This made me cry. My life has been so upside down in the last year. As a full time nursing student in a hybrid program, going through Covid without structure in my life has been so hard, and it’s effecting my studying and school work. I keep procrastinating, and it’s starting to dig a deep hole in my life almost to the point I’m worried I can’t turn it around. I like how he talks about if you work for an hour, and that if you wouldn’t pay yourself $50 for that hour you worked then you need to be doing something better with your time. All I was looking up on TH-cam was how to make a schedule, but I’m so glad I watched this video.
I literally had a heart to heart with myself about this the other day. I struggle with the symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder and I've always had so much difficulty actually carrying out any plans I make or even sticking to them because I always get discouraged or overwhelmed. I came close to dropping out of college a 2nd time but then I watched this and it only validated that actions I need to take. I may have a little bit more difficulty taking on daily tasks but I know if I just pace myself so I don't feel overloaded, I can absolutely do it. Thank you Jordan Peterson for saying what I NEED to hear!

When he said "never have a day when you're in worse shape at the end" triggered something in me. Even though I know that what I've scheduled in my day will help me grow and progress, I've never really thought of it in that way. They were just things I told myself I needed to do to improve. I didn't think of it as "once I've done these things I'm one step better than yesterday" which motivates me way more to do the thing than just telling myself I need to do it or I've failed.
If I could have my ideal day, I would write, exercise, read, watch a movie, edit a video, and goof off towards the end of the day. The problem, however, is that my goofing off, which usually consists of surfing the internet and watching random TH-cam videos, cuts into other parts of my day, something that I need to work on.

What a great advice! Thanks for the video. You are helping so many people with your conferences, you are awesome and so humble. Blessings and much prosperity in your career.
I do have the schedule and I do have the goals I want in life. It's just that sometimes, you just feel like you don't want to do the stuff in your schedule at all, then regret not doing it afterward. It's been like that for a few months now. Probably what I lack right now is the discipline. Any good ideas to conquer it perhaps?
Maybe your goals feel too big to ever reach, so you get discouraged. Make smaller goals as stepping stones to help build yourself up to reach the bigger goals. Keep telling yourself you can do this and remind yourself why you want to. It helps to have a supporting friend too.
I agree with this video. Scheduling is important if you want to know which time you will work on your projects or life. I scheduled my work using the Connecteam app’s service schedule and it helped me a lot on knowing which to work on and not to work on.
I just turned 41 years old and I'm starting my life over. I had a massive gambling problem for 15 years and lost a substantial amount of money, relationships and health. My question is, is it too late for me and can I still make something of my life?
Its never too late - in fact human being become mature at 40 - you are at the right age to do the things you need to do - probably more than your half life is still ahead of you. Jordan is great! keep using directions like this - do it for just 2 years... you will see the magic ... not only you but you will be able to motivate few others... good luck...
It's not too late you can do it man. I might have the numbers wrong, but it probably takes only a few months of discipline to completely change our lives around.
Ive done drugs and hung around the wrong people for a long time, working at minimum wage jobs always getting fired, quit, or laid off. Now Im 32 and I still get paid from the government for a moment in my life when all I was doing was playing video games, eating fast food, and as previously mentioned, working at dead-end jobs. I got mentally exhausted and I started hearing voices, I was admitted to the hospital afterwards. I was also lacking a lot of social interactions during this time and even trying to avoid them by staying in my house. Now the government money is a crutch for me, Id probably be homeless without this support because Ive made a habit of quitting jobs. Now how does all this tie into the message explained by Jordan Peterson? Simple, successful people make schedules or routines and stick with it. I think no one is afraid of failure, because everyone is putting their best foot forward. Fake-it-until-you-make-it as some say. Sometimes when you do what you want when you want it dissolves into chaos. Some people like me are just lucky enough to see it before its too late.
Imagine what a best day would look like and schedule it” don’t even know what a best day would look like outside of my house. Shit, that’s one hell of a realization.
He's right. I am approaching 40 and I still don't have a career or kids. It is tough to follow a schedule and stay disciplined. But the consequences of not doing that is much worse. The only choice I have left is to do the hard thing and hopefully I'll feel better about myself and be more useful to the people in my life.
I'm arriving at schedule. I feel poopy today, so I was like "forget my schedule". Then I see this video on my avoidance platform and... um........ damnit. ok. I'll stick to it.
"You're not your own servant your someone you have to negotiate with."

Maybe your goals feel too big to ever reach, so you get discouraged. Make smaller goals as stepping stones to help build yourself up to reach the bigger goals. Keep telling yourself you can do this and remind yourself why you want to. It helps to have a supporting friend too.
If its something you can delegate, find someone else to do it for you.
The world is full of resources, identify them and use beneficially.
Pretty much lived this very advice. It works EXACTLY as Jordan describes.
God bless Jordan Peterson
TH-cam gives me the best suggestions of videos to watch 🙏
Jordan: You're useless and horrible
Me: This guy gets me! Haha
This really hit home for me. 😥
Beats the hell out of most motivational speach
Thanks for your help! I do mean HELP!🥰🙏🏾
I agree with this video. Scheduling is important if you want to know which time you will work on your projects or life. I scheduled my work using the Connecteam app’s service schedule and it helped me a lot on knowing which to work on and not to work on.
Life is also about occasional amazing food and massages 😂🙌🏼👌🏼😁💯 Gotta incorporate those and plan for those some of the time
Specify your goals
Accept your fails
Make a schedul ant stick to its not prison
Plan a life you would like to have
All this marketing images about design studios and smiling meetings make me so nervous
Another great message from JP, obviously.
Also... great Audio and overall production value. Well done Team!
The best speech ever!
Yesssss I love these videos please keep them up
God bless you , for sharing this with us!
Unstructured time is my worst enemy...
Good evening!
My crank is turned
I just turned 41 years old and I'm starting my life over. I had a massive gambling problem for 15 years and lost a substantial amount of money, relationships and health. My question is, is it too late for me and can I still make something of my life?
Its never too late - in fact human being become mature at 40 - you are at the right age to do the things you need to do - probably more than your half life is still ahead of you. Jordan is great! keep using directions like this - do it for just 2 years... you will see the magic ... not only you but you will be able to motivate few others... good luck...
@@unext-shakeemgently1056 thank you bro that really means a lot
Keep pushing big guy, you've started already and you're going to make it work, even when you fail in the process
Colonel Sanders started KFC at 65 years old.
Never too late until you're dead.
It's not too late you can do it man. I might have the numbers wrong, but it probably takes only a few months of discipline to completely change our lives around.
Love this! Thank you. ❤
Thank you for watching
Thank you Mr. Peterson
I shedule myself to get up before 3pm most days.
😳🙄😁😞
There is so much valuable information put into a very small segment of time.
Thank you!
The early bird catches the worm.
Your my hero man!
I hope everyone pushing thru we all have are own battles but we got this make ur self proud and focus on ur self
Damn needed to hear this, so true. "You crack the whip than you procrastinate ".
This Man is teaching me a lot nowdays
Imagine what a best day would look like and schedule it”
don’t even know what a best day would look like outside of my house. Shit, that’s one hell of a realization.
I try to father myself by watching Jordan Peterson. Thank you
Time is precious use it wisely , it tends to fly but when your having fun 🤗☘️🌈
It’s all about getting responsible and looking at your excuses but finding solutions for them
This is helping me.
Thank you for posting it
1:04 it’s happening to me now and I’m 21
I’m 49 and still have goals
Godlike
This video really is amazing. Amazing message simplified and easy to understand for a person that has no schedule.
The music in the background really gets me going !!!
