Discovered this movie just two days ago and it left a lasting impression. It's remarkably creative, ambitious, dark, and disturbing - all without relying on explicit graphic violence. As a Canadian, I'm proud it's from here, but more importantly, it showcases the often overlooked humanistic and ambitious nature of Quebecois cinema. Wish I could have watched it at the Fantasia Film Festival since I was there seeing another movie (). Thoroughly enjoyed it. Excellent review as well.
I'm so glad you liked it! It really took me by surprise. I was completely immersed from the first frame and I like how the director toys with the concept of morality and overstepping certain boundaries. Makes the viewer uncomfortable and requires you to think. Thanks for watching! Have you seen Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person? An excellent Canadian film technically released last year, but is widely available now that I thought was incredible!
Finally, someone mentioned Haneke and Funny Games. A lot of people mention Fincher, and it stylistically resembles his work, but Funny Games was my first thought - it's about voyeurism and capitalism, and it implicates the viewer. Saw Red Rooms for the first time last night and it blew me away. I was totally haunted by it. The lead actress needs to be a superstar
I'm still in shock by it. Work of Art. Masterpiece.... i just watched another movie this director did called " Fake Tattoos" from 2017. Really good romantic movie. Hidden gem.
I just came home from watching it (I’m in Austin). It was so incredibly chilling and mesmerizing. The feeling of Kelly-Anne’s apartment was ominous af. I feel like you nailed this review
Had to come back after I finally got to see this. Available now on Apple TV and Amazon. I liked his movie as well. My takeaway was that Kelly Anne was actually like a Lisbeth Salander Girl With the Dragon Tattoo character. During the whole movie, you're left guessing Kelly Anne's motive. I think being somewhat of a hacker she saw the videos in the Red Room and was watching the trial to see if the killer would be convicted. To mix things up they introduce Clemintine to install doubt. When she dresses up in the end she's looking for that "look" in his eyes to solidify and make certain he is guilty. Then the ending says it all. I really enjoyed this movie. I wanted to thank you for your video and for letting me know about it.

The best choice the director/writer ever did here, was never to let the audience in to what Kelly-Anne's motivations are.
I totally agree! Also love the Twin Peaks photo. My favorite show of all time!

Thanks for watching the review! It's a brilliant movie. I hope a lot of people love it!
I don’t trust people who idolise serial killers, that detachment and lack of compassion for victims is just sick to me.
The movie does an amazing job covering the psychology behind it. Its very twisted.
So true except she ends up getting the evidence to put him away for good. So it's very twisted
Best movie of the 2020's.
I absolutely loved it!
Very good 👍

That's a really cool interpretation! I'm so glad you finally got a chance to watch it!
Nice tee- wright/pegg/frost are my boys right back to the Spaced days!
They are the best! Some of my favorite movies.
Please tell me how to watch this? I can’t find it anywhere
It's supposed to be coming to the US soon, but if you use a VPN you can rent it from Canadian Prime Video.
Saw it last night in NYC at the IFC Center. If not coming to an indie theater near you, it may be on streaming soon!
