FACELESS AFTER DARK (2024) MOVIE REVIEW
loved it! my kids got to experience a ghost concert without breaking the bank.
Loved everything about it. I did enjoy the animated sequence, but at the same time would have enjoyed seeing the live performance of that song. Double edged sword I guess. Overall, amazing film and my daughter and I loved it
Elephant and Milk are my favourite of Gus Van Sant's films. Haven't seen Good Will Hunting either 😅
Hey Nate, you should really see another movie called The Vanishing starring Gerard Butler. I thought it was a great, suspenseful period Thriller/Mystery movie. It takes place at a Lighthouse and it was released in the same year as The Lighthouse 😅 But it's quite different and has Gerard Butler's finest performance to date. He also produced it, so I think he really cared about getting this one right.
Reminded me of “good to see you again “ Alice cooper and “hard days night” Beatles . Loved it.
I'm gonna point out that there's a pretty big difference between the actual Church of Satan (which no longer exists, I believe) and the Satanic Temple (which you're referring to). The church was much more like a cult from what I've read.
Poormans stuckmannized 😂😂
I saw it for the second time last night, and it was somehow even better than the first-although that might be partially because the second time was at a different theater that had much better sound, including much louder bass levels, and far more fantastic balance overall. I agree with everything you’ve stated here. As an avid fan for 10 years now, and I couldn’t possibly have asked for a better experience that the one this movie provided. It is not only perfection from beginning to end, but I feel it also gave me a new lease on life. I’ve had such a horrible couple/few years and haven’t been coping well at all. I essentially “lost the music” in my life, and I’m so grateful that this film has brought it back to me. It made me want to continue trucking on and taking steps to improve myself. It made me think, “What a time to be alive!’
I loved the movie so much!!!! Too bad there were only 4 others there though, they just sat in complete silence and left </3. But I was still happy to be there!!!
Mary On A Cross sequence was my favorite part.
A very polarizing movie that I love is Vice. I've watched it 4 times and it's such a unique, interesting, hilarious movie that I find to be one of the most unique biopics you'll ever find.
I’ve never been to a ritual although I really want to. Getting to go to this movie was a pretty close second and it was awesome when the audience would just start head banging and singing along If You Have Ghosts was almost a tear jerker and it gave me chills, never felt so in the moment
I loved seeing all the fans so engaged! Agreed! It made me tear up both times I watched it!
@@natesfilmreviews hell yeah brother, also in Con Clavi Con Dio when everyone yelled “LUCIFEEEEERRRRRR!”😂
Their music is 💕🌷pretty✨💖 and it makes me cry 🥹
They do have some beautiful and emotionally moving music!
Two young kids came in with Papa make-up on, which was fun to see. I was BLOWN AWAY by the lighting for their show. I've seen them live twice but this show, the lighting was spectacular.
I agree. I love the costumes too. The skeleton dancers were amazing and I loved the Ghoulettes that played If You Have Ghosts!
I just went again. Solo. So good!
It was amazing!
I went by myself & it ended up being a huge treat to myself. It was excellent!!!
Such a fun time in a group or solo!
I thought it was Great and I Loved it! My introduction to Ghost was on 98 Rock I caught the tail end of Square Hammer ! And then I fell in love with Hunters Moon from Halloween Kills! So when I found out about this movie I had to go see it and I'm glad I did! I even watched a video about the Ghost lore!
Ghost lore is fascinating and once you start deep diving you can't stop!
Did he leave in a balloon or not?
I don't think so!
A friend and I watched it was really awesome
I'm 42 yrs old and have grown incredibly weary with the world. Ghost have blessed us with something truly remarkable. I felt like a kid again for the duration of this movie, just like at their shows.
That's awesome to hear. It's always great when a band can make you travel in time. I'm 33, but seeing Ghost just takes me back to all the metal shows I went to as a kid and the sense of community that exists in that genre.
