A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine - distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man - but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Man i wish the suit lady came back in the future movies. They went through this whole thing with Peter getting along with this AI and confiding in her and then she just doesnt come back ever.

There was a fan made story, FanFiction, of Karen still knowing Peter is Spider-Man, since she’s a AI. It was an awesome and sad story. It was after Strange did the last spell.

He is smart enough to build one of the most complex device on earth, you can't build a web shooter that can work 100% like he did. No one can. We only gotten as far as a cheap knockoff device that works more like a grappling hook.
But he's dumb when it comes to outsmarting his enemy, the first thing i thought in this scene is to take down the wingsuit while he's distracted. I was frustrated when he didn't, but then i remember, the guy didn't really have that much battle experiences, so it makes sense, he's a kid.
To be honest, if there was no ceiling when you last looked, would you expect there to be one the next time you look?

Other than. The powers and saving countless lives. I always feel bad for Peter, he got his teenage life took away from him and left with such a big responsibility. Although the city and the avengers need Spider-man people also need Peter Parker. I always think who would he be if he was never bitten by that spider Peter was always a genius.
There's actually a comic book where flash kills the spider before it bites Peter when hitting him. He eventually ends up stumbling on a crime scene and ends up helping someone else (can't remember who) to take down criminals through his tech. Basically he always becomes a hero or does good in some form
What you explained is why we all love spidey, hes a regular person and has taken the brunt of the world cause hes just that dude. I love tom holland as spiderman and I grew up with tobey.
I think it's his destiny to become a hero, If not from the spider then some other way.

One thing I really give to these movies. They consistently present Peter willingly foregoing fun experiences and face time with crushes to go be Spider-Man and stop whoever.

I think the beauty of the first trilogy is that we arent quickly told "with great power comes great responsibility"
We get to see in 3 movies just how irresponsible peter is with his powers and even his good intentions.
It hits home much deeper because we ourselves lost tony right with peter. That hits significantly harder than the same ol uncle ben dies storyline. We get basically no time to care as much about him as peter does.
Hell we all knew ironman before peter was even in the mcu. That relationship with the audience is stronger.
We get to see peter living comfortably knowing ironman or the avengers will always be there. Now it's all ripped away, and he must figure out who is spider-man truly.
Even more interesting is tom's peter's choice to try and kill goblin.
He was TOLD the famous quote, but he obviously at that point didnt heed those words.
If they play their cards right, the theme of the next trilogy should be peter struggling to implement what May told him; him being pushed to the brink and choosing how he will define his heroism.
Put the black suit in there too and you have a perfect recipe to convert tom to PRIME spiderman with all the traits and quips that we know and love.
The first trilogy, intentional or not, was the perfect setup for this, and I am on board for what they have next!
My only concern is the secret wars stuff getting in the way of this beautiful setup....

I agree on the criticism of the suit having so much tech and Stark being very involved in Peter's life. But besides that, I consider Homecoming a good Spider-Man movie. I mean, not the best, but at least decent in terms of a rookie Spidey.

Take the fight with doc oc for example. If he were in his normal suit, he wouldn’t be able to protect his chest when doc tried to impale him nor use the suit to control the tentacles. Those nanobots come with a whole lot of upgrades.

I'm sorry but the utter lack of intuition from suit lady is not how Tony rolls. She would know his default settings, she'd be able to read his anxiety and know to revert back to it. Her choices are entirely comedic, and not something an AI would do in battle.

Mj was never Peter's main choice. In the comics anyway. MJ came around much later after Spiderman had been around for awhile. It's kinda of a way to show that connection.

Really didnt like how all the tech plus his suits were handed to him by Stark, I'd rather he invented the suit himself like the other live action spider-men. I mean after you get to scrap with Thanos using a suit you didnt even make, is there any room for improvement? Tony literally brought out the best of his potential, everything we see from here on out is Peter trying to make himself as competent as he once was in those glory days when Tony was still alive, even the competence and the power levels of the villains he fights takes a drastic dive.
You are missing the main point that this Peter is young and only been spiderman for less then a year. He makes mistakes, he is naïve and Stark is like a Guardian/father figure to him. That's why he built his suit and also gave him the "Training wheels protocol" - throughout all Tom holland spiderman movies. You can see he slowly progresses his abilities and maturity. He then later makes his own suit when Tony past away, still using Tony's technology to do it. It's been made with detail to the fact he is young Spiderman.

Bingo. They reinvented the entire Spider-Man story just to fit in with the avengers. In the books Stark and Peter were rivals, not friends.
One way to look at it that makes me appreciate things is how this Amateur Peter has the avengers to back him up (especially tony) where as the other spidermen didn’t. All to come into full circle by no way home finally showing us the introduction to the peter parker we know with the ending. It only made it so much bitter sweet and never have I ever sympathized with pete in a deeper level.

I don’t mind Tom hollands spiderman at all, but my least favorite part of it all is how they did flash. They turned him into some nerdy dickhead instead of the classic jock who’s always messing with poor Peter Parker. Could’ve just named him someone else and that would’ve been better
I wish the suit wasnt that overpowered. It makes him way too reliant on it rather than on his own powers, we basically get Iron Man Junior instead of a Spider Man.

Being that he is incredibly interested and proficient in the sciences, which use the metric system, I think he would be fine.
Also, since Spider-Man is actually highly intelligent, I think he'd easily understand the Metric System. He's more intelligent than a lot of other Americans.

I liked Spiderman better without all of the suit gadgets. This is a Marvel action movie and has some good points and good acting, but it doesn't seem like a "Spiderman" movie.
He uses tech during like 30 minutes in the movie, and this was done so that he learns that he doesn't need all of these gadgets to be Spider-Man
They are already 5 movies of him without tech. Why do you want the same thing over and over again? At least this movie was actually refreshing and something different.

@@onenonlyethan2239 The visual tracking, the many many web options, it has a stealth mode, an assistant that gives him information on both his gadgets and his surroundings, it even calculated where Peter need to shoot his webs to stop the ship from splitting apart, and a literal kill mode that lets the suit fight FOR him. OG Peter just had his webs, his will and his debts, but that was all he needed
@@tumbleweed420hits I think that's what really interesting about the arc of these three movies. This Peter *realizes* that he doesn't need any of these things. The final result of this trilogy was him ending up exactly where OG Peter starts his own adult life.
