    What a totally gorgeous home. Another one that makes you sad that it was eventually abandoned. No chance anyone could save it I’m guessing but jeepers, wouldn’t it be nice to just even rescue the furniture?
    Thank you for a wonderful journey through time. Until next time, take care and stay safe.

      Back taxes would be applicable never mind renovation cost. It's too far gone. Needs pulling down unfortunately

    I don’t think they were hoarders. I think over the years people exploring and vandals have tossed everything around looking for valuables. At least you guys are respectful

      I completely agree like possibly someone started packing and organizing after they died but never completed it…

    • @helencheadle5285
      @helencheadle5285 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No….they were not as messy as all that…look at how neat the preserves have been put on the shelves..and ornaments arranged. Would be vandalism throwing what they didn’t want all around. Don’t forget the sisters have been gone for twenty years you said? One mystery to me is the perfect blue hat in the conservatory……if it didn’t belong to you, I’ve never seen such an immaculate hat, after twenty years and not a speck of dust?? That doesn’t work…there has to be at least a thin layer of dust, yet nothing! Explanation please??

    • @erics8757
      @erics8757 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Absolutely right.... it's been 20 years. Other people have messed the house up "exploring" I'm so tired of hearing in every similar video that the people who lived there were hoarders.

    • @frontenac5083
      @frontenac5083 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Correct!
      It doesn't seem like a typical hoarders' house to me.
      (Unless all of us are "hoarders" to the people who keep less stuff than we do.)

    What a lovely home! Second floor kitchen and dining for the kids in the nursery and third floor bedrooms for the servants. All eventually leaving the two sisters to age in place - without much help perhaps. I agree with earlier comment - probably not hoarders but disrespected by raider type folk.
    I’m always amazed by the hysteria generated by spiders - even dead ones!
    Lovely place - especially the conservatory - thank you for the adventure!

  • @jwalk318
    @jwalk318 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This might be my favourite abandoned house I’ve seen yet. And I’ve seen a lot of these types of videos! You guys are by far some of my favourite to watch, u focus more on the things I’m interested in. I don’t even know where to begin with everything I was drawn to in here. Ideally this house would have been maintained, just as it was. People have it so backwards I feel with what they view as quality or worthwhile and beautiful. Those stairs and the furniture are works of art and inspirational! The building is TRUE architecture! Not just ugly cement square boxes with cheap, boring and hideous furniture. I know it’s far too late to salvage it now. It’s jus such a sad loss because it doesn’t have a creepy feel to it or anything. It’s simply gorgeous and full of memories with a happy, homey vibe. I dream of having a place like this (getting it before the damage is beyond repair), first I’d fix the roof and give it rustproof aluminum roofing and make repairs to anything that could get worse if not dealt with immediately, then cleaning and organizing everything, even going through every bit of little pieces of history like photos, papers, books and little mementos etc. then putting them into a safe place like plastic bins, then in the beautiful wooden hutches, desks and trucks for safe keeping for future generations to explore. Fixing anything that needs fixing while sticking closely to maintaining the original pieces and keeping with the original time period when replacing anything. (Finding things at antique shops for example.) I’d take my time going through room by room and restoring it to its original charm before probably adding a little bit of myself into things like brand new mattresses, bedding, curtains and things to make it feel especially comfortable again while still maintaining elements within everything that captures the essence of what you can feel the place was like originally. A house and property just like this one would be perfect to do that with! I also always wanted a larger property with lots of nature, trees, probably a barn or maybe I’d add some outbuildings in an older original style for chickens, a hobby farm. And water close by would also be perfect! I can’t fathom why these places are left to rot!?

    A beautiful place. I believe at one time that it was so beautiful that it was magnificent. Except for the kitchen. But it probably had servants when that place was new. And the garden room is just so lovely, I would have loved to have read a book with a full pot of tea in there in it's heyday. And the stair case, cannot forget that. Just a show stopper. When new I believe a lot of visitors would stop there for a minute or two taking and soaking in it's beauty. I would have loved to have known the full story on this quaint sweet beautiful and once magnificent place. Thank y'all once again for a great video. 😊

    • @frontenac5083
      @frontenac5083 ปีที่แล้ว

      A hoarder? Why?
      Sure, they had stuff, and maybe too much for some people's taste, but obviously the house is in a real state since it's been abandoned, hence the impression there's rubbish all over the place... Because there is!
      But if the property was tidy when occupied, I'm not sure we can consider its occupants were "hoarders".
      As for the books, again they're a little bit all over the place but possibly because some of the shelves have collapsed, and it was really no big deal for someone a little bit cultured to have had that many -- especially before the internet was a thing!

    The sisters seemed too meticulous to be hoarders. It seems that they may have had renters, too--and that would account for some of the damage. In the old days of big mansions, homeowners would rent out rooms to help with expenses and upkeep of residences. Look like there were some squatters there, too. What a gorgeous place it was back in its heyday!!

    Life can also be sad, terribly troublesome! Reclusion and isolation, sometime means gathering the whole past around yourself, in order to preserve "a gone away, joyful identity". The Grey Gardens' syndrome teaches about. Respect the ones who have had such narrow "choices" like that. It's a matter of facts: whoever usually can, at least, judge or knowing all those original and previous home owners' private occurred history? Think about it.

      Indeed!
      Governments have to legislate to force TH-cam to block or even better remove these videos as TH-cam obviously doesn't care about the problem (they're too busy banning other random stuff on their site for nonsensical reasons).

    Dalle immagini di queste case abbandonate da lungo tempo e che una volta saranno state belle ,pulite ,vissute da persone che ora non ci sono più, si comprende la caducità della vita,del fatto che si abbandona tutto qua e molto.probabilmente non c è più nessun discendente degli antichi proprietari e se anche ci fosse non se n è curato.
