Scott, that children's bowl was portraying scenes from the poem "The Duel" (AKA "The Gingham Dog and the Calico Cat") by Eugene Field! (He also wrote "Wynken, Blynken and Nod.") My Bumper Book (ed. Watty Piper) included The Duel with wonderful illustrations by Eulalie.
Can we just say this together, 'Bobeche for the WIN!' Wow! Thanks for the 'shop along', it's always great to virtually hang out with you. You know I love the 'clear glass' but for me you finding the 'Mildred' cup and saucer put a smile on my face, I do love that old pattern. You know I've been watching you shop for so many years that I actually remember when you used to pass by the 'clear glass' aisle because no one was interested in buying it, it didn't sell... Well, we changed all of that, didn't we! (BTW, I collect Fostoria Baroque with the Chintz etch.) 😻
I have an old high chair in my dining room, an antique store was going to throw it out. The gentleman about to do so saw my face and said " you want ere eh? here ya go missy"! I promptly had him place it in my truck.
Every time you find Mildred dishware, I think of my mother, whose name was Mildred. Also, I have collected single stemmed glasses from the depression era like the one you put back. When having parties, folks would fight over who got their favorite glass. They did not want to match. It was such fun times.
You sure are fortunate to have many places to thrift that haven’t been “scrubbed” clean of anything collectible or antique! Believe me, in my neck of the woods the thrift shops have caught on to the “thrifters”😱. Anyone seeking junk, junk or DollarStore “junk” or best yet….a trove of plastic water bottles….thrifting is like finding a need in a hay stack! Not complaining, I go out regularly, have many Goodwills/ etc. thrift stores but their prices are upwards to what resellers might ask…and so it goes! Happy for you that you have plentiful hunting grounds! Have fun, enjoy the journey/hunt!☘️. I enjoy your your show and tells☘️👍
You had one of those rare total SCORE days! I liked everything….your taste is a mirror to my Omaha Nebraska 1926 bungalow. Now the kids have grown and I have retired from everything but eBay, my home is being curated back to just the things I love. Oh the thrift stores to haunt here. And boy howdy, do you inspire me! Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️
🍀🍀 "The luck of the Irish," 🍀🍀 was with you on this shopping trip. Love the last piece that you showed us. *BEAUTIFUL* I'm waay behind on my videos. Playing catch up w/u & Dee. 😊
When Avon calls I 🚶♂️ on bye...that 70-80s glass gives me a rash. That blue tidbit would match the console i bought from you. Lilly of da valley flower with violet or forget me nots. What a great teacher! Verify and reverify. Background check all glass.
Oh my gosh buddy I know folks get so tired of my soap box but trust me........if I had a nickel for everytime someone told me "Scott.....it's Morgantown Glass and worth $500 bucks.....I saw it on line" As we all know internet listings are RIDDLED with mistakes from the "cut and paste" crowd who don't double or triple check their references. I make mistakes too but and am always learning. I just know better than to immediately trust most of what can be found doing a quick internet search.
@oldcuriosityshop265 lessons learned from impulse buys...we gain wisdom as we age. I think same is true in relationships; people should wait until their 40s to marry or cohabitate.
Incredible antiques and collectibles!! Agree with the folks that say some of our goodwill and thrift stores sell mostly modern junk. Especially in Delaware County Pennsylvania. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.🤗Happy St. Patrick’s day ☘️ don’t for your patio furniture 😂
Wow Scott you have truly out done yourself. I like to display a small mismatched collection of clear mis matched candle holders on a table . I arrived at that conclusion when I had broken a couple of mates!😮
Good afternoon, WOW!! Look at All the wonderful stocked shelves with so many collectables!! Amazing!! I wish so badly I wasn't so far away! Ours here are so sad with nothing much and alot of junk in my opinion!! You always find unique vintage wonderful finds. Thanks again for taking us along. Always so fun and interesting!!! Happy St Patrick's day too!! ☘️☘️☘️
I LOVE the days when the cart gets filled up over and over. I can tell you about the big cruet. My home church has one exactly like it in a shadow box on the wall. It was given by a member along with two glass goblets to celebrate the Lord's Supper when the church was first organized. That was in 1888.
Model Flint Glass Company, Grace pattern ?? 1899-1902. I did not google, promise. You found so many treasures, and I would have had to spend hours on those crowded shelves. I would have bought the circus plate, and the child's warming dish though, but I realize you (business) can't pick up everything. Thank you for taking us shopping. *See my update below ;)
***Well, I've done some more digging and it is a decanter by Model Flint Glass Company called Planet introduced in 1899. This decanter is much bigger than the cruet, a whole pint! @@oldcuriosityshop265
What a fantastic day of thrifting! The Royal Ruby was an excellent buy. Love the Mildred cup and saucer. That was a Candlewick chamber candle holder and was sold as a single originally. The sale of the Rose Point chimneys should more than cover the cost of your entire shopping trip, congratulations.
I like the Fostoria Glass Candle Holders with the attached crystals. I have a different pair of Fostoria glass candle holders with one of the candle stick holders missing the attached crystals. They are hard to find. Blessings, Scott. 😊
Hey Scott! Loved the Friday all day shop video. I watched it Sunday afternoon and it was delightful. My favorite piece you bought was the tidbit tray with the painted lily of the valley flowers on the blue painted ring. I have my fingers crossed that you list it on eBay! Hope you’ve had a great weekend. 🤞🤞🤞🥰

