Thank you PlayStation for making a controller for people with disabilities!
It will be a real win if it actually works for the PS4. But why would Sony do that?
@@blackstar-genXFor help
@@theghost6618The PS5 is backwards compatible.
This will be useful for my ranked teammates ❤
Ik this will prob be expensive but its going to be great and this video proves how much thought went into this.
Imagine having a sibling with a disability, they could never play the game with you. Then you guys open this on Christmas morning, thats the kind of joy accessibility creates.
Ik this will prob be expensive but its going to be great and this video proves how much thought went into this.
I know right Microsoft did such a great job but cool sony finally did it aswell
Priced at 89.99, so even the price is accessible.
The fact that you even thought about the packaging and made that accessible is just ❤
This seems very thoughtful. I mean yeah probably not gonna be cheap, but having options for people who need it is nice.
89,99$ not too expensive, I think it's a fair price.
It's not that much more than a standard dualsense and given what it can do, I personally think it provides real value for money
@@xfa93Yeah that's probably fair.
Quite inexpensive actually.
The PS4 needs an update to support this thing.
Great design, it shows that they have invested a lot of time in its development. an incredible year for PlayStation to have all these accessories and with such spectacular designs
As a person who is physically disabled I see this as a huge win
I know right Microsoft did such a great job but cool sony finally did it aswell
@@LayerZlayer2000I can't tell if you're a bot or someone with an extremely sad life.
Dude I ain't even disabled and I'll use it this controller looks kinda cool
Fairplay, this opens the door for many new gamers to enjoy gaming or give disabled gamers a better experience, credit to playstation for doing this
I know a guy who was born without thumbs, and he used to be aggressive to his son in gamestop because he would buy video games and he couldn't play them. This just feels made for him. Hope his son surprises him with this.
Yep, it’s long overdue actually.
Why even dislike this video man? It's opening up the world of gaming to so many more people to properly enjoy and experience so many stories and worlds. That is amazing! Great job to the whole team that made this possible. It might not seem much, but you're genuinely changing lives through this
A possible could be the amount of r and d cost along with general costs to bring to market a product that will sell in very small numbers relative to the ps5 install base could eat up costs that would better serve a far larger percentage of the market who already has invested and owns a ps5 like a possible price cut or improved battery life duel sense etc
Why even worry about that, people just click dislike for no reason, it doesn't matter
Probably cause for a controller like this, it's missing the most important thing for something like this. Modularity. With only 4 ports, there's only so many things you can do. It really needed a port for every single button, the touchpad and motion controls. Cause all of these can benefit someone depending on the disability. And sony trying to make one design for all is going to limit a lot of people.
Microsoft's approach is a lot better, but more expensive for the accessories
@@teneesh3376 This is certainly one of the reasons - Xbox's Adaptive Controller is covered with ports to allow literally any kind of setup anybody on the planet could want or need. Sony is late to the game with this product/it really comes off as super reactionary, very "We only just started thinking about this when Xbox released their completed accessibility product", which feels disingenuous, but also, yeah - even with a fully completed, competent, incredibly versatile on shelves from a competitor, Sony somehow managed to make an inferior product, and it looks like they prioritized style over functionality.
@@teneesh3376atleast it's something better than nothing and I'm sure they'll update this in future
For those living with functional disabilities, this opens a recreational doorway. For some, especially when it involves healing after an accident, the PT/OT work invested can be very demoralizing. This can help mitigate frustrations when having to relearn life. Hopefully for Sony, some of the design cost can fall under the cost umbrella of a retooled, redesigned arcade stick having been modified and adapted for a specific audience. Microsoft did this several years back. I understand businesses exist to make money, and that a controller design for a very specific audience might cost more in design work and tooling than it's profit in revenue. But for the auidence this is marketed to, it's a very nice pick-me-up.
This is brilliant. I'm almost in tears. Thank you for creating this, Sony. Now so many new gamers can enjoy what we all take for granted.
I can't find confirmation anywhere, but I really REALLY hope this works with the VR2! Having limited dexterity in one hand makes the majority of VR2 games near impossible to play.
Such a beautiful design and amazing to see a controller that can be worked for any type of hand combignation, I have friends who struggle with the normal controllers so shared this with them right away!
