How to replace ignition lock with no keys on a 1988 Ford F250

- If you are trying to replace an ignition lock cylinder and you have no keys on an older ford (some other vehicles too with no side bar) you can rake or pick it open instead of drilling
This principal is the same when it is installed in the truck- customer did not want me to film, so I could not demo this while in the truck
This works if your column has a hole (ejection port)
If your model doesn’t have an ejection port hole, then you’ll need to remove the steering wheel, or plastic column

was that an OBS or a bullnose ? I kept raking with no results on a Bullnose (1980-86), lol

Hello does this work on a 1980-86 ignition key ?
It should- if the ignition hole is centered
@@thewhittierlocksmith121 thanks I tried for a while. Do some key pattens just not rake ? Also does it get harder with age, if the lock pins are worn down and slip too freely ?
@@feelvivek yea for sure, use lube like houdini or tri flow- some of these locks are older than i am and there's tons of old grease, gunk and dirt. Ignition may even be bad if it doesn't work. Just try a few different rakes, picks and or jiggler keys
@@feelvivek to answer your question, sorry for late response. Yes some patterns may not work, may need to try different combos of rake shapes
