Hey Scott, off the subject, how much for the metal folk art NY Empire building? Can’t remember which video it was but you also showed some 78’s in that one. Thanks, Freda
Right! There are also lines sometimes from the straw they used to pack the glass as well. I’m not sure why the straw was part of the process but that’s what I was taught.
Can I just say Thank You for talking about Carnival Glass? My mom and grand mom both collected it, and I inherited most of it. You are the first ‘picker’ I have seen on TH-cam that even acknowledges the existence of Carnival Glass. I appreciate that so much! ❤
its 1946 -- im 8 my brother is 4 -- grandparents had a wind up victrola -- record was "pretty kitty kelly" -- we learned all the words and put on a show for the grownups -- irish brogue and all -- and i can still sing it now at 85 -- grama taught me "trees" written by a poor boy killed in the war down by the trees where the whipperwills called -- hot drippy iowa nights -- lightning bugs in a jar -- corn fields to the horizon -- so long ago -- all gone now
"I bought her for sympathy." Socket not supposed to be in her head. I couldn't help but giggle. Feeding a one-eyed squirrel. Scott, you are a sweetheart. ❤
I was very moved by the folk art metal train/village props and buildings. Whoever made these worked hard on them with love and it shows. It made me sad to think things like this get discarded. 😢 God planned for you to find these treasures so they'll to the right home. I sound like I'm talking about someone leaving a baby on your doorstep. Lol. Thank you Scott.
Wowsa Scott !!!!!You really did rock the Kasbah!🎉 I would love to tagalong with you when you shop. You have the coolest thrift stores in your neck of the woods. Hope your tooth extraction heals quickly. Thanks again for taking us along shopping and for your little porch haul😊
Hey, Scott - greetings from the UK. What a great haul. Love the wooden box with the maritime painting on the lid. That type of imagery never fails to make me think of my long-departed dad (who spent his youth in the navy, and retained a life-long love of the sea and sailing). Can so empathise re the tooth situation! The old metal filling liberating itself from whence it has nestled for decades... The discovery that the tooth is cracked... The extraction... Yep - been there. Wishing you speedy healing, before you get too fed-up of the soft foods!
Whoopee Fizz Brigade?... That, right there, is why we love your content and keep coming back for more… Scott, you are one in a million! Also, thank you for rescuing the altered ‘clock topper’ (I think she ‘might’ be depicting the Greek Goddess, Erato, the Muse of lyric poetry ?) I hope that you take that ridiculous socket out of her head and return her to her original purpose adorning a mantel clock. I think she's wonderful!... Finally, I love that you take such good care of the birds and squirrels that come to visit you... If they could 'talk', they would most certainly thank you for your sweet kindness and, of course, the peanuts! Thank you for another charming video and let's have a Record Party soon! 😍
Thank you Scott for another great video. I love your squirrel friend that you’re feeding. I love the houses maybe a father made them for Xmas or birthday (I’d like to think so). Back when you made gifts. Salem 🐈⬛😊
Love your little squirrel friend 🥰🥰🥰 I love animals so much!! Glad you take care of them too😊❤️ that candy dish with the metal lid is spectacular! Can’t wait to see that filled with spice drops for Christmas ❤️💚 Jeff❤
How sweet you are to give your friend, the one eyed squirrel a peanut. We had to get rid of many due to the fact they were chewing up the exterior causing much damage..... we have a black one in a different location. Its nice to watch them. One is grey with white tips on its ears, unique as ever. 🎉
Love your squirrel. We have 2 little piny squirrels who think they're in charge of our peanut feeder. They valiantly guard the peanuts from the blue jays (4 of them). In between blue jays they fight each other for peanuts. They unite against birds but squabble amongst themselves. Love the little houses.
The box with the sailing ships is excellent. When my husband passed I looked in his manly accoutrements. Quite a treasure trove: A money clip I had given him, stray fuses for dashboards, His wedding ring due to the fact he worked with machinery, a Devo pin from the 80s, a small Allen wrench and a ticket stub to a concert we saw together. I always wondered what was in there. His personality was!! 🙏🏻❤️
I seem to remember, that the clock topper lady should be Diana the huntress, because I have recently seen a painting of her, where she also had the star on her forehead😊 Beautiful finds! I've got my eye on some great stuff myself, that I will pick up in a day or two 😁
Hi Scott! I recognized the poppies plate when you picked it up. I have a large console bowl with feet in purple with gold decoration with the Northwood mark. What a score!
I hope by now your tooth area is feeling alot better. As someone who has had everything dental under the sun done I can feel for your misery!! While we should be respectful and kind with each other we can laugh sometimes too!
Hi Scott! In regards to your plants out on your porch your parlor palm will tolerate 50° anything below that will harm it especially if it’s by a window a door or anywhere where it can get a cold draft. If your ferns a Boston fern, basically the same thing. Most house plants can’t tolerate anything below 50°.
The most charming by far is your kind heart feeding your one-eyed lady squirrel. You find the most wonderful pieces. The folk art is a treasure. Despite the different scale I think I would keep the entire set together. I envision them at opposite ends of a train set up with one end being the village and in the distance a city. Just my thoughts…I’m intrigued by the two marches on the one 78 record you purchased. My retired band director husband loves obscure marches and was well known for finding them and performing them at contests with his bands as part of his adjudged concert performances throughout his 43 year career. You’re an accomplished musician so I know you will appreciate his niche. I’m so sorry you lost a tooth and are enduring the healing process. Instant mashed potatoes and soft scrambled eggs are a definite improvement over broth!
Scott, you truly made a terrific set of purchases! I'm also a sucker for the miniature folk art houses you obtained. Since the 2 skyscrapers are quite different than the houses, you might consider selling them separately in that they'll likely appeal to a different buyer - just a thought I had.
