I actually love the stormtrooper mini bugout too. It feels so much better with the original scales than the full size does.

I have my Bugout with anodized titanium scales I love it way more than the oem scales love Flytanium
I love my Ti Bugout!!! It makes it slightly heavier but it’s still so light. And it make the knife feel solid.

I tricked mine out with flytanium carbon fiber scales and gold hardware.
I went with micarta scales and love it

Great video! I just bought the mini bugout in white, and immediately ordered the brass flytanium scales with brass thumb stud! Cant wait to get the new scales in the mail and start breaking them in! Love the miniB!!
It's hard to get the blade centered on the Bugout, managed to get mine back to center, took forever, disassembled mine for cleaning, hopefully the one and only time I have to do it. Good video, guys. Thanks 😊

I have 3 ... the Special edition 20cv with Rogue Bladeworks Carbon Fiber scales , A SMKW exclusive titanium scales (not as lightweight as the Flytanium) and a stock CF Elite ! I'm happy with all of them! Excellent fully ambidextrous lightweight edc knives!

my knifecenter smoothe g10 cruwear manix got stonewashed ti scales, full ti screws, ball cage, ti milled clip, and glow in the dark backspacer. It made it my favorite knife.
I’ve always wanted a Bugout but never been fond of the semi-rigid scales. This past weekend I picked up what I thought was the next best thing, the Bailout in m4 with the aluminum scales. I absolutely love this thing! It’s my first Benchmade and I’m infatuated with the axis lock:)

Just changed out my black bugout with copper. Love it! Feels more like a knife now.
I love how lite the CF Elite is but ive been thinking of brass thumb stud, axis lock, and maybe barrel spacers
I like that they milled a path to the thumb stud on the titanium large scales.
I put some Flytanium copper scales on my Para3 heavyweight. They're great.
I have a bugout. Bought the copper scales when I bought the knife cause I love the blade shape and dislike the grivory, and dont mind the weight

I had the blue bugout and went with ntural jade g10 and couldn't be happier with the feel and thew contrast of the blue stud and hardware with the jade scales
The full size Bugout with the titanium scales looks awesome but the centering would drive me nuts. The mini turned out really awesome. That copper looks great on the mini and the centering was great. Cool video once again.
Thinking back maybe we should not have swapped that one since advanced knife bro batoned with it. We forgot to look at the centering beforehand -Frankie
I have many knives. Been wanting a bugout. Finally got it. Was surprised at how small it was. But more so with how light it is. Im very sad all brass scales are sold out everywhere. But my Bugout came with one of the brass washers like glued to the liner and excess glue protruding out. the blade didnt move very well. But nothing a tear down didnt fix. I do wish the blade would close more effortlessly. But Brass scales are my first order once I find them. Would alot like a longer pocket clip.

Tricked out my Bugout as well, the scales (from RSD) make the knife feel a whole lot better in hand, more premium. Just FYI, Flytanium is an american company, but they outsource production to China.
They out source all the manufacturing

Awesome man! I just ordered titanium 940-2 scales. I know it will void the warranty but I heard it's only $20 to get it fixed and 25-30$ for a blade replacement should I ever need one. Do you have any experience with benchmade's warranty?

Nice collection. I put a set of carbon fiber scales on one of mine with a backspacer.
Flytanium just restocked the full size copper bugout scales. The black on copper is hot and it adds some weight to the knife. Just feels and looks good. I definitely did it the hard way and removed every piece of the original kit rather than one side at a time. Oh well, live and learn.

Just bought a dark earth 535 a few days ago, i love it so much, no hard use yet but i have good faith in the S30V steel as my mini grip was S30V but i lost it last week in a car at work, might need to get some copper or titanium scales!
I have a bugout in s30 and a Leatherman charge in s30
And the charge hold a blade way longer

I put flytanium scales on my Proper. It’s a copper Proper. It’s a nice upgrade. I was worried about changing the scales on the bugout, didn’t want to mess with the spring. Thanks for showing me that you don’t have to. Is G10 really an upgrade over the grivory?
Yes. It's generally tougher. Some people don't like the give that the og bugout has. G10 is typically a little harder without sacrificing the light weight that we know and love.
Another nice brand is AWT for the bugout! I got sniper grey aluminum scales for mine and they are so nice! Good price too
I just put copper on my Bugout i changed everything, clip is copper thumb stud is copper spacers copper and pivot screw and the other screws are gold and it looks friggen awesome.
Oh lock bar is copper also. You would think it would be too much copper but the gold in the screws really bring it all together. Wish I could send pics but oh well.

