Top make it up as you go joinery. It’s how I’ve done loads of bits of my boat like this and it works pretty well most of the time, and if you find you need to change bits of it after living with it for awhile that’s all part of the fun 🤪
Didn’t you have a Bosch Router given to you some time ago. That would be ideal for finishing the cupboard top. I’m pretty sure the cutting bits will be in the box. Regards Towpath mic.

We just had 7+” of snow, plus nighttime temps of 11degrees F, here in the Nashville, TN area. Not typical of southern US. Makes for a whole lot of home coziness. Good idea with the storage. With living quarters such as they are, you really need to become creative.

When I lived in Rochester NY (most snowfall of any city in the US including Alaska) it was colder, but powdery and dry, so easy to push around, even when you got 10' (yes, feet) in a single snowfall. You almost hoped for

If it makes you feel any better…. our overnight temps here will be a balmy -14 C . We were battered by a weather bomb snowstorm last night which dumped 28 cm of fresh snow. Thankfully the ground was bare 48 hours ago. So yeah -1 C …. piece of cake. Love watching how your talk aloud ideas take on physical form as you work through a project. Could you use dowels to hang hang music, maps and coloring books over like they do in many doctors offices. Don't know size of said books, but just an idea. All the best from Missouri.
