To clear things up, I started this cut in july at 77kg. Im currently sitting at around 72,5-73kg, but did a gut cut for this meet. So its really not that drastic of a cut
Like he said, pretty much every single formulas (Wilks, dots, reschel etc) are all biased towards women. I think the sport should just stop trying to compare lifters across weight classes and gender (the entire reason for formulas). There is no concrete way of deciding how much stronger Perkins is than Jesus relative to his bodyweight for example, so it's a waste of time. If you've got the best total within your class, you're the best in your class and we should just leave it at that.
On bench press, she arches so high that the bar is almost next to her chest, i dont get why they allow for that. Don't get me wrong im completely ignorant on this and she lifts 2x I do on everything. It just looks weird.
they made a rule that requires a certain elbow depth to battle that extreme arching method to make benching more strength focused, thats why she got so many red lights because she was really threading the edge of that rule. before that rule got implemented the issue was way worse. but see it this way, if you CAN arch and significantly increase your benchpress numbers, there is no reason to not do it, especially if you are trying to break world records. the virtue of lifting more weight is bigger than the virtue of being respectable to some with your technqiue.
Top 5 Powerlifters of all time for sure.
