Thanks for the video! I replaced mine on my 2007 f150. I took the two interior clips out and opened my rear sliding window. I was able to pull down the liner with plenty of room to access the connection. The connector on the truck side is held in place by a push clip as you noted but it’s a slide type clip. The connector slides back on to that clip attached to the body. About 20 minute install only because I was careful, took my time not to break anything, and also I had not done the install before. This video helped me know what I was dealing with. Thanks!!
I am wishing I had seen this video before I replaced my third brake light. I ended up doing mine the same way. Other videos I saw were not as clear as this one. Clear, and concise. I am not sure why but after installation I lost the lights, and gauges on the dashboard panel. Somehow a 15 amp fuse that controls all that was blown.
Thanks for the video! I ended up just cutting the clip off from the outside, and pulling the wire harness through. I dont think it will rattle, but hey, its a 16 year old truck, soooo..
My 2005 doesn’t come apart that way, after pulling the screws the clear cover comes off the light, but the light assembly won’t come off. Seems to be attached from the underside?? Pull the headliner, or is it just stuck?
Im thinking just stuck. 2004-2008 should all be the same. I wonder if someone "fixed it" by siliconing the housing down rather than properly fixing it with a gasket?
What year is your truck? I bought an Amazon third brake light for my 2004 F-150 and it didn't fit at all, even though the description said it did. The link in your description is not the same as the one you installed, so just wanted to check.

These companies changing products is making me very mad. Mine is a 2007. Thanks for the heads up!
How did you get it unstuck
