I have a 2012 stage 2 and I get better mpg on back roads than I do on highway. Back roads I can get mid 30s if I am gentle. Highway I think I am around 31. If I drive aggressive on back roads I get 25. It's the best car I have ever had.
@@JMCHN21 I bought it last year. The previous owner spent about 7k in performance mods. It's a stage 2+ APR. It doesn't have the K04 but that is what I want to finish it.
Is that a thing? Lol. Didn't realize it was one of those common things on VWs. Good to know, I'll add that to the list of issues they have ;) Honestly though the fun of the car, the sounds, the easy power you can make, make it worth it. Interior is nice too, just an all around good car.
@MaxSpeed any time bother, just about everything else about the car is extremely satisfactory I'd say. I own a mk5 myself with an APR stage 2 tune and it absolutely rips. Very fun car.
I always wanted a turbo car. In Pero Rico I had a 2015 Suzuki SA-310 hatchback and al my cars were manual. My first one es a1968 VOLKSWAGEN Beetle. Therefore I couldn't get a Porsche but I got the next best thing. Thanks for your video.
Why is that? I remember a long time ago Car and Driver asked why exactly is it bad to lug an engine? At the time 98% of the cars on the road were N/A and I lugged my OG SAAB 900T in 5th from time to time with no issues.
Manual is easy. Best way to get better is to just do it. Buying a manual car will help you improve since you'll drive it all the time. Manual GTIs are really fun cars. Just be careful with maintenance. Gets pricey
I’d just suggest making sure it was maintained and you shouldn’t have many problems. I’m learning the hard way but I bought a mk6 as a running project so expected the issues. The best option buy new and never neglect fluid maintenance. Manual is by far the safest option with trans maintenance is simply clutch and fluid as the DSG is another story
He's got a manual. Upgrading with a lot more power means new clutch as well, and in some cases more accompanying parts. You right though, there is a lot more left
What car should I do next?
BMW M4
@@StoryTimeAnimated I can arrange that. I'll do a dct one just for you

I just copped a tuned mk6!
Congrats man!
What brand of downpipe? Did the tune shut off the cel's for no o2 sensor? Get car I'm building a Audi A3 which is pretty much the same car.
hit the owner up on instagram he still has the car! @DJMeowz
VW and those damn headliners.

For real hahahahaha id say like 97% of mk4-mk6 have HORRIBLE headliner issues. Ive yet to see one in mint condition

@@megatoltz212 awesome man! Mk5s are a bit bubbly for me but I thought the same about the mk6 until I drove it, phenomenal car.
Where did you get the headlights from?
Right after you pass the fire hall on Greene st if u look up to the left you’ll see a MKV platinum grey Gli in the alley
These are awesome cars! I'll eventually have myself a MK1, MK4, and MK7. VW is Liiife.
I might get a mk7 as well in the future. They're a lot of fun! The mk1s are badass too, buddy of mine has a built one imported from the UK
i have a mk5 152k the maintenance isnt cheap
Just an awesome car.
Absolutely. They're really fun, great handling hatches. I like them!
I love my manual 2013 mk6 2-door, it's awesome.
They're super fun!

@Las Razones de Nuestra Fe thank YOU for watching! Sounds like you've owned some fun cars before. Keep enjoying them!!
Pro-tip: Don't lug the engine in 6th gear like you did. That's just a recipe for disaster and unnecessary stress on your turbo.
Normally I'd down shift a few, do a pull,, enjoy the spool. Thanks man.
@@MaxSpeedMike Right on, good vid though.
@@iKnollex thanks man, I appreciate that! And thanks for the tip as well

On cars like the GTI, and ST, the turbo doesn't like that lol
Does it have LSD?
thinkin bout gettin a gti as my first car, never driven manual and i see most as manual, and idk i might get one and learn on the way

I have a DSG mk6 gti, if you’d like to get both perspectives!
Thanks brotha hit you up on ig a while back lol
whats the mod list?
You can see over the steering wheel?
Lol Caleb sits comfortably low but can see just fine.
can the dsg flutter like that? and what tune!
Hit up @that.mk6 on instagram. He is the owner. Yes you can still get the flutter with the dsg gearbox but the manual is definitely more fun.
MaxSpeed I agree the manual is more fun but the dsg just rips in these and can handle more power stock I believe
MaxSpeed the dsg is definitely worth a ride to aswell
@@whydoihave6neutrals772 had someone offer me the chance to review their mk6 with a dsg. Coming to the channel soon!
MaxSpeed great! I really love the channel keep it up man! ✌️
112.000-70.000=52.000😂
What is that blow off valve my dude?
Revised stock one. Piston style valve as opposed to a diaphragm style valve
@@MaxSpeedMike lol yea i got that much
It totally is a Volkswagen thing, that you have to shut it off and then turn it back on and reboot. Having owned 2 GTI’s...
That's crazy lol. But cool that it works
@@MaxSpeedMike I think it’s some kind of overboost condition that the computer senses and starts going haywire.
@@craigforbes4636 makes sense. Then again, vw can be weird lol
Dream but only dsg and other color and wheels and exhaust
Dsg is great. Drive both dsg and manual and see which one you enjoy driving more! Work hard and smart man you can attain an mk6 gti no problem.
Manual really fun on a gti but to each their own
That's nice
Definitely. Great, fun daily driver for sure!
Dudes got a CEL at 0.39 true VW or what
It's not a true German car unless it has a cel haha
apr stage 2 isnt anything compaired to there stage 2+
