I won’t be seeing this on ‘A Place In The Sun’. It’s one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever seen. I’m so jealous Sam and Jess you saw this in person. I don’t understand how the government hasn’t repaired this and opened it as a museum? I really hope it doesn’t rot and decay over many years. I’d buy it if I was lucky enough to win the lottery - but that’s only a pipe dream. The introduction, the history of who owned it, the atmospheric music was amazing. You really make excellent videos. Hoping you’re both having a well deserved rest after all your hard work. You definitely deserve it. Thank you Sam and Jess you two are stars 🌟🌟❤️♥️❤️
Someone must be looking after the home..Not a lot of dust. Its totally awesome place .Worth a fortune why doesn't someone patch the roof,?It makes me so angry seeing such beauty left to the elements.I can imagine all the beautiful wood and leather cleaned and polished.Magnificent.👍😍❤️🇺🇸
What a mysterious place, this is the kind of explore one has to experience because the video doesn't do it justice because there is so much to observe. The video was very interesting.
I cannot get over the fact that that place is just sitting there. The family must have a lot of money. Why not sell it at a decent price? So it can be fixed and enjoyed with new memories. It is absolutely amazing along with the furnishing. And the most amazing part is that no one has destroyed it. Which is a really nice thing.
That place is amazing, it's like 2 different explores between the left and right side of the house. I especially like the ornate ceilings and tiles found in the European homes. Excellent explore, thank you both.
There are thousands and thousands worth of antiques in that house! Who has possession of it now? Those things should be preserved and left in a state for future generations to enjoy. It's heartbreaking to think it's all going to waste. Thanks for this fantastic tour of a great house.
Beautiful explore.. thank you guys! Just one thing to mention.. the paper was dated 2002.. so that makes it 20 yrs abandoned, not 10.. which explains the decay better.. Thanks for the beauty!
As a Portuguese perhaps I am not so surprised by the ornements and furniture because that was the type of house rich people would build at the time, with all those rooms for guests and the small rooms for servants. I can imagine that house full of guests, hunting in the property, musical soirées, games while men smoked a cigar and drank a port. All very cinematic indeed! In the local village people would listen to the music of the balls, thinking that the 'senhor' was good enough to provide a job, food and accomodation for the locals. The most amazing thing in this house is the ornementation: how many artisans and artists worked there? A batallion for sure as everything was hand made. This house is a gem, full od history and of stories worth to be described in a book or in the cinema.
Sam & Jess, what can I say. One of your better explores and videos so far. The enthusiasm we hear from your voices is simply brilliant. You do it so we don’t have too! Keep up the great work guys, your warmth is infectious. Love it. ❤️
I think that has got to be the best place you have explored. I just love that country so much. My boyfriend is from Portugal. And those people are the kindest people you ever will meet. And yes they are very very religious people. I'm from USA. And he's from Portugal. And I wouldn't trade him for anything or anyone.Thank you Sam and Jess for yet another Great video. Sam I Just Love how you start talking about the place you are visiting. Plus the music is so very enchanting. Excellent 👍.
Love the history you guys get and not just go from what storys have been told about a place. You have a great time as well as the hassle with travelling all over. Great videos guys your one of a kind. ❤
Thank you, thank you, thank you soooo much for sharing this magnificent exploration with us. This house was breathtaking! So beautiful and so much detail in everything! I’ve honestly never seen a house this magnificent before...or ever will! It’s a real unique gem that unfortunately has been left to rot and ruin once again! But with the beauty and opulence of this place it’s a real tragedy that no one will save it for future generations! Thanks again! I really enjoyed watching this video and seeing such a magnificent unique gem! Looking forward to seeing the next exploration. It won’t be as grand but it will still be great! Stay safe guys!!
We All 💗loved this explore. What a shame no one saves it. Beautiful floors, furniture, sinks, even the creepy part was good. Great Sunset footage, too. One of our favorites Sam & Jess. Stay Well, Be Safe, & we will catch you all on the new explore.👍🏻
Best explore ever. Loved this house, breaks me heart it's left 2 rot. Great job with the video especially the opening video & accompanying music. Sam & Jess well done, carry on. Looking forward 2 more. Luv u guys stay well & take care
From the floors to the ceilings, the walls an through each door, the paintings and molding work, my all time favorite home so far. Massive, beautiful, exciting, and sad all under 1 roof. My 2 favorites, always the art work, but wow those sinks. They had exquisite taste!! I'd loved to have seen just 1 day in there on video. Can you image!