I'm really trying not to say anything bad about it, but after seeing the same show live, on top of seeing various youtube vids of the very same concert.. I wished i had read what it was about, prior to going and watching it. I love Ghost, no doubt...but I think Tobias Forge would really benefit from a brainstorming session with Jack Black.
Rite here rite now instantly cemented itself as an equal to the alltime greats such as The song remains the same, Stop making sense, and The wall. The theatricality of the band plays perfect for a piece like this. Band was tight, as always, Set list was great (I personally could've swapped a few, but hey, there is no such thing as an universally perfect setlist - and the set list was def. GOOD). I really hope it is released so that lightening in a bottle doesnt go lost on the ones unfortunate enough to miss the experience.
I agree. The movie encapsulates everything that makes the band special, just like all those other films you listed!
There were like 6 people in the theatre when I went but oh my god it was blown away and almost turned around and bought another ticket. I was rocking out in my seat.
Me too! Definitely lots of singing and dancing in my seat haha. Ghost makes music that's impossible not to want to dance and sing to!
Easily one of the most arresting, horrifying endings I've ever seen in any story. It's been years since I first saw it and I think about it all the time! Just never, ever watch the US remake--it's a travesty!
It hasn't left my mind since I watched it. I had no idea it was coming. I will avoid it!
You look like Chris stuck man
Absolutely loved the movie and absolutely love the band
I loved it.
Agreed!
I saw that movie this January; honestly I loved that movie!
It is fantastic. I didn't know much about it before I watched it and it's stuck with me since.
Love this review, not just of the movie, but of the band, music and fans. I LOVED the movie. Even my husband liked it, and he's not really a fan, but he said he enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching! It was such an amazing experience. I've loved reading everyone's theater going experiences!
I agree with everything you said about this film. When I first saw it, it was when it first came out at an LGBT film festival. It was one of the festival's midnight showings, which they usually reserve for their avant-garde/experimental films or those that they think might become a "cult classic". While I enjoyed the film when I first saw it in a packed movie theater on a Wednesday night, later, when the Blu-ray came out, I bought it and found all the same problems with it that you found with it. It did seem like a made-for-TV Canadian movie for teens that is trying to be "artsy"; it might also be why it got the show time that it did. With that said, the LGBT film festival in my city was last week, and I only saw one film there this year. It was the closing night film, a movie out of Belgium called "Young Hearts," and I loved it. I'm still thinking about it. It had that magic to it that fixes the problems with many Gay coming-of-age films. It is not open officially yet, as it is still making the festival rounds after perming at Berlin earlier this year. When I saw it the other night the director showed up for a Q&A. Check out the trailer and see if you can find a screening near you. It great film; I could see it being Belgium's entry for best foreign language film at the Oscars.
That sounds like a movie that's right up my alley. I will have to look for it when it is released! Thanks for sharing!
@@natesfilmreviews Yes, and the director of the film was a producer on last year's Closet, and the film Girl
Well... I was high when I went in and couldn't enjoy the first bit cause I was worried I just dragged my boyfriend to a boring concert film. We had seen them a year ago so I thought he was bored. I get Hella paranoid if I smoke more than I should so that kinda made it hard to enjoy. But towards the end when I was coming down, I was alright. We even talked about theories. He enjoyed it and likes the band so I guess it was a win? Minus the paranoia 😅
I love Ghost and being from Sweden myself I’m extremely proud of what Tobias has accomplished. The hard work he has put in is above and beyond what any other band in Sweden has ever done. 🤘🏻🇸🇪🤘🏻
That is so cool! He is such a one of a kind talent!
@@natesfilmreviews indeed, the music is amazing and Tobias has an amazing sense of humor. One of the best bands I’ve seen live! Mummy Dust is awesomely dark and works very well live. 🤘🏻🇸🇪🤘🏻
Well said and summerized. I´m 61 years old and is like a teenager when it comes to Ghost. Everybody in welcome in the community. Amazing movie. Greetings from Sweden. So proud that Tobias is a swede to.
I love hearing it! Tobias is such an awesome human and it's so cool to see his growth and success!
