How to cross the most dangerous stretch of water in the UK

Large commercial ships entering the port of Southampton have to negotiate two very tight turns to stay in deep water and avoid the Bramble bank.
Small boats and other leisure craft that use this area should know how to stay safe in this area, and in this video we explore the 'Precautionary Area' in the Central Solent, and talk about the risks when crossing the Solent from Cowes to Southampton water.

Also on her last ever call at Southampton the QE2 went aground on the Bramble Bank coming in to Southampton in November 2008.
