  • 7 FREE Printable Templates for grief art projects: danicatheartist.com/project-gr... ... When grief is all you've known for a while, it can be hard to see yourself apart from your feelings, or apart from the person who died.
This collage art exercise helps you distinguish between thoughts/feelings of grief and your identity. Figuring out who you are apart from what you're going through is key to moving forward. It can be messy, but it's totally worth it!

Once again you've nailed the discussion/teaching part!
I find it interesting how you talked through your "noticing" process. Also, I love how the grief side became part of you in the hair. It brings a balance to your profile (like in the color wheel exercise) . Also, interesting that this side has hair and the other doesn't because it caused me to envision you and your dad looking at each other, maybe having a conversation.
This is a great project, thank you for sharing it.

Ooh I love that interpretation! Yes, it's so important to bring fresh curiosity to old familiar emotions. Art helps us do that just like speaking to an old friend.

@@danicatheartist It went well, I had folks who were hesitant but found it to be thought provoking and beneficial - thanks again!

I've found that too - there's a lot of hesitancy (probably self-consciousness) if they're not used to doing artsy things, but once they start, they realize they don't have to be an expert to benefit! Thanks for reporting back!

I have been completely stuck. I haven't done anything creative or otherwise for a couple of months. I'm going to try to do this. Thank you.

It's so hard to create when you're energy is being consumed elsewhere! Don't give up and start small. Things will break through when they're ready. Let me know how it goes!
