I just love that his name is INSECT MAN and the only thing emblematic of that is the very small symbol of his chest. Don't get me wrong the reason he don't wear a mask is actually super heartwarming(especially when you realize a lot of the irl heroes these characters are based off of would say that dressing up isn't necessary to help people in need, so that's cool) but it's just the idea he had his heart set on being INSECT MAN and didn't even lean that hard into it. And he KICKS ASS too, pun intended.
Jim needs a origin story for this character, last 1/4 of the movie just him going off like this this then, a promise sequel to it thats just way over kill and outta this world funny and dramatic.

To be fair, KA2 did cross the line, more than once. The scene with the russian lady launching a lawn mower into a couple of cop's faces was really bad, for example. It was stuff like that preventing me from watching it again. It was too much.

Nobody talks about the dad in this movie. I know hes not the focus of the scene but hes a great guy in this movie and i like that for the sequel bc he was one of the few very surface level characters in the first film. Hes great in this one and it actually makes his death super sad and impactful at least for me. Jim carreys too but i just wanna show some love to Garret Brown and HIS character who i came to really like

This movie wasn’t as good as the first but it had some things about it that I genuinely liked... for example I really loved the movies emphasis on hope and optimism even in the face of such cruelty... This scene pretty much encapsulated that theme. Then the sub plot about KA having his life so drastically changed and wanting to just give up but eventually finding the strength at the end to keep going. And HG just excepting who she was and leaving it all. For a comedy action. It actually has a lot of deep themes and narratives. More then what I can say for something like Deadpool.
After watching "Number 23", I got the feeling that we've been robbed of so many great performances by Jim Carrey in serious roles through his continous typecasting as a goofball...

Interesting fact: this movie put a nail in the coffin for Jim Carrey to never do another R rated action movie that's insanely violent. The Sonic movies are his comfort level because his character is a villain with weapons, but generally still a kid-friendly character who's mega goofy.