Just found you today. Loved all the items you showed, and learning more tidbits about the glassware. When you stopped filming to go feed your favorite squirrel, I said "Yep, he's one of 'my' people", so I subscribed. I also have a nice little collection of 78's, too! Happy thrifting, and I hope there's a bidding war over your Carneval Glass plate!
Gosh, this was a fun 59 minutes. The footed dish with the sterling lid is easily my favorite, maybe Heisey...I hope someone has an idea. The metal/steel(?) folk art buildings are just perfect. A lot of thought and good old fashion stick-to-itiveness went into crafting them. Sorry, tooth problems are the absolute worst. I think through the years I've made at least a few of my dentist's boat payments. Thank you for sharing your finds.
My favorites are the handmade, folk art buildings because they are one of a kinds. They remind me of Putz houses, but better. Enjoy your potatoes with gravy. When I lose a tooth, I have ice cream! Take care of yourself Scott.
Love the squirrel and love that you feed her. I have rescued several baby squirrels, including a flying squirrel, and they are so fun. Oh, and love the thrift "finds', as well.
Hi Scott I recently saw two EXACT Northwoods carnival Glass green poppy plates on eBay one for $3,000 the other for $1,500 “ Buy it now” I don’t think they’re that valuable but if I were you I’d not price too low unless your just wanting a quick buck lol cause you never know that right person comes along , anyways I love your channel and bungalow style I’m a reseller / antique fanatic too 30+ years and I’m only 42 so I started young lol 😂, Happy Holidays 🎄🎅🏻😀👍
I have actually looked at the "sold" listings and they are consistently selling for between 150 to 400 on average. I'm happy to just place it up for auction and let the collectors take it where they may. I appreciate you looking out for me and thanks so much for watching!
I inherited a set of china from Occupied Japan. It is beautiful. I have given it to my daughter since she does the big dinners now. I'm always looking for fairy lamps in the wild. I have two but they were from a vintage mall not a thrift store.
Lovely welcome visit with you Scott 🥰. Glad your tooth episode didn’t dampen your New York adventure. Fortunately I only had one impacted wisdom tooth & boy was it a doozy 😱! Really don’t know how anyone survives doing all four at once 🫣. Glad you’re on the mend. So many interesting & beautiful things tonight & best of all I learned so much. You are very kind to share your knowledge & your company 🙏.
The set of homemade houses are wonderful Scott! So glad you rescued them. Don’t you want to keep them? Then the squirrel! And then your great family memories. You are so special. My niece was at ECU when you were. Why didn’t you two meet?!❤
This was my first time to watch one of your videos and I have really enjoyed it. I liked all the content and your voice is very pleasant to listen to as I crochet. Thank you for the entertainment and the light antique lessons, I enjoyed it! 😊
Dont know if you check comments of this months ago but love love listening and learning from you. Me, Mildred rhat lives in a 1920 bungalow house. Thank you❤
I never heard or saw safety pin art before this week & including what you showed holding the basket & another utube person showing the Christmas tree she bought, now I have seen 2. Amazing what you can learn.
Randy was here. Nice content flavor with the sit, show and tell of curiosities. This and that shut in period of 2020 beginnings is why i started following. ....Thanks 👋🤠
I love the small candy jar. My favorite over all, are the cornucopias. And special mention for the little houses. Made with love. I hope they are purchased for someone like you, who loves their old train set. About your dental woes, blenders are made for times like this! Luckily the mouth heals quickly. Take care! And nextbtime your away, id love to hear some of the comedy recordings along with the music.
I absolutely love the records. What a time capstone music and social experience. I am so excited for you on the Norwood Green Poppy desgin platters. I wish there was carnival glass out here on the west coast. I believe it had something to do with price people coming out West called it fancy glass. I guess it must have been expensive. Hope you feel better soon. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
I'm probably the only one to say but I did like the tacky safety pin and bead basket. I thought it was cute and had potential 😃 Love to watch your shopping!
Hey Scott! Loved all your finds today and that carnival glass is Amazing! Also I love your new cap! Love the great new styling of the old baseball cap. Looks really good ( not frayed …yet!! lol 😂). Hope you’ve recovered from the extraction, yikes!
My mom had Tupperware. Most of it’s gone. Unfortunately. I’ve gotten more vintage Tupperware from my mother-in-law and from my daughter-in-law who used to have to clean out houses that were repossessed. I love my vintage Tupperware. I’ve gotten a few pieces of thrift store.
thank Scott for this visit…Really enjoy your “records” segment…If I remember correctly, some of the Ted Lewis shellacs had a silver / black label with an image of Ted Lewis donning a top hat…(?). I think. Billy Murray often appeared uncredited on records as well…Just a thought.
Oh yes old Ted Lewis had a silver label series on Columbia. And you are also correct that Billy Murray is often heard with no credit given to his name.
In my mom’s stuff I found a piece like those carnival glass pieces you are showing and I don’t know what it is really because it’s not marked however. If I had to say a pattern, it would be Sunburst, but the colors are kind of teal and purple. It’s a very beautiful piece and I did Google photo it. The one thing I hate about TH-cam is that you can’t share photos here you have to go to a different platform.
So much to want here. I’m picky about carnival glass; the poppies plate is great. Love the little candy jar with silver top. The metal buildings look so much like what my father would make. Nostalgia. I smiled at your sympathy for the clock topper. I’ve bought more than once just to give some less than perfect things a good home.
The carnival glass plate is not cracked. If you think it is, you are seeing the light reflect off of a mold line. Don't worry.....it's not cracked.