Kudos to the people at Sony who were involved with making this (accessible controller for people with disabilities) a reality!! Anybody who wants to should be able to get the chance to play!
One of the biggest W PlayStations has ever had tbh great job!
Well done Playstation, it is important for everyone to feel included
True well done Microsoft and sony Afterwards
Thank you PlayStation for this. This will help lots of people like me. So thank you so much ❤
Thank you PlayStation, you are amazing for developing this! Thank you for showing that the community can be so much more and bringing people together. You earned every smile that this brings. I'm definitely getting one, my dad's disability extends to his hand dexterity and this would be amazing to finally play racing games together.
So true Microsoft did so much effort for this whole thing cool Sony also made one
I’m looking forward to using this. Have an acquired nerve damage to my right hand which causes pain spasm and locking. So glad I can use the left hand to play button intensive games without landing myself in the doctors office again.
We're all one bad accident from needing this.
And watching Let's Plays won't cut it.
Great work.
this is very cool and all but i believe that gaming companies should do more of this but because i am blind the assistive controllers aren’t what i need to play, i would like to have more and more game developers make their game playable not just from the control schemes but have the options for the blind from the start of the game be able to use a screen reader and other blindness settings for audio and such. hopefully one of these days everyone with a disability either blind or those with limited mobility can play in harmony with others whom don’t have such disability.
How can you play a game if you are blind? Honest question I'm not even trying to be funny I'm genuinely curious
The flexibility and customizability of the controller really demonstrates the amount of UX research they did
Wow I don’t have a disability like this but it’s so kind for you guys to make this for people who do! Thank you PlayStation!!
This is the most stellar thing ever done by any gaming platform. Sony & Playstation is galaxies ahead of the rest
Agreed 👍💯
Kings of gaming!
Xbox did this 5 years ago
Can only agree the Last sentence is for xbox
@@LayerZlayer2000 at the same time when it comes to game library & history, Playstation is the bar. We must remember Sony has been doing electronics & entertainment since Bill Gates was in kindergarten
1 word -> " RESPECT " ❤
I know right Microsoft did such a great job but cool sony finally did it aswell
@@LayerZlayer2000do you have like a really sad life or something?
This is huge, thank you so much for making gaming more accessible to more people!
This sounds excellent. I do have one on pre-order as someone from the visually impaired community. My question is will there be braille on the controller? I think Bill would be a great asset when it comes to the blind community as a whole I think that’s one thing that is missing on the game controllers in general
Or at the very least, textural differences in some button faces, kind of like how keyboards have bumps on the "home position" keys
@@PredictableEnigma
Very much agree
but how do blind people play games if they can't see? I'm just curious, because I imagine that someone who can't see the buttons on a controller won't be able to see what's happening in a game
@@sirradezvisually impaired doesn’t necessarily mean fully blind. If you look at the disability options in games you’ll see they have settings for people who can’t see well. There’s also audio description
This is amazing 🤩.
Thanks to All involved.
Fyi. It's listed for $89.99 here in the USA. Not sure how much that price will change internationally.
Probably a bit more here in europe, but not much more. Fair price I think :)
Wow, very very SMART!!!!
I know right Microsoft did such a great job but cool sony finally did it aswell
Very nice👍👍👍
This is actually really nice and thoughtful, salute, you have my respect
This means the world to me
I just got mine last night and I’m already going ham on it . I can already see it being so so helpful
Thanks PlayStation!
This made me real happy!
This is going to be awesome and give those a chance to play games that everyone can experience!
It's fantastic that the accessibility has been thought through right down to the design of the box it comes in.
I like a lot Alvin. He is brilliant, the man behind this masterpiece access controller. And his charisma like a super star.
Life is gaming! 🎮🔥
Gaming is life! 😂
I become more intrigued every time I see this controller!
Absolutely love ideas like this!
Innovation with a positive purpose...
thank u and respect for these people
Great work on this must needed it product! I will help so many people enjoy the great games you all make!
This is very cool. Great idea
Fantastic. Great job.
Incredible. I'm in tears. Very thoughtful. Just wonderful.
Can already see how this is useful not just for the disabled community, but also as a prototyping set for new interface design
This is beautiful !
I have shoulder pain when playing because the Dualsense controller is too small for me. I'm buying two of these so I can spread out my arms and hopefully play without pain.
