Best method for such problem will be to tighten or loosen the screw behind the i2c module in a small blue box(potentiometer of display) it will change the contrast of display due to high or low contrast these boxes appear.
This solved my problem hope will solve yours also

If you doesn't know, it is difficult.
how did you adjust your brightness?
At the back of lcd i2c, there's a potentiometer to adjust brightness with small screw driver.

@@jojosanitytv8150 if it darkens or brightens when adjusted, lcd i2c is working. you need to upload code to see the output.

i did try everything the metods that you mentioned, but it still not working. For example when i click the reset button from arduino the lcd turned off and i idid adjust the potentio. Does it mean i should buy the new lcd? pls fast respond cause this is for my bachelor's degree, thank sir

I have a similar lcd that doesn't work. Scanning the i2c bus just hangs and doesn't progress at all, so I am guessing I have one with faulty i2c chip.

@@TeachMeSomething Nah, I figured what the problem was. The scl pin on the control board was touching one of the resistors or the capacitors on the lcd board. The factory did a bad job putting it together, should have put something between the 2 boards. I am just glad the chip didn't fry.
