You forgot that homeless people have to worry about if the food is poisonous or not. There's a lot of people who put stuff that definitely isn't food in the food and homeless people can get very sick from it or even die
As a person who has been homeless but now in a shelter. Any meal after work is a joy and im so grateful to see people still have a heart to think about us people who are trying to get the basics in life. ❤

I agree. If it’s a cold sandwich, it’s way better not toasted. Once you toast your white bread, it’s crispy when eaten right away. But it gets a little too chewy when a toast gets cold. :/
don't let it stop you from helping, I lived on the streets of DC off & on & ate off the food trucks many times & then there were people like you that would pull up & walk the parks & streets at night handing out meals wrapped & ready to go sometimes 9 & 10 at night sometimes bringing there children to to help out, very nice people & the innocence eyes of the kids happy to help was a pick me up.
It took an asian guy to set up a whole food bank after standing in freezing cold to feed people hot meals. Then more and more people helped and companies also donated clothes even electrical goods to poor. The govt/council stopped him setting up same in Lindon saying they didnt need it here! What an angel and what an absolute disgrace ..now look at it here the charities cant meet food bank demand which is mainly cans..with zero nutritional value 😢😢😢

I've spent a lot of time being homeless. ANY gesture that's to help me in any way is ALWAYS appreciated. And Ican't ever remember once criticizing food unless it was rancid, which unfortunately does happen sometimes at food banks, but that is understood, and still appreciated for the effort

I don't have a lot, and I don't make a lot, but I'm not worried paycheck to pay heck, live below my means, and get to do art all day and sell whatever I want whenever I want. Just have to stay thinking outside the box. Going on my 8th anniversary to my wonderful husband and am actually making jewelry right now.... gonna get good enough to do some nice custom rings for our coming anniversary.

I am homeless myself and i wish i could get help. In my stste i keep getting pushed aside or put on waiting lists for help. I don't drink or do drugs. I lost my home due to a fire. I been living in my car and it's nightmare. I have been in the car during a snow storm and in negative 30 you don't even want to get up and out of the car to pee in the woods. I have ran out of gas trying to keep me and my dog warm and it's the opposite and the weather if it's like 80 degrees outside my car is like 100 and in the shade. I am hoping i don't die in my car. Then i hope my kids will sue the state. My kids don't live in the car with me. While living in a hotel after my house fire trying to call shelters for help and blowing threw my savings from paying out of poxket for the hotel and repairs to my house when i found out i couldn't make a claim due to the insurance being dropped i have to pay all the repairs to my house out of pocket. We had to rip out all the dry wall that had fire and smoke damage and replacing the windows that the fire dept smashed to get the smoke out and them i could see threw my attic to the roof and some areas of the roof was destroyed from the fire. I was in the hotel making calls and i heard a knock on the door and it wad dcyf/ cps took my kids. They said i was homeless but at that time i wasnt. I still had my home and i was paying for the hotel. Then the state said i missed 1 doctor apt for my son but i did rescheduled it. So fighting for my kids back i have to find a home to rent asap or i lose my kids and they will be adopted. I had 2 full time jobs and my husband gets disability but i lost my jobs during the pandemic but that doesn't make me a bad parent and i shouldn't of had my kids taken from me. I am going to sue the state and when i get paid i want to feed the homeless and help with some clean clothing and get them a hot shower and a hair cut. Those are the things i need the most and if i get lots of money from sueing i will be a advicate to the people who lose there kids for no reason !

Also, eggs, even tho they are cooked, can't be left at room temperature, the eggs are an easy place for bacteria to take hold. Always remember what ya learned as a 7 y/o: "GERMS ARE INVISIBLE!!" Also, germs are happy to find not-cold mayonnaise to set up shop. It's not worth the risk!

Idk if you know this but if you walk in Walmart or Kroger and say “I’m feeding the homeless” they’ll say “GREAT! Pay over there sir!! NOW!!” Doing a good deed like this is not free. These videos also allow people to see that their donations are actively going to feed homeless people and they have this video evidence of it.
It's admirable what your doing, feeding the poor says a lot about how good of a humanitarian you are, not everyone has kindness and compassion in their hearts, I rather untoasted bread for sandwiches... I do agree with you, but hes also getting something out of this besides good karma. Hes making money and growing a large following. So it might not be completely altruistic, but i believe it mostly is. And thats wayyy better than not doing anything at all

In LAC we actively go out and feed them 2x a day, they get fresh needles, a wash cycle, docs come to check up and tickets are paid by the church who get reimbursed from our taxes. What do you want them to do? Oh make rules saying u have to go get clean and follow rules in order to live in FREE housing. Free meaning to them? Most homeless ppl are on drugs and chose to do drugs. It’s a misconception that the majority got addicted through prescriptions. The ones BORN with mental issues don’t hang out as a group. The majority have burnt bridges with everyone in their life. Please tell me ur plan? U think for someone like me who came from a 3rd world slave village, watched women in my tribe get endlessly rpd and left even more destitute bc they are pregnant to become a refugee and get a shittier place than the homeless are handed at times to work super hard for the people who followed rules to take forever care of them? One homeless guy in Venice told me- why would I go live in those apt when I get fed, needles, clean clothes and ppl give me money? When I had the means to I would make breakfast sandwiches to hand out in the mornings, and serve hot soups at the public library in the evenings. Usually Vegetarian and meat options, always prepared separately. Then after time I began keeping a crockpot set to create easy to go portioned meals, and making large batches of hummus and pita bread. I cannot express the amount of folks who said how amazing it was to have a home cooked meal and that it made them feel human again. It's little things, yall. But they're SO big. Now I'm unable to do as much due to my own health, but I'm my apartment complexes pierogi fairy godmother. People gotta eat, and this is a low income area. Gotta look out.

