No belt is NOT better or healthier for the core. The only reason not to wear one is if it doesn't feel comfortable. Wearing a belt is much safer and allows the core to work harder.
I love that they're testing 1RM Deadlift but this event had no business being this long lol. Make bigger jumps and/or make it possible to skip lifts if you want to
Camera management: would love to see a bigger focus on making it immersive for us viewers. Seems like there is a mismatch between close-up and overview shots. In a lot of the deadlifts we got an overview shot during the actual lifts or a close-up a few seconds into the actual lift making it hard to really feel the action. In event 5 there were a lot of close-ups in a race event that lasted around 20-30 seconds, instead of giving an overview shot so we can follow the competition. One of the clearest Crossfit memories is when Mat Fraser took the win on the run sprint event in the Games, and I think that was due to the amazing live (overview) footage angles which enabled us viewers to feel true live excitement about the race and where the competitors were relative to each live in the race. Just a suggestion 🙂
It’s a great suggestion. There’s no purpose to have that overhead shot. We are missing lifts and having to watch the replay. Director/ producer get a mitt and get in he game!
Speegle not winning a purely strength event tells you more athletes are improving on their strength. But Gazan wow, immaculate throughout. You can tell that she could still go an additional 15lbs at least. Also I feel like Hovrath would have gotten some more had she switched to mixed grip when the weight got heavier she's spending a lot of effort in maintaining that hook grip.
i am just a non competitive female bodybuilder but the fact that i go to the gym to rep out 140 - 150kg deadlifts and some of these women cannot even do that and they are competitive rogue athletes gives ME an ego boost
Jeff Adler's first ever crossfit win was a strength event that had DL and squats back in the 2020 bubble which included both Fraser and Medeiros. I remember he did that without using a belt so I imagine for him to get better at other crossfit categories to win it all last year he had to shed off some of that strength and spread the focus. That's what Chandler and Speegle might need to do because they keep having extreme performances on both ends depending on the workout type.
If I'm not mistaken last year Speegle lifted up to 420lbs with no problem. This year she was struggling around 365lbs. Her lifts were smooth. She didn't bounce it up like she did on this day.
Is it just me, or is the mens division less interesting this year compared to womens. I mean womens has been really interesting past few years with the young competitors like Mal and Emmas bringing the heat. This years rogue I was missing interesting men. And I dont mean to take anything away from the great athletes but was missing the ”umph” factor that would hve made me watch all the events🙈
You know something is fishy when the women are more muscular than the men. @6:12 look at Tia’s growth hormone abdomen, sticking out like a bodybuilders.
Are you not allowed to skip lifts? In strongman people skip lifts to safe some energy for heavier attempts. These athletes will be quite fatigued by the time they set their 1 rep max, not ideal.
@@wanderer_oti if you stopped to remember that endurance is like one of the key ethos of crossfit it would kinda stop being stupid. you don't have to be so closeminded - we get it you love strongman events.
I would have won the deadlift event. Are these peeps under 30? I know people in HS who do 550+. The minimum requirement should be 300KG. What do you all think?
As a serious lifter I know what u mean but that’s just their level. They have to do so much cardio, ridiculous amount of pull-ups, be low body fat. These guys are pretty small so I guess it’s just all a mix
The Rogue organizers must be quite annoyed they gave Bethany an invitation to their competition. Second event she is not participating in. Many healthy athletes could have competed in her spot.
These women are a perfect example of what our women in law enforcement and military should be looking like. In great shape in both strength and stamina. It’s sad that police officers are allowed to get fat and out of shape. Their lives depend on it. Military personnel as well.
Interestingly to report according to my research. For 2 years I was weight training. My bench press was 295lbs. (5-8 reps), starting from 135lbs., first day in the gym. My squat was 225lbs., (5-8 reps) and my deadlift was 225lbs., - 285lbs., (5-10 reps). My leg press was 225lbs., - 525lbs., (5-10 reps). My arm curl was 40lbs., 75lbs., (5-10 reps). After weight training for 2 years and doing little cardio (treadmill/cycling). I decided to test my strength. I bought a road bike and couldn't ride a half a mile barely making it to the next block without being out of breath. Very bad. It was trying to swim and I kept sinking and getting no where. I didn't like and decided to change my workout regimen.
Fisher made every lift look effortless but gives in at 385. Psychologically, if all the athlete who didn’t make their lift left the field, I think Fisher would have kept going.
They stretch this game out so long doing 1, 2 or 3 people at a time when they have 4 spots available. Make more sense to do 4 people at a time. These ladies have had a long day. I'm sure they would like to be out there as less as possible at night. It makes no sense to have 1 person lift by themselves.
I couldn't disagree with the front squats being good or important any more than i disagree with anything else in life. So dumb. The bar is being statically held in the front by your arms so its using energy but building very little muscle and just makes you good at holding something against your chest in a very specific way that doesn't convert to any real life objects. Since your essentially holding the bar up with your arms your substantially reduce the load on your quads and the rest of your legs. Making it less than optimal for leg training. Not only that but this video is the very first time ive heard someone say asking someone weight kn front squat is THE MOST frequently asked question or whatever. No one ever asks what someones front squat is if there someone who is taken seriously. Atleast i never heard of bodybuilders, powerlifters bring up a front squat unless theyre talking about how much of a waste it is unless you just have all the time in the world and dont care about building a good physique or doing something that people dont compete in. Omg i feel i could go on and on about the front squat and how its not a better test of strength for the legs that a regular barbell back squat. And as a test for upper body strength or being able to balance a barbel isnt optimal because ofl the fact that youre squatting takes away almost all upper body potential.. if the weight is high enough that the lower body is really being challenged then any upper body exercises that arent a static hold shouldnt be able to move hnless tour legs are super weak. I get you needed to out out a video but the claims youre making based off of things people dont actually say or do is almost funny. But not quite. So i typed this.

425 lbs Deadlift looked ridiculous 💯😳🏋🏻♀️
Chandler time is right ❤🎉 everyone did a amazing job ! 🎉🎉🎉congratulations 🎊
Gazan's lifts are very clean. Horvath impressive staying with double overhand
She's doing hook grips
@@rook6378 That makes sense. But you have to have good grip strength.

Yes!! The strategy that would come from skipping lifts!
This is CrossFit not strongman. There has to be an element of endurance in it
@@TheBoyfriendOfYourWife you don't get to see someone's true strength if they have to lift 500 times before hitting a 1rm max

constructive feedback sir.
Speaking nothing but facts! I want to see every DL lift and every athlete while they’re actually doing the DL.
Trust me, this is LEAGUES better than the actual CrossFit Games. Not perfect, but immensely better.
I wonder who else is watching old crossfit games, waiting for 2024 games
Chandler smith is so funny! Love this guy. He’s actually such a god guy for real. Wow
Chandler Smith is strong 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

Speegle is a terrible lifter. The low back looks horrendous.
Cycled off too early

Also, if you take bromelaine before you eat of have a shake it'll help you digest, dramatically and also prevent bloating
I think it looks weird when Danny pulls the bar and bounces it up.
What is with the weight choices in the women’s pulls 390,400,405 and you have to pull everyone? Not the best for finding a true max
Are you not allowed to skip lifts? In strongman people skip lifts to safe some energy for heavier attempts. These athletes will be quite fatigued by the time they set their 1 rep max, not ideal.