Scott sometimes it feels like we’re real life friends and the end of the video is like… what? You have to go?🤣
So laid back and a great person, teaching us all the information on the items. I hope he is very healthy and wealthy in his future.
Wow! Your first fairy lamp purchase? First Tupperware tumblers? TamTam says “You’re welcome”.
Yes! Thank you dear Tammy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi David!
its 1946 -- im 8 my brother is 4 -- grandparents had a wind up victrola -- record was "pretty kitty kelly" -- we learned all the words and put on a show for the grownups -- irish brogue and all -- and i can still sing it now at 85 -- grama taught me "trees" written by a poor boy killed in the war down by the trees where the whipperwills called -- hot drippy iowa nights -- lightning bugs in a jar -- corn fields to the horizon -- so long ago -- all gone now

That was an amazing share.
Ah memories. I’m about the same age as you so some memories the same.
"I bought her for sympathy." Socket not supposed to be in her head. I couldn't help but giggle. Feeding a one-eyed squirrel. Scott, you are a sweetheart. ❤
@@Boyhowdy875 Well, of course. Congratulations on being obvious. Scott is compassionate, among others. 😊

I love that you stopped the video to give your one eyed squirrel a peanut! ❤❤
Love the background music, perfect not to loud and very gentle soft tunes! Thank you!
Glad you like it!
Love all your finds today, but the handmade miniature houses are wonderful. Someone put time and love into making them.
I totally agree!
All the beautiful items and all I want to know is the story of the person who made the metal village 😊 and hope they go to a loving home 🏡❤
Bless you for giving peanuts to the one eyed squirrel!!!
I Love you take care of the squirrels and birds 🐿🐿
Hello my Jersey Friend. Its always a pleasure to watch your videos
Hi Geno my Jersey brother!!!!!!!!!!!!
You poor fella! I feel your pain with that dratted tooth that had to be pulled! Feel better soon!
Those home made little houses are a great find. I especially like the sky scrapers, they are the bee’s knees!
I heard angels sing when you held up the candy jar with the sterling silver lid. That took my breath away ❤️
Hey, Scott - greetings from the UK.
What a great haul. Love the wooden box with the maritime painting on the lid. That type of imagery never fails to make me think of my long-departed dad (who spent his youth in the navy, and retained a life-long love of the sea and sailing).