What a beautiful mansion love the design details, the ceilings and floors, the exquisite paintings. You both never cease to amaze me with these extraordinary exploring and locations. Thank you Sam and Jess for another phenomenal video, you both are my favorite urban exploreres ❤❤
WOW! This place is spectacular! I can't imagine what it was like to see in person. The floors, the ceilings, the walls, the furniture and the chandeliers. Exquisite beauty and craftsmanship throughout. It will be a crying shame if this place is not saved. Such beauty should not be left to decay.
Sorry i missed the live. This place should be a museum with all the artist and craftsman work. You don't see that attention to detail anymore. Luv it Sam & Jess Awesome explore!!
the trouble with wishing you could have a mansion like that is that you also have to support the notion of having human slaves/servants, nobody could have or live in or maintain a home like that without them.
Had to watch it twice, cause this place is incredible! I agree, this was one of my favorites! I just love when there is a notification from you two! Much love and respect!
Wow!!! What an amazing place! The murals were beautiful! I really like the chandeliers they were so beautiful!! The hand painted flowers on the door where amazing as well as the hand painted bird! The ceilings were very ornate! I love the spiral staircase! The furniture was so beautiful! The wine cellar was huge! A lot of wine was made there a shame it was all left! Just an absolutely amazing video! Thank you for sharing this with us Sam and Jess ! You really did this place justice in it’s beauty! Excellent job! Love you guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful place! I'm never disappointed with your explores. With the 2002 the place would have been empty 20 years. The older side might have been where he saw patients back in the day
yes, that had me confused, she said 2002 and wow that's 10 yrs, so i wondered if this was an old video, but masks on at beginning, indicating covid times, so must've just been a mental moment she had perhaps
This is another great video Sam. A place like this should be preserved, it is priceless. Oh my God it is a mind blower. To let places like this one just fall into ruin is a crime. Glad you are filming it.
Wow! I want to live in this house! I can’t believe the exquisitely detailed decoration? It’s phenomenal! You don’t see places like this everyday! Thank you guys for a beautiful explore xx
WOW‼️ What a simply magnificent place! It’s so stunningly beautiful that it takes my breath away! It’s by far the best and grandest place I’ve seen you guys visit, so far....and this will be hard to beat!!
Hey Sam and jess. This place is amazing. Never seen anything like it. And being so well preserved inside without all the vandilism. You are so respectful in every place. Thank you for another amazing place
explore the amazing thing, a very luxurious house complete with all the furniture as well as the beautiful scenery around the house area makes me want to occupy the house thank you for sharing this wonderful video all the Best and Success Mr. Sam And Mrs Jess
This mansion-house in Portugal 🇵🇹 was beautiful..the chandelier when you first wslked in...amazing...nice to see this authentic house...very different from other,s in England have , but thats what made it so interesting, i agree with Jess that attic was so cool, loove the staircase...your having great adventures, great memories...thankyou for sharing this footage...filming and introduction trailer was great...you guys 🙂👍...
5:15 Eels, Are you sure? That sounds weird! 11:20 that floor and those skirtings are truly amazing! 21:00 ‘Too much to take in’. How true! 30: 2002 to now is 20 years, not 10, but I’m sure you’ve realised that now! 52:00 That is one hell of a wine cellar! As you say, one serious operation! At one time there would have been a lifetime supply for me there! Definitely one of the best you’ve ever explored! Really enjoyed it!
Just today I said to my guy "we need to paint these ceilings, even with some color", then I view this video and think WOW! Now those ppl back then REALLY knew how to paint ceilings!! and more than just paint!! I've been in this house I'm in now 8 yrs as the one prior to it had a fire and had to be demolished and I miss the Character that the older home had, ceilings in living room had "rainbow" style designs sculpted in, now this house, altho I appreciate having a home, there's zero character to it, just a decent, affordable "pre fab" style house. But don't get me wrong, I am totally grateful to have a roof over my head, as I am well aware many in this world, sadly so, do not.
So excited to see this fabulous mansion!! Just the trailer, perks grand excitement!!! Notification set, and will peacefully enjoy this beautiful explore!!!
