      @@serviceshoptoday there is a lock in date on your order. Once that date passes. They start production on ur trailer shortly after. Also it’s a Diamond C policy is what I have been told by my dealer, that is why u can’t alter ur order likely. They don’t want an order started and then changed halfway through. This can add a massive amount of extra work if someone were to decide they want longer frame or heavier axles etc. your dealer should be able to login to the diamond c portal and tell you what your lock-in date is. I’m no expert here, but I’m going through the build process and waiting for my trlr to arrive also but all the info I just gave came from my dealer direct. Hope this helps explain why your getting the answer you got.

    People commonly call them "Oil filled Hubs" when the actual term is "Oil Bath Hubs". You only need enough for the bottom of the bearings to be covered in order to splash the oil. It's usually the same guy that overfilled them that complains that they leak.

    My reason for running grease on my dump trailers is because when loading with a skid steer if I bump the older style plastic sight hub cover it would crack, sling oil all over, possibly leave you without good brakes and maybe lose a bearing. If I bump the metal cover on a greasable axle not much going to go wrong.
    I'm curious how the new style caps would hold up to a bump from a skid steer.
    I have 3 of your trailers now. I'm a fan of the product, company and the way you work at giving your customers good information through videos like this.

    Wish you would have explained on both axles how the rotor is attached. On the lightweight is is just sitting on the studs and can just pull off when the tire is off? On the heavy axles how much do you have to tear down to replace the rotor? How is the rotor attached to the moving part of the axle, and how is the caliper attached to the axle? Might need to make another video to show us how they are made and how maintenance is done.

    You should make the tongue on your gooseneck trailers 8 foot so the hotshot people can buy your 40 ft trailer and not be over length for all the length laws of 65 ft overall. I will say that is what kept me from buying one and I really like your trailers. Just a suggestion.

    My question is does your disc brakes have indicators on the brake pad so when the brake pads wear completely down they start making a squeak from the indicator telling you to inspect your brakes.

  • @hammahdepartment5667

    The 10k axle option…it only has drum brakes as an option, just wanted to triple check and see if it’s possible to do disc brakes on the 10k axles

    • @diamondctrailers
      @diamondctrailers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never hurts to check. It’s not available on 10Ks because of the size of the hub and caliper it constricts bed width down to a largely unusable width.

    I personally only put on a few thousand kms or miles a year. Grease is my go to. Probably something to do with tire diameter and axle flex why grease does better on smaller axles.

  • @lisandrofernandez1503

    Does this trailer came with the manual and maintenance guide like every how many miles do we have to change the oil on this hub etc?

  • @jonalvarez4790
    @jonalvarez4790 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The thing I hear most about grease vs oil is on the single wheel axles the wheels flex a lot while turning and breaks the seal on them pretty often. I just ordered a trailer with 8k axles and I'm assuming oil hubs so I'll find out for myself

      Hi @@scottarvidson8585, 2.0 is expected to go live some time this fall. With all of the supply chain issues this year new product launches have been difficult to get into action so unfortunately we don’t have a pinpointed date yet, but I can confidently say it’s not going live in August.

      Yes u can. It’s part of there build your own trailer process. Just don’t be dumb and buy trailer and then add lights yourself. Diamond C comes with a 1 piece sealed harness. At least if you ever see salt on ur Roads I would keep that harness integrity intact.