Despite I don't need it I praise your efforts to include everyone in the joy of gaming. Thanks to all who made this possible! 🙏❤
This is what “Play has no limits” actually is , Thank you PlayStation
I hope we can use two of them on PC side too!!!
But don’t you need 2 joysticks? One for camera and for movement?
This looks fantastic. I hope a version for PC is made.
Wonderful
That's beautiful
This is great for those who have lost a limb or fingers. This opens the door for many. More so than we could ever imagine.
4:35 but there are 2 controllers I guess you can use 1 hand for 2.
I know right Microsoft did such a great job but cool sony finally did it aswell
I have the xbox adaptive controller and it opened the world of Xbox and Pc gaming to me. I am so happy that Playstion has stepped up to I love my PS5 but it has been hard at times to play some games. My fiancée pre-ordered the Access Controller for me and I can't wait to get my hand on it.
That looks cool asf
Beautiful.
This is amazing ❤
Nice!
As someone who has severe arthritis in their hands, thank you!
I'm looking forward to making new gaming friends no matter there abilities. Arm are wide open & Giving out free high fives and fist bumbs 👊
Awesome
Looks neat:
That’s awesome, but how do you play any game that requires use of two sticks?
wow this is awesome!
SONY ❤️ 🇯🇵 👑
I know right Microsoft did such a great job but cool sony finally did it aswell
It is ok, but how do you use it on games with two sticks like shooters with only one hand?
It is amazing that Playstation did this.
It is a bit expensive but I am very happy this exist.
Everyone should be able to play videogames and I hope Xbox and Nintendo follow this trend.
Nice move !!
This is great
Nice but im kinda shocked it has taken this long i did often wonder how somone who lost a hand or arm could play games
Usually keyboard
I know right Microsoft did such a great job but cool sony finally did it aswell
@@LayerZlayer2000 im thinking before ecen that . More like snes ps1 era it when this should have been being worked on . Ideally sooner but that period would have made most sense
I personally don't need this, but f**k yeah!! make gaming more inclusive.
Please add opacity and scaling option for voice party live caption
Regards, deaf person
Fantastic
Biblically accurate ps5 controller
That is very beautiful for special need person.
What games can you play with one stick? I need to see someone actually use this. It's advertised alongside single player games like ratchet and clank, HZD and GOW all of which require aiming and shooting. Usable with a ton of games still though so it's still fantastic that this has been created.
Fantastic, if it gives the ability for people with disabilities to play.... I'm getting one, and I don't even have a physical disability. 10/10 Sony, almost brought I tear to my eye.
Wow. I have Parkinson’s disease and struggle playing sometimes. This commitment to disability from PlayStation is impressive
Está disponível no Brasil?
I like Brazil
As someone with disabilities this is great and I want to buy it but I’m curious, it only has one analog stick so what about the other one? 😅😅
I don't need it but I want it.
Gaming for everyone
There are still people who are potential gamers who cant use even this product
I think PlayStation deserves around of applause👏
Firstly, Congratulations Sony 🎉👏👏👏🤝
I'm a regular 'able bodied' gamer but i absolutely love you guys even more for this... 🤗😘
Out of curiousity i might get one for myself, see if it can improve my overall experience, perhaps for 3rd person games/MMORPG's and maybe fighting games like Tekken could be more suited to these🤔
The DualSense is still the King of racing and FPS tho😊
A Blast from the Past

😔💥 WHY ISNT THE ACCESS CONTROLLER WORKING TOGETHER WITH THE PS PORTAL(like normal on PS5?) 💥😔
This honestly could be like an arcade stick for fighting game players! I am sure the community can mod the paddles to their liking with 3d printing etc
Leonardo DaVinci ❤
How do u work with this controller so easy.
It’s for people physically unable to use a controller
Tnx for the feedback.
Até agora eu tô tentando entender esse controle 😅😅😅
Hello thanks for everything.thanks of Sony for this i love Sony.i love Japan.
Is this the new arcade stick for fighting games?
Hi guys, do you think this controller works for people who have only one hand to play with? Greetings from Germany
🎮💙
Maybe try and fix controller drift next €80 on new controller every 5months
Bravissimi Sony!! Complimenti! 🎉