It will be interesting to see how the carnaval glass gets up to on EBay! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Scott for another great video. I love your squirrel friend that you’re feeding. I love the houses maybe a father made them for Xmas or birthday (I’d like to think so). Back when you made gifts. Salem 🐈⬛😊
The folk art village is epic! Loved the red glass bowl w/it’s underpants, stunning 🤩
Love your little squirrel friend 🥰🥰🥰 I love animals so much!! Glad you take care of them too😊❤️ that candy dish with the metal lid is spectacular! Can’t wait to see that filled with spice drops for Christmas ❤️💚
Jeff❤
I don't think of my grandmother when I see safety pin crafts but I do think of Yvon-Thrifty Rich! What a collection she has.
How sweet you are to give your friend, the one eyed squirrel a peanut. We had to get rid of many due to the fact they were chewing up the exterior causing much damage..... we have a black one in a different location. Its nice to watch them. One is grey with white tips on its ears, unique as ever. 🎉
Halting the showto feed the one-eyed squirrel is the coolest thing ever.
A very fun, and delightful Vlog! So many fascinating treasures! The records are delightful! Thank you for sharing!

Dear Scott; That Tupperware set is the original colors . The box could have originally held stationary . They were popular and I think their nice too.
You always find such amazing treasures.
I seem to remember, that the clock topper lady should be Diana the huntress, because I have recently seen a painting of her, where she also had the star on her forehead😊 Beautiful finds! I've got my eye on some great stuff myself, that I will pick up in a day or two 😁
Wow! What a find! That’s fantastic.
The lamp base which is a clock topper is nice.ElegantThe drapped cloth is what does it for me.
Oohh the voice of Jimminy Cricket. The red/brown records.Never see that before.Lovely
The record labels are works of art.
I like the variety you post.
Hi Scott! I recognized the poppies plate when you picked it up. I have a large console bowl with feet in purple with gold decoration with the Northwood mark. What a score!

Delightful chit chat. Love the music!
The house was a good buy with the sun moving around the house etc.A wise man to choose it.
The vase was inscribed Sister Muriel de Lourdes, I think. Catholic school in my dark distant past! Take care darling xx

Stunning vace
We loved the Folkart buildings....they would have been fantastic in our "Prim" decor days. We call them treasures~
“Prim decor” sounds fascinating. Can you explain it/show it?
15 cans of broth……you’re becoming a prepper!;)
Lovely welcome visit with you Scott 🥰. Glad your tooth episode didn’t dampen your New York adventure. Fortunately I only had one impacted wisdom tooth & boy was it a doozy 😱! Wow amazing carnival dish

Beautiful things. Loved the matching vases and the metal houses. I wish I was a Rockefeller and had a big place so I could buy all your pretties!!💕
I never heard or saw safety pin art before this week & including what you showed holding the basket & another utube person showing the Christmas tree she bought, now I have seen 2. Amazing what you can learn.
Great haul, Scott.
Great haul Scott! Love to watch your shopping and subsequent hauls. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Will do!
I enjoyed every moment, carnival glass
I’m a new fan from Philly I love your channel and personality
Randy was here. Nice content flavor with the sit, show and tell of curiosities. This and that shut in period of 2020 beginnings is why i started following. ....Thanks 👋🤠
Much appreciated!
My cousins had those tupperware cups. Loved drinking cherry kool-aid out of them!!
Great video!

I wish there was carnival glass out here on the west coast. I believe it had something to do with price people coming out West called it fancy glass. I guess it must have been expensive. Hope you feel better soon. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
Eggnog would be wonderful outta that frosted candy jar!
I'm probably the only one to say but I did like the tacky safety pin and bead basket. I thought it was cute and had potential 😃 Love to watch your shopping!
You’re so awesome Scott, Merry Christmas!
Hey Scott!
Loved all your finds today and that carnival glass is Amazing! Also I love your new cap! Love the great new styling of the old baseball cap. Looks really good ( not frayed …yet!! lol 😂). Hope you’ve recovered from the extraction, yikes!

What happened to the carnival glass swung vase? Did I miss it or wouldn't they sell it to you without a price sticker (at least I didn't see one)?
I did purchase the vase and might not sell it until next fall.
I really like the folk art pieces.❤
thank Scott for this visit…Really enjoy your “records” segment…If I remember correctly, some of the Ted Lewis shellacs had a silver / black label with an image of Ted Lewis donning a top hat…(?). I think. Billy Murray often appeared uncredited on records as well…Just a thought.
Oh yes old Ted Lewis had a silver label series on Columbia. And you are also correct that Billy Murray is often heard with no credit given to his name.
I thought you got the hurricane vase. The carnival glass one.
Just started watching your channel, enjoy your funny and informative info and your love of the carniva & clear glass pieces, 1 eyed squirrel 😂
Thanks and welcome!!!!!

Merry Christmas Scott 🎉🎉
Awesome find
In my mom’s stuff I found a piece like those carnival glass pieces you are showing and I don’t know what it is really because it’s not marked however. Hi Scott. A year later, what did the Carnival Glass Plate actually sell for ?
I'm so curious. Thnx
Love the red glass pieces but the houses are exceptional! Thank you for keeping them together.
Glad you like them!