Of course. I thought of that after I posted. $10 would be not high enough. Not being a reseller, I thought maybe sellers had to at least double their money, but didn’t take into account other costs involved. Thanks!
I have similar etched globes that fit into sterling silver candlesticks that were my grandmother's. You had an amazing day thrifting!! I'd be happy just following behind you, scooping up your leftovers!
Hi Scott! Although in my basement I have two sets of dinnerware, at family occasions I instead mismatched plates. The look is eclectic and fun. I enjoy seeing people chose their plates as I learn a bit about them. One of my friends chose a plate and then handed it to his partner as ‘it is so you.’
Lily of the Valley. I paid 50.00 dollars wholesale for those 😄 I was working a crossword once and handed it to my husband once. He had filled in weed for A Tree Grows in Brooklyn 😁 So I’m excusing you Scott. ❤️😁🐩
I liked the children’s bowl. I have a kind of affection for anthropomorphic clocks. My GW got a large collection of ruby red glassware a couple months ago. I bought a few items for myself, and some for my mother who wants to collect it.
As a kid we always went to Lexington Market in Baltimore on Christmas Eve. One our traditional stops was the candy booth. We got a mix of those old fashioned candies. 🎅🏻🎄🤶🏻
You had some great finds today I can't believe the beautiful stuff you found for so cheap I live in the Midwest and you never find the tops to anything here
I could thrift for 3 weeks and not find what you did. Wisconsin's thrift stores are not great. You have inspired me to not ignore the clear glass. I am not great at identifying patterns like you, but once in awhile I find something "good". Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I would rather stop at 5 or 6 stores instead of one Store. Walmart spokesperson. Thanks for the shopping trip. I hope I will one day be able to identify the glasswares. Im not a reseller so its hard to find space for everything, but WoW its so fun....
Scott so lucky to find the cup and saucer. Mildred was my mother's name I've bought some items from your Ebay shop for my granddaughter. I would love to have that cup and saucer for her.😊
My Aunt Marguerite bragged every time I was around her Fosteria. When her daughters & were were around 10-15 she had already assigned which daughter got which pieces of Fosteria they would get when she died. It was very important to her.
I just discovered your channel and am enjoying it! I collect vintage coffee pots and percolators and would love to see more about metal objects of any kind, inc pewter, aluminum, etc. Thanks for your great content!
Oh boy, this was fun. I love your all day romps through the shops. Thanks for showing us the goodies.

Lilly of the Valley is the weed! Very pretty!
Flowers on the tray, lilly of the valley and forget me nots, it's very pretty.
All beautiful, Scott.
44:44 WOW, Scott great video..❤ the light blue console is fostoria glass Fairfax pattern color (azur )blue

I wondered what such a large cruet was used for!
Loved it all!!!
My mom use to buy that candy and put it out on Christmas Eve.
Nice haul!
I love the cobalt blue pitcher and the candlesticks.
Goodness, what a great shopping day Scott!
Glad you had a good thrift shopping day.
Good stuff.