Se vede clar ca a fost oarecum curatata restaurat aranjat ca si pentru pus la vanzare .Dar nu s-a gasit client. Pacat de asa frumusete.multumim ca am vazut un vis frumos🌹👍
Another fantastic explore! Thanks! What a beautiful building. Sad the roof has started going though. Been loving the Portugal episodes, the art and architecture are super! Caduceus is the staff with the snakes, two snakes is for comerce and trade, but the Rod of Asclepius is the medical one, though people always get them confused, one snake medical two snakes trade is the correct way around. The Trompe-l'œil (deceives the eye) the realistic painting of wood and stained glass is amazing, there must have been a team of artists in there painting. And the parquet flooring is fabulous. Luggage label Booth Line, probably 1900's to 30's. Sadly I can't see a ship mentioned.Trunks are from that era. May be they were brought from Bazil? Loved the safe, are those four combination dials? From the video, I think that someone local is using the place to do their own wine still. Some of the bottles are not that dusty.
I have a handful of explores under my belt but even the buildings that looked good on the outside have all been gutted, so far. It has become a bucket list item to explore a place that is still fully furnished with everything left behind.
Hi Sam and jess really looking forward to watch your video's in Portugal, great drone footage and beautiful location. This place is amazing and architecture stunning it's very hard to understand why it's left and sadly decaying away due to the damp, also antique furniture just left, this has got to be one of your best video's,really enjoyed watching,do we know why it is left like this,so sad to see thanks for sharing 👍
Someone spent a lot of their time and money on this property, but looking at this sumptuous building, one thought comes to mind, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Fantastic explore! So, my best friend called while I was watching and I said can't talk now I'm in Portugal ... she said Ohhhh with Sam & Jess I'll call back in an hour 😉
Sam has a voice so deep mere mortals need a scuba set to listen to and Jess just seems to glide around serenely.
It’s hard to find people with so much compassion for your fellow man. Stay the way you are. You’ll get thru life a lot easier. Luv you both.
One of the good things about Monday, A Sam and Jess episode!!! Looking forward to it! Xx
What a mysterious place, this is the kind of explore one has to experience because the video doesn't do it justice because there is so much to observe.
The video was very interesting.
WITHOUT FAIL!!💯💚
Just love this music…what is it?
I cannot get over the fact that that place is just sitting there. The family must have a lot of money. Why not sell it at a decent price? So it can be fixed and enjoyed with new memories. It is absolutely amazing along with the furnishing. And the most amazing part is that no one has destroyed it. Which is a really nice thing.
That place is amazing, it's like 2 different explores between the left and right side of the house. I especially like the ornate ceilings and tiles found in the European homes. Excellent explore, thank you both.
It's so sad to see all the beauty being destroyed by leaking roofs.
Absolutely stunning 🤩 It must have been breathtaking to be there filming this beautiful timepiece. Thank you for all your shares.
It’s like a museum…or it should be ❤❤❤
There are thousands and thousands worth of antiques in that house!
I was wondering about that either this was filmed 10 years ago or they got that bit wrong 😄
Beautiful place, thanks so much for sharing it with us. ❤️❤️

I've just seen this for the first time. What an amazing experience. Too bad that at least a part of this can't be restored into a museum.
Bravo once again simply amazing!. Out of hand the beautiful house. I love the wood Thanks 🐟
Ang the paintings. And the woodworks.... Breathtaking
That should be restored!! It’s magnificent
Sam & Jess, what can I say. One of your better explores and videos so far. The enthusiasm we hear from your voices is simply brilliant. You do it so we don’t have too!
Keep up the great work guys, your warmth is infectious. Love it. ❤️
Thank you Sam and Jess for another awesome location! Thank you for all you guys do! Stay safe and positive vibes

The bells chime for those who work in the fields and to keep the time of the day for the village.

Guys that was well good love watching that beautiful mansion. thank you
I have a handful of explores under my belt but even the buildings that looked good on the outside have all been gutted, so far. It has become a bucket list item to explore a place that is still fully furnished with everything left behind.
History, heritage, and incredible wealth lying in waste and decay and being consumed by mother nature. Remarkable. Good explore.
Hi Sam and jess really looking forward to watch your video's in Portugal, great drone footage and beautiful location.
