    My maggots come from the tackle shop, by far the cheapest way per maggot/or caster, but I do end up with way too many! I swing by pets at home for wax worms because they don't change them out as often as the good shops, so quite often you can end up with moths in the tub, and plenty waiting to hatch out, and a discount... which the mantids love! (not the discount, I don't think they care about that) the other thing I feed a lot is locust, they absolutely love them, and if you give them a bigger tub, and as long as you feed them fresh veggies and give them a drink they last a really long time, and can even start breeding.

    Came here after reading your story on the HAAF competition. Thanks for sharing your incredible journey and I hope you keep going and healing. I entered the competition too, but I hope you win it.
    Your TH-cam videos are amazing. You have so much knowledge! I've kept mantids before, keeping 2 orchid mantis and an Indian boxer mantis through to maturity. It was very rewarding. I wish I could keep them still but my other half hates them. I have subscribed and I'm looking forward to more videos from you

    I recently just found you and I love your videos and the information given. I am relatively new to the mantis world but I have done my research, I have 2 ghosts and 2 orchids. Can I ask what your opinion on feeder crickets is? I've seen a lot of videos saying they are toxic and harmful to the mantids and I don't want to feed anything that would harm them.

    Okay so I have three questions what products do you suggest for checking the humidity and heat of their enclosure, two I don’t have a lot of shelf space and would prefer to have glass cases that goes more vertical than square so do you have any suggestions on where to get things like that or where you got your lantern enclosure and three I’ve heard a different TH-camr talking about feeding her mantis a wasp she found and before that she cut off the stinger with “bug grade scissors and tongs” so are those things I need to get or look for?

    I know you’ve probably mentioned this but are there any specific brands of heating lamps, mats or panels that’s are safe for plastic? Thanks so much for such a wonderful and helpful video 🤍

    now, for keeping substrate clean, as it were, could one add springtails to help with this? (obviously still picking out scraps as needed, etc)

      @aimeesplanet  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, springtails are a fabulous choice 😁

    Can a mantis bite you?

    I'm using curly wings at the moment. I love them but they're kind of expensive, especially as the mantises get older (and you have 8 of them...). Are there curly wing/flightless versions of blue bottles that you know of? My dog barks at flies buzzing. Can't deal...
    Also, absolutely *need* to hear the story of arsehole tripod cat!

      Oh no I don’t not really. Have you tried roaches?

      You can put the flys in the fridge for 3-4 mins to disable their flight muscle and the move them easily for a min or so...

      Worst-case scenario, you could place a white noise machine next to the fly enclosure.

    Hey I want to get an orchid mantis but. before I get it I want to make sure I can care for it properly so how often do you most an orchid mantis enclosure

    • @aimeesplanet
      @aimeesplanet  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once or twice daily depending on humidity levels. Always once a day as they need to physically have misting, to drink the droplets x

    • @aimeesplanet
      @aimeesplanet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So long as it’s 100% organic and doesn’t contain any synthetic fertilisers or other chemicals 😃

      I tend to buy most of my live food from eBay. Find yourself a reputable seller and you can’t go wrong ☺️