WOW Scott, that was a fun day Thrifting with you!! Thanks for taking us along... hi there Salem!!
Miss the woolworths in philly, they were great, especially the lunch counters🍔🍰☕
We miss Woolworths in England too.
That's where I had my first club sandwich when I was a kid! Still remember the frilly toothpicks!

I have my challenges with type 1 diabetes but God is faithful. Thanks for your thoughtfulness, Scott.
My grandma always had those old fashion candies out at Christmas. ❤

Your finds are always so impressive! Much better than what I can find in my neck of the woods. And the oldie music is chef's kiss!
Yes! Get the watermelon. I would buy it. Love it. And the tidbit tray with the blue stripe and Lily of the Valley flowers - so pretty!
The store was asking $3.99 for the stem. If I had bought it, what would you have been willing to offer me to then sell it to you?
@@oldcuriosityshop265 Is this a trick question... 🤔
I think $10 would be a fair price. I would use it. You just don’t see many these days.

Ah, buffalo! My old school's mascot was the Ole Thundering Herd. A Bison! Don't know if that's useful. Maybe. Another great video, Scott. ❤
Wow!! What a day. Hard to pick a favorite.
That highchair was amazing!! 💚💚💚💚💚
Hello Scott wonder stuff
Hi Scott! Although in my basement I have two sets of dinnerware, at family occasions I instead mismatched plates. The look is eclectic and fun. I enjoy seeing people chose their plates as I learn a bit about them. One of my friends chose a plate and then handed it to his partner as ‘it is so you.’
I loved this video! Such amazing finds Scott
Those are forget-me-nots and lily-of-the valleys. Totally sweet spring flowers.
Border wallpaper on kitchen ceiling ! I grew up in 30/40s kitchen. This is beautiful border! Please put as ceiling border. That's the way to go! Bye👋
Lily of the Valley. I paid 50.00 dollars wholesale for those 😄
I was working a crossword once and handed it to my husband once. He had filled in weed for A Tree Grows in Brooklyn 😁 So I’m excusing you Scott. ❤️😁🐩
The "weeds" on the tidbit-tray are *Maiglöckchen" and "Vergissmeinnicht". Glad to help❗😆

New to your channel. Learning so much. You have great taste! Instant fan.
I love that store.I found a lot of stuff there too. It’s the easiest thrift store for me to get to by bus.
As a kid we always went to Lexington Market in Baltimore on Christmas Eve. One our traditional stops was the candy booth. We got a mix of those old fashioned candies. 🎅🏻🎄🤶🏻
I should say stall, not booth.
Truly impressed with what you found, store after store, seemed like a vert special shopping day! Thanks for the teaching moments too📚

I was in second avenue on Thursday and got two fairy lamps to. The same ones you got. I knew you would get that set of red dishes.
Your train songs remind me of my dad and his brother jumping on a train and doing some travening to differant towns in iowa
Mary that’s great 😃👍
Ooooh. Wootermelon glass. 😅

We use our Homer Laughlin Fiesta Ware dinnerware everyday. It’s almost indestructible, I love HLC
The candy shown on the tin is the kind that would cut your tongue.
The sweet tin is lovely.Kitchen? On top of the Hoisier cabinet?
Tidbit plate has forgetme nots and lily of the valley. I have that large cruet packed away somewhere. Bought it a long time ago.
That was a full day of successful thrifting. I didn’t know that candy was made by Ludens, the only cough drops my mother would buy. Ugh.
I was so hoping u would that 3 lite candelabra In ur cart. U found some amazing thrifts

I think the cruet is Planet by Model Flint Glass Co. If I’m right, do I get to buy it? 😏
Our thrift shops in Michigan have nothing!
Scott, have you ever been to the classic dinner in Hudson, NY.?
I have not.
I’ve been to that diner in Hudson NY. The whole town is a wonderful place to shop and dine.
