- Known for turning a sofa in the Boca Chica SpaceX office into his bed, Elon Musk, The World's Richest Man, took it to another level when he announced Tesla's $10,000 sustainable unboxable moveable home. If you are remotely familiar with the Tesla CEO, you wouldn't be surprised that he is building a sustainable home. So, how did Elon go from overhauling the tech space to completely disrupting the real estate industry?Well, it all started with this tweet from 2020. At the height of the pandemic, Elon Musk made this insane announcement.

My guess is government regulations. That and some States don't allow people to live in most areas unless they are connected to the grid. Land of the free, right?

Clayton Homes (largest mfgr home builder in U.S.) was only built a little over 60,000 units in 2023. That doesn't move the needle enough to make a difference.

Those affordable homes will probably be in the new 15 minute cities so they can get as many (Guinea pigs) people that they can control every move you make. It will be so convenient and nice in the beginning then turn into a nightmare.
The government will be able to turn off all your smart system devices including locking you inside for curfews and pandemics, lockdowns and climate control lockdowns, etc.

the funny thing about this is he COPIED other companies who have been doing this ALOT LONGER .... you can get a 40ft capsule home with bedroom bathroom kitchen an living room with a balcony for 20k-65k..... that will be alot better than this

As a former Tesla owner, If it's from Elon Musk then it's a $10k home but it's gonna be another $10k for indoor walls and another $10k for painted walls, and another $20k for cabinets, but those will come 6 months to 6 years later. If there's one thing he's good at it's giving big promises early on to get people interested.

Taking a page from Steve Jobs, claiming to be “innovative” for bringing other companies’ ideas to market with just a tiny bit of added polish.
Because everybody could afford one and become a homeowner. Talk to your insurance agent and you will see that what you pay for a house with all the taxes added in and what it can be replaced for if damaged is about 100,000.00 less depending on what you paid for the house. When property values went up we thought we might need more coverage but what they told us is what I mentioned above. A house like this for young people or the elderly people is affordable and they can become homeowners and the the government wouldn't like that because all their housing subsidies would go right out the window. This could also be put in as in-law quarters on your property. Plus it would be next to nothing compared to renting a apartment or house. Houses at this price could get people out of poverty, get people off the streets and make people have pride of owning something even if it is just a starter home that they can build equity in. But, then why would we need a over bloated Federal government for? The Federal government doesn't want you to succeed. I think this is the answer to many issues married couples starting out face, people who cannot afford to rent a house or apartment or simply someone who wants to get out of their parents basement.

Real catch(es) are concret pour, local permits, water, electric and sewage connection.

Kind of interesting how they keep mixing up images of the Boxabl product with a towable tiny house that we cannot see inside of, but only hear increasingly bombastic hype about...which is on brand.
$ 10.000 is an unrealistic price. Just the solar panels, power walls, inverter, car charger and other electrical fixings would probably amount to that sum.
I believe $25.000 would be closer to reality.

Taxes depend on your state. In mine it’s 0. Shipping would be trucking plus foundation and utilities and setup. Check with your planning board.

Banks in many states will let you wrap all extraneous expenses in the loan; ie land, foundation, permits, utility hookups, septic tank system etc. and still extremely low payments.

When they said control it with a app on the phone. I instantly felt the need to become bob the builder. A kid show my son watched when he was little. The dream home is hemp. It doesn’t mold or burn or grow fungus. Which is a real problem in Tennessee and other jungle or moisture rich states. If we had built homes 🏠 of hemp a 100 years ago the housing market wouldn’t need so much rebuilding.

I’ve followed the tiny house movement for years. The price of this house is perfect, but if you ever do/did any research over the years you’ll know that it’s a real NIGHTMARE finding a place to put one now!! The state & local governments started changing ordinances making it impossible to find a place to put one and in some places you can’t even put one on your OWN land. Banks, corporates, governments, ETC hate the sustainability of the tiny house. Bottom line: just like everything else…it’s ALL ABOUT THE MONEY 💰💰 and surely it’s not YOUR MONEY we are talking about here‼️🤬

Is this a $10,000 home for $50,000? I think this video should be honestly titled. I don't mean to complain as even a $50,000 home is what some people pay for their automobile. Amazing! It's what makes me like Elon but for me he is for sure a mixed bag. If I'm 70 and never owned a home before, could I get some kind of a payment plan through his tiny home company? I wonder why they don't say how many square feet or what about fresh water supply... but it's easy to complain, just wondering about the real cost. Is there with the foam insulation any toxic off-gassing? I wish they had a different form of organic insulation.

The future of housing is here. It starts with expensive models like the EV Tesla and will get into mass production from China, so that it will actually cost 10k $... As to plumbing and sewage... There are many possibilities to adapt the module to the environment even to go off-grid, which is my goal. Elon Musk is a pioneer, dont forget

I don’t know why they’re calling these houses $10,000 houses I went on line and they start at $60,000. And then you’ve got everything else that goes along with it so by the time you’re done with these houses as nice as they aren’t as awesome as they are, they’re going to cost the same as regular house if not more

We are sourcing means and partners to get homes for us. Our government has a housing grant for 1st time owner and that can be incorporated in any plan that can solve the housing peoblem in SA. Don’t like Musk but do like this product. Wouldn’t it be great if your local council (UK) sold or rented you a suitable hard standing that you could park your new tiny home on. Then if you needed to be in a different part of country of even in a different country in Europe you could take your home with you and rent hard standing from local authorities . My only concern about portability of home is yes it collapses into a compact unit but what happens to furniture and all the things one would have in a typical small home like clothes bedding kitchen ware etc. Do they have dishwashers and washing machines? Do they have incinerator toilet or something else? Do they have air con/dehumidifiers important in a small space. So many questions and not a lot of answers but very interesting we just need places that affordable for people to purchase or rent so governments need to get onboard. Obviously health and safety paramount but I love idea/concept.
Only thing id say is keep black rock out of it. They might try to buy them out like they are with the real-estate market. 😵💫😵💫😵💫 give little guy a chance 😁
