Thank you so much your video fixed my LCD screen with the 12c board attached I had 3 errors , basically I had to add the liquid crystal 12 c library, change the begin to init instruction and run the 12c scanner file to change the LCD address so then it came to life, then had to make same changes to the sketch for the project I am making which is a Ultra violet light sensor used for measuring the suns strength to know when skin protection is needed

same thing happened to me LOL, new to arduino, decided to buy an LCD with I2c. blank screen expected as said from the seller but just needs tuning, searched around the internet to fix the backlight with i2c, turns out from this video you just had to rotate the screw on the i2c 😂🤦

So my LCD for some reason only show the first letter of the lcd.print command, (for example if I write "Adruino", all it appear is A)

Best method for such problem will be to tighten or loosen the screw behind the i2c module in a small blue box(potentiometer of display) it will change the contrast of display due to high or low contrast these boxes appear.
This solved my problem hope will solve yours also
