    About the mechanicis : One detail that tend to be brushed under the rug by universes of fictions when it comes to cyber implant is very well explained in ghost in the shell.
    There is a massive gap between someone who is simply augmented (ie just a mechanical arm) and a full on cyborg. That's simply because, if you try to lift something that wieght, let's say 5t, if you're an augmented, your arms mught lift it, but the pressure excerted will also end up in your spine, your leg etc... And unless your implant is limited by your muscle mass, you won't be able to lift it without your aug' severing herserlf from your body.
    There is no such problem when your are a full on cyborg, the only thing you have to mind is your acceleration, to much Gs will smash your brain.
    So yeah, when 40k says that Cawl decapsulate chaos marine like a bunch of lemonades on a hot summer, I believe them.

    • @xenocide1307
      @xenocide1307 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      You're mostly right. If you are using something that everts an inverse gravity effect on what you are attempting to lift, you circumvent the normal limitations to the rest of your biology. When it comes to the brain WH40K seems to be a bit hand wavey here, but I'd assume it's a combination of genetically enhanced organs for durability and some kind of inertial dampener to reduce organ strain.

    • @xdr22
      @xdr22 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@xenocide1307 oh yeah, if you use some kind of anti-grav stasis tech so your brain doesn't take any Gs then there's virtually no limit

    Personally, I was always a bit fond of Gland Warriors. Somewhere between superhuman and abhuman, they have a Lohstok gland, or some similar spelling, implanted within them, and this gland manufactures, and secretes on command, various chemicals, simms, and more. They tend to go a bit loopy, but they can be pretty beast against other men, under most circumstances.

    How can you go about killing perpetuals? Their whole thing is regenerating endlessly, but even arguably the most powerful of them, the Emperor is now so cripple he makes Stephen Hawking look like a triathlete, but meanwhile Vulcan just does not stop healing no matter what. So I'm thinking perpetuals aren't all the same and some have their limit, either that or you have to do something to stop them from healing, warp fuckery, a special type of poison, etc.

    • @Mr.Monacle

In Cawls book, where he was facing off against a genestealer cult, I don’t think he was ever in danger, despite the space marines with him constantly being on the edge of being killed. I think high tier mechanicus individuals like magos dominus are on par with custodians just because of their tech.

    Another possible superhuman: Imperial saints like Sabbat and Celestine. Though there is almost a Warp shenanigans going on with them, they can go toe to toe with marines to the extend that Chaos might design monsters specifically to hunt them.
    Something else of note, which was mentioned in a TTS Q&A episode but seems to have happened in the lore is the repetition of the process which created the Emperor, though on a smaller scale. On that note, I do not know how the Sensei rank against a Space Marine but its hard to argue that they are not one of the most "natural" superhuman groups.

    • @robskovira5626

      At this point i think Ciaphas Cain is actually an extremely low level psyker. Here me out. Yes Jurgen is a blank and usaully that gives psykers the heebee JeeBeeies. However there are multiple classifications of psykers on the psyker scale. Just like there are several levels of blank on same said scale. What if Cain is not baseline human but has enough psyker power to be extremely lucky. That is actually one of the power scalings. He still isn't considered a psyker but he always finds himself in the right time right spot. Everything makes him look like a hero but he also squeezes out of a tight spot. A lot of the time by being in the right place at the right time or some other how very convenient luck you have there commisar.

    From all the lore we have, the sisters of silence are nominally baseline human.
    Their power seems to come from their null field. The most powerful of them have been said to be basically invisible to most people. At lion's gate Kharn killed one of them without noticing and was extremely confused when his kill counter ticked up and he couldn't recall killing someone.
    Also besides Eisenhorn's plot armor, he also has a sentient sword.

    • @letendreelliott8778
      @letendreelliott8778 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And it’s not like base humans with the best gear the imperium can offer being a match for astartes is that far fetched. Cain fought Khornite berserkers in melee and held is own, Yarrick killed an ork warboss, that one Sororitas Saint allegedly fought a Custodian to a standstill for 1 hour (the Custodian probably wasn’t going for the kill but still) and old man Creed clashed swords with Abbadon himself. SoS have basically the same amount of training as these people but with even better gear.

    • @alexandremenard3833
      @alexandremenard3833 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I see the super speed and techniques of the Sisters of Silence as being a by product of the wrongness of their untouchable nature, people and reality buckles under their wrongness, making them "faster", "Stronger", etc. while not being it really.
      For Eisenhorn, he has lots of magics, rituals and spells on him at that point. If he can control a daemonhost of the power of Cherubael with a thought, he is probably able to subconsciously reinforce himself in ways that aren't even understandable to an observer.

    • @ohamatchhams
      @ohamatchhams 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, there was mysterious air surrounding the periods between DAOT, Age of Strife and The Unification Wars which spawns Millennias and not even further elaborations for the details surrounding how Men of Gold even described remotely, The Men of Gold could be race of Psychically-gifted Perpetuals with commanding power over a Solar System or even multiple
      The Emperor of Mankind might be either powerful or cunning enough to escape the onslaught of those ages and able to won the gambles of unification wars as it was much tighter and dangerous periods even for both The Emperor and Malcador as the artefacts from DAOT still could even potentially kills them and other hypothetical Men of Gold which befriended Malcador until they're either give up, betrayed or killed when helping the early ideals of Imperium
      So Imperium's ideals and Malcador attempts to foreseeing the futures might not set in stone (no pun intended) before the contact with Mars, assimilation of Mechanicum to The Great Crusade, since even an Warhammer 40K Audiobook featuring Malcador has him admitting that even Unification Wars' purposes was initially just for the domination on Earth, not just Galaxy, the Emperor might only know about other human-settled Star Systems as times goes on considering of how he's mysteriously idle during DAOT and Age of Strife
      These speculations which dwarfs even The Emperor's night-Omniscience is what happens when GW never gives us fuckall detailed infos about eras before Unification Wars, typical of Warhammer 40K's problematic ambiguity after all these decades can goes even worse than Dark Souls 2's lore and map designs

    Not sure why human psykers weren't covered, plenty of Inquisitors aren't psykers so they don't totally encapsulate them. Regardless, Psykers, especially Primaris psykers, can easily dunk on an average Astartes or group of Astartes, on tabletop and in lore. Not necessarily in some kind of open ground arena esque combat scenario, but in pretty much all other their encounters where the psyker has an entourage and or cover, they present a huge threat.
    But then, the million flavors of Chaos Witches, Navigators, Astropaths, Primaris, Wyrdvane, Sorcerers, Demon callers ect, would have to be a video of their own.