Been carrying it daily since Christmas 2018 love it, kinda would love to put copper scales maybe I dunno if I want the weight though as it is I forget I have it.
I still haven't got mine broke back in/tuned as well as it was before the flytanium scales, before it would drop shut now i can still flick it but its still got a little tightness, i also burned mine to get that blue galaxy look. I really like the feel of the knife after putting them on though stiffens it up and doesn't add much weight.
I love my bugouts thinking about doing this to another one lol

I have been thinking about getting the CU scales for my standard blue Bugout. The TI look sick though.... might have to do that.

I did up my skyline damascus with the black titanium with the dots it's a cool pattern y'all did , and another damascus skyline with Carbon fiber . Bugout and a griptilian with Titanium scales. I got titanium screws from somewhere else but its a pain in the ass getting other screws to fit with these scales , especially the new pivot screw. I wish I would of watch this video 1st I took the hole damn thing apart the hardest part for me was just lining up the washers , the axis was a pain also
I like my bugout with its grivory scales but I’m considering getting some scales for my mini bugout. I got the brass ones for a 940 and I really like them
My old 940-2 had so much lock tight on the center scale screw that I had made a stripped out T6 head because I don’t own a soldering gun to heat up screws. I ended up just giving up and it’s been sitting ever since. I at least tried this before buying scales.
Got the international edition bugout (black blade, red spacers, thumb stud, and handles). Waiting for custom black and red "lava flow" carbon fiber scales for it.
I put the copper scales on my pm2 and had to put the micarta back on bc it weighed more than my liver and way off balanced.
Swapped out the Grivory scales for green micarta!
Love the bugout, I got the cf elite version so the scales are more rigid, but I am looking to add some brass flytanium scales for a better look.

Not sure if you caught it by now but on the first scale swap you did you put the pivot screw in from the wrong side. That will effect the action.
i wasn't lucky with the bugout, i had the red battlewash version and put g10 scales on it. loved the knife until 1 of my omega springs broke not 2 long after breaking it in. now it's the para 3 👍. just wished i picked it up sooner because i missed out on the sprint runs 😔😭

I think the orange hardware would look great in the OD green one, and get some black hardware for the black one so it's super murdered out!
I did the same titanium swap on my blue bugout. Hate dealing w the pivot screw. Took forever to get lined up and thru to screw together.

Acid etching and stonewashing the blades on both those knives would look perfect imho.
You need a satin mini bugout clip to match c3po .... that would match him perfectly.. previously, most people didn't notice his right leg(below the knee down) is silver rather than copper color.
Technically gold rather than copper
Believe it or not, Benchmade won't void warranty on their knives if they have aftermarket scales. They will however require you to sign a disclaimer protecting them from legal trouble if your aftermarket scales end up getting damaged for any reason as a result of the warranty work. They'll email it to you upon receipt of the knife and before they do any work on it.
I have a Ranger Green Bugout, and I'm looking for some anodized bronze titanium scales, unfortunately flytanium is sold out of them. I think they'll be lightweight enough to suit the form factor of the bugout, and match the bronze spacers and thumb studs. I love it as it is, it's a phenomenal knife, but I just want the heft and strength metal scales offer.

I have a VERY strong love/hate relationship with my bugout:
The number one thing is that benchmade NEEDS to change the name to the benchmade EDC or something the bugout just isn't an appropriate name for it.
NEXT is that I own the od green coated blade. I THOROUGHLY hate the coating on the blade. And I feel it causes the blade to be just very sticky.
The next after that us I actually don't like the clip. Its just too small and tears up my pockets I'd rather the longer deep carry clip. That being said I already bought that model so here we are . . .
Even Hideout would be a more fitting name than Bugout.

i use a Meguiars ceramic car detailer on my d2 and dont get anymore rust on my d2 work knives...and i work as a welder in s.c. with no ac. I can rust s35vn in a day in my pocket.

Same here, copper isn't usually my thing but that looks sweet! I may have to order a Stormtrooper Mini and then decide between the copper or Ti scales.
Im happy with the factory ones but i wouldn’t mind to get scales with a bit more wait. Some ppl not gonna like that i wanna add weight tho. Also im too scared to break it or miss with blade play and all.
