Good information. The over-polishing issue is not as bad as it once was, but be careful with vintage watches. Bargaining isn’t completely taboo for all shopping. It’s essential when buying electronics in Akihabara, for example. Finally, you omitted department stores. They sometimes have special editions unique to the store (Omega does frequently), they are very familiar with the tax refund thing, and it’s a really great shopping experience.
Correct about the camera shops! Bic camera is the best place to buy a watch because if you are a forigner they right off the tax if you spend over 5500 yen 😊
Very nice video, I had an amazing experience in Malaysia - some of the nicest and most humble individuals. Even the Rolex boutiques have a no-snobbery outlook and are very honest. I visited the Grand Seiko boutique there and was amazed at how accommodating they are. I look forward to visiting Japan, especially the Seiko Museum. Thank you for the video.
This is great. Going to Japan next month too. Aside from the microbrands, I would love to find out which Seiko/Casio watches that you can only get in Japan.
Thank u for highlighting Nakano Broadway. Dealers understand English language and allow use of credit cards. If you are hungry, basement floor offer a stand only Ramen shop from a low of 440 Yen onwards 😊.
Can you split payment method at the watch boutiques in Tokyo (especially Grand Seiko boutiques)? I’d like to down pay a certain amount with yen cash and pay the rest with credit card.
Don’t believe the Hype!, the prices are the same where you are!, 🤔!.(they are very smooth and smart people in Japan !, the price always reflects the internet!, Most times A little higher!, because of the high rent and high loan prices!.
@@titititi2549 , i bought 5 watches, never had a problem with them, watches where in excellent condition, with original box and papers, and sometimes re polished. I only regrets to not travel to Japan and see Ippuukishi monster’s offers outside of Chrono24.
I have been watchshopping all over the world for both used and new and nowhere is as cheap with as large an inventory as....................Los Angleles, Miami and NYC. There I said it. The grass is always greener on the other side of course, so go to Japan and see how pricey the secondhand market is over there, and what´s the point of excellent customer service when your average Japanese salesperson doesn´t bother to learn the most important language on earth.
The watch market is Definitely Dead in Japan !, sorry to tell you!, the Japanese have no time to wear watches or look at them!, it’s very hard to make a living pushing watches!. Don’t believe the hype!, 🤫
Hype looks good from a distance!, they use the internet for propaganda and price gouging!, for example they use a class prices for B class goods and so on!

If you're going to buy, take your passport. You need it to get the VAT refund. I needed to have it to make a purchase.

Nice! Don't you love when that happens?
And how was it? you bought something? :)

What’s with the masks?
🤣They've been wearing masks in Japan decades before Covid. They wear them so that they don't get other people sick.
They are all getting bankrupt because of apple and galaxy watch. Thats reality
Their target customers are different.
