How about using brass nails/rods? Ever seen matchbox car models, take a look at the axles, see the rounded over ends? Maybe that would be nice to have exposed on the bracelet links!
Hi Steven! I'm from Indonesia and I'm a big fan of your woodwork. Im so appreciate your work. and now i want to try make watch. can you give me the design detail of that component ? thankyou so much
great videos ...and asking for the finish coat type as i made my own wooden watch like yours but want to know the right finish way and type to seal the wood and also safe foe human skin .... thanks
I used tung oil, it's supposed to be safe in contact with food, so not sure whether with human skin, but I'm sure you'll be fine with just about any finish since human skin is a very good barrier against the external environment.
I didn't cut the links out on the CNC for this wooden watch, which means that I didn't generate the necessary G-code for it. If you have Inventor installed you can generate the G code from the plans, or have a go with the PDF.
Hello Steven. What are the pins called that hold together the watch links (if you had used them instead of nails)?. And also how long would they need to be? Thankyou
I searched up "stainless steel toy car axles", anyway, found them as part of some toys on eBay at first, now I get them completely from Taobao, nails seem to work just fine too
Steven Zhang I see! As my glass on my wooden watch will fell out when the watch caught in the rain, so I wondering how to make the glass fit to the wood
Hello, I'm doing a wood work class and wanted to know how to find the file for the watch links. I'm making a watch based of your design (will give you credit). I'm not very experienced with CAD files etc. There is a CNC miller at school i hope to use.
WoW, what a fantastic job you did on your watch 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Impressive work!
Looks great man, well done. Keep these coming :)

What is the name of the tool you use to put the watch hands on?
It's a watch hand presser
very nice work, i want to ask something: what did you use to make the wood get bright?
5 coats of tung oil. Varnish would do the trick too.
What is the red tool you used for installing the hands?
it's a watch hand setting tool, from eBay
What's a majermet of DIY
Where you buy the glass?
Ebay
Hi may I know how u install the glass ? Did u use any glue?
it is just a press fit, but I also put a bit of silicone around the edge to seal the gaps
Steven Zhang I see! As my glass on my wooden watch will fell out when the watch caught in the rain, so I wondering how to make the glass fit to the wood
Congratulations very good job, wonderful. A question what kind of glue do you use. Greetings from Colombia
I use Titebond 2 for general wood connections, epoxy for extreme cases and non-wood to wood connections, silicone for the glass crystal of the watch.