To me this film (which I loved) is in the same vein of Linkletter's School of Rock. Even in 2004 they would have done a background check a lot sooner to find out Jack Black's character is not who he says he is, other teachers would have heard the music, etc.
You definitely have to throw some logic out the window, but it was so much fun!
Great review for an awesome show! Spectacular and thrilling all the way. This film showcased the beauty, imagination, and musician skill level of each and every musician. These musicians are gifted and talented and work together for a sound only this combination of people and musicians can create. Highly technical and entertaining. The message is beautiful throughout. The future of the lore and the band is so bright. The film was better than a live concert in that it gave you a close-up view of each musician performing and the many changes that occurred throughout to make it truly spectacular! I left with such a good feeling and look forward to what's next for Ghost.
I agree with everything you said. I feel like the band just gets better and better. Can't wait to see what's next!
I found your channel a little while ago, and I agree with most of your movie reviews. So, when I was googling the film I was happy to see that you reviewed it, as I am considering buying it as a blind buy for the B&N sale. You convinced me!
Hope you enjoy it when you check it out. Thanks for watching the reviews!
I think you hit the nail on the head with your description of the film and the message behind Ghost. I loved the movie and left the cinema with a really good feeling. I'm so glad to be a part of their amazing fanbase!
So am I! Hoping they tour later this year or early next year!
@@natesfilmreviews Definitely, finger‘s crossed!! 🤞
I love it. I warch it aleast three times a year.
I'm gonna revisit it at some point in the future. I hope to enjoy it more then!
Dude, I legit thought you where Chris Stuckmans brother for a second :)
I get that all the time haha. We are both from Ohio funny enough!
I've gotten into Ghost very recently and watched the film with a friend yesterday....I loved every second of it, it was really fun and moving in it's entirety. The music was topnotch, the skits were hilarious and it was just an overall amazing experience and an equally amazing way to introduce Ghost to someone who hasn't gotten into them yet. 10/10 would recommend.
I completely agree with you!
My only complaint is LET ME LISTEN TO MIASMAAAAAAAAAAAA !
I get they needed time to do some cutaway scenes, but I felt the same!
@@natesfilmreviews I hope the blu-ray release will have both versions with and without the skits !
Glad to see it back out. Always liked this movie. Very underrated.
It is super underrated. Shudder always helps bring back underrated gems.
Went yesterday loved it. After end scene no one got up to leave till one guy said ok someone get up first lol great time . hope I can buy it later to have forever
That happened at both of my shows. People just sat that waiting for something to happen. It was great!
My gf our friends and myself went to watch this movie’s premier and everyone in the whole movie theatre was singing along to the songs all in unison and it was truly amazing, it legitimately felt like a true concert. Mind you there weren’t too many of us, like it wasn’t packed but the fanaticism of those present was amazing. Loved it and it’s been stuck in my mind
It was such a wonderful time. I'm glad to hear so many other people had great experiences!
Welcome to the Dollhouse is just as good maybe even better, a must see.
It's on my ASAP watchlist!
I literally have never commented on anything ever on TH-cam but I was compelled to say I completely agree with everything you said, it described what I really like about them that I couldn't quite put to words 🤌
Thank you for watching the review and commenting! They are such a special group and they mean so much to so many people!
Amazing band. Amazing film.
Agreed!
his band used to be so good. not so much now
The acting was campy, the dialogue was a little difficult to hear sometimes (Though, that might've been my theater), but it just felt so authentically Ghost. The setlist was amazing, the plot was easy enough to follow, the actual concert bit itself was absolutely incredible. I genuinely enjoyed it, and I can't wait to see if it comes out on Bluray or digital, because I want to relive it again.
I'm the same. Can't wait to own it!
Just got done watching it and it was amazing!!! Definitely recommend. Best money I’ve spent in a while. Brought a couple people who really didn’t know anything about ghost and now they want to go to see them live 🤘
That is so cool. It doesn't take much for people to get hooked on Ghost. They are so talented!
