skating after about 6 years, but when I was skating 7.75 was considered somewhat on the bigger size and I had problems finding them with board companies I liked, with 8's being the biggest possible board you could get for street skating, any bigger than an 8 and you were skating vert. All my friends were skating 7.5's cause all the pros like stevie williams and rob welsh were riding that. Now I see a stevie williams my ride video and hes skating a 7.9, how much things change in a short period.
I used to ride 7.75 and my shoe is 11. recently started riding 8 and wondering if I should stick with 8
When i buy a skateboard online it says 8 x 31 or sometimes 8 x 29 and other numbers so whats the difference???
