I have this same one, however, every time I use it, it saws “Warning, thermometer overheating” when’s it’s not even at 140 degree Fahrenheit. This does not stop until I turn off the charging dock. Have you ever experienced this?
Never got to trying to calibrate them. The easiest check is to do the boiling water test. Get a pot of water to a rapid boil, pop it in and see if it reads 212F.
How has the Chef IQ doing for you. I saw you really liked the inkbird a year ago which also has some real good black friday sales. Which of the 2 have you found you prefer the most?
I have a bunch and this one I actually gave it to a family member as my search continues for my perfect probe. My use may differ from yours though. It worked just fine was just missing a few things I wanted like a screen on the base.
@@DadGotThis I actually hate mine! You need to give them your email and password just set it up. Then you have to verify it. I’m at my parents house so I’m locked out of my email due to being across the country! I’ve been trying to set it up for an hour and getting increasingly frustrated! Clearly, you don’t need to verify your email just sent this crappy app up!
@regisaddress5833 I have never tried to travel with it lol. I have a new one coming soon that I am REALLY excited about. I could see where that would be and issue.
D-G-T, Thanks for doing the Review. I however do not see any of its advantages versus the ThermoPen Duo, which has an LCD readout on the pen holder for temperature monitoring - without needing to use the app. I also think you would have a better cook result using your Woodfire Grille XL Smoker mode at 200, then Broil mode to finish off, vs. the pizza oven. Raybo in San Jose
I’m willing to test it but for me it is a must have feature to connect to WiFi vs relying on Bluetooth. My house is a signal vault and no Bluetooth unit has been able to be monitored on my back patio from my office where I work. That is the main feature for me. I have no need to monitor it if I am already outside on the patio.
Let me be clear. The ThermoPro Duo does have the same WiFi and app similar to the CHEF iQ, my point was that you can remotely monitor your cook without using the WiFi and app by just viewing the ThermoPro Duo LCD screen built into the base unit. I am trying to understand the advantages of the CHEF unit which are not apparent to me - Raybo in San Jose
@@raynewste-lx9xg I am in no way advocating for the Chef IQ. I have no skin in the game on it. I did not find a thermo pen duo that had actual WiFi not just 500ft range in its own unit. If you could email me a link to the unit you are referring to that would be awesome! I absolutely those the thermapen one instant read and consider it the gold standard. I would say to post the link here but I had to disable links by commenters due to spammers.
Please do a video on how to smoke bacon in the Ninja Woodfire Grill! You did a mac n cheese video 6 months ago and had bacon on Ninja but the video was really on making the mac n cheese. So if you could if your reading this in the future PLEASE do a video on smoked bacon in Ninja Woodfire grill. What kind of pellets do you use? also Does it matter what brand of bacon you use? Thanks! Hope you do this in the future!!
LOL, this was great. Probably every mistake I would have made. Thanks for the honesty and great content!
I am not shy to show my mistakes for sure lol.
Got a 2 pack at Costco today for $35 cant wait to use them on Prime Rib!
You got a deal! Those are great for Prime Rib
I bought one today at costco and it’s 89 bucks here!!!!
Thanks for posting a review. I’m also enjoying my Chef iQ 3 prob set on the NWFG Pro Connect.
Good choice!
How did this probe do when you set the temp to 700? Was it too hot for the ambient part of the probe?
I didn’t get any warnings.

I have not run into that issue.
How do you calibrate the probes? How do you know they are correct?
Never got to trying to calibrate them. The easiest check is to do the boiling water test. Get a pot of water to a rapid boil, pop it in and see if it reads 212F.

@@DadGotThis EXCELLENT!!! Thanks very much!!
Just bought a 2 pack at Costco for $50
Nice!
For $50? I thought I got deal at Costco for $80.
Just bought mine 2 pack for 79$
Ll it round roast what would the English UK call that cut of meat? Silverside or topside?
I believe it is called silverside on your side of the pond.
@@DadGotThis Thanks
The diameter of the probe look kinda thick compared to others(?)
It was never an issue going into meats. The length can make things a little tough on things like thighs etc though.