My husband passed suddenly when my son was in the 9th grade. I could teach him how to measure but there was so so much more he needed. He got tired of asking other Dad’s, it just reminded him of his loss. It was heartbreaking. I cannot emphasize enough how much channels like yours are appreciated. Straightforward info without a mocking tone is hard to come by honestly. It’s helped my son and I immensely.
as a homeless guy myself.. i appreciate when anybody helps out with a meal.. yes i work but im saving for a place. so anybody so generous to give me a lunch to make it through the day is great, deff raises the morale to finish the day

There have been recent cases where people were arrested for handing out food to homeless people. I guess the cops were worried that there might have been drugs in the food packages. I been living in my car and it's nightmare. I have been in the car during a snow storm and in negative 30 you don't even want to get up and out of the car to pee in the woods. I have ran out of gas trying to keep me and my dog warm and it's the opposite and the weather if it's like 80 degrees outside my car is like 100 and in the shade. I am hoping i don't die in my car. Then i hope my kids will sue the state. My kids don't live in the car with me. While living in a hotel after my house fire trying to call shelters for help and blowing threw my savings from paying out of poxket for the hotel and repairs to my house when i found out i couldn't make a claim due to the insurance being dropped i have to pay all the repairs to my house out of pocket. We had to rip out all the dry wall that had fire and smoke damage and replacing the windows that the fire dept smashed to get the smoke out and them i could see threw my attic to the roof and some areas of the roof was destroyed from the fire. I was in the hotel making calls and i heard a knock on the door and it wad dcyf/ cps took my kids. They said i was homeless but at that time i wasnt. I still had my home and i was paying for the hotel. Then the state said i missed 1 doctor apt for my son but i did rescheduled it. So fighting for my kids back i have to find a home to rent asap or i lose my kids and they will be adopted. I had 2 full time jobs and my husband gets disability but i lost my jobs during the pandemic but that doesn't make me a bad parent and i shouldn't of had my kids taken from me. I am going to sue the state and when i get paid i want to feed the homeless and help with some clean clothing and get them a hot shower and a hair cut. Those are the things i need the most and if i get lots of money from sueing i will be a advicate to the people who lose there kids for no reason !

Anything with mayo needs to be *chilled*. Warm toast could turn it without you noticing. And the free sammich guy wd be long gone. Also, eggs, even tho they are cooked, can't be left at room temperature, the eggs are an easy place for bacteria to take hold. Always remember what ya learned as a 7 y/o: "GERMS ARE INVISIBLE!!" Also, germs are happy to find not-cold mayonnaise to set up shop. It's not worth the risk!

In LAC we actively go out and feed them 2x a day, they get fresh needles, a wash cycle, docs come to check up and tickets are paid by the church who get reimbursed from our taxes. What do you want them to do? Oh make rules saying u have to go get clean and follow rules in order to live in FREE housing. Free meaning to them? Most homeless ppl are on drugs and chose to do drugs. It’s a misconception that the majority got addicted through prescriptions. The ones BORN with mental issues don’t hang out as a group. The majority have burnt bridges with everyone in their life. Please tell me ur plan? U think for someone like me who came from a 3rd world slave village, watched women in my tribe get endlessly rpd and left even more destitute bc they are pregnant to become a refugee and get a shittier place than the homeless are handed at times to work super hard for the people who followed rules to take forever care of them? One homeless guy in Venice told me- why would I go live in those apt when I get fed, needles, clean clothes and ppl give me money?
I volunteered for 2 years before I stopped bc I was sick of no results. My plan would be to immediately force them into a rehab program the min they commit a crime and 99.9% have a usually stealing, public indecency etc., then force them into a program to get their shit together and for the mentally ill, not caused by drugs- have a place where they can get stable help.

When I had the means to I would make breakfast sandwiches to hand out in the mornings, and serve hot soups at the public library in the evenings. Usually Vegetarian and meat options, always prepared separately. Then after time I began keeping a crockpot set to create easy to go portioned meals, and making large batches of hummus and pita bread. I cannot express the amount of folks who said how amazing it was to have a home cooked meal and that it made them feel human again. It's little things, yall. But they're SO big. Now I'm unable to do as much due to my own health, but I'm my apartment complexes pierogi fairy godmother. People gotta eat, and this is a low income area. Gotta look out.

My husband passed suddenly when my son was in the 9th grade. I could teach him how to measure but there was so so much more he needed. He got tired of asking other Dad’s, it just reminded him of his loss. It was heartbreaking. I cannot emphasize enough how much channels like yours are appreciated. Straightforward info without a mocking tone is hard to come by honestly. It’s helped my son and I immensely.
