    I just graduated from high school and started a window cleaning business. I have done about 6 large houses(by myself) and each house averaged about 55/hr. I priced each window to be $6 inside and out and $2 per screen. Every house I cleaned was very impressed and thought the price was very very cheap. So I decided to raise my prices to $9/ window, inside and out and $3/screen. If you think about it as per hour, I make almost twice as much depending on the job. Now my new customers think the prices are fair(not cheap) and thats all I want to here because I do a great job. Why undersell my value and work right?

    I couldn't believe your prices/earnings in the USA. In the UK I am lucky to get $20 per hour cleaning windows. Nobody would pay $199 for their houses to be cleaned here in the UK. LOL. You live on another planet I think!

      @seventeen9718 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You aren't taking account how much people earn.
      Everything is inflated - they pay more for a window cleaner because they earn more, they also pay more for food, diesel, etc because economies scale

    • @manchestercity01
      @manchestercity01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Believe in your business and set your prices only to what your business requires. Each area you live in has a different price so just find out who is charging what in your area and set yours according to what you think is a fair price. My advice don't over charge.

    I really resonate with the “why doesn’t anyone talk about this ?” I like that and think that all the time. We waste time communicating with people about nonsense when there’s more to bring to the table

For atleast a year now i have charged $60ph for ground windows $80 for 1st floor windows (use of ladder), gutters cleaning, and pressure cleaning ground floor. $150 ph above ground roofs etc and $120 ph for water feed pole work im in australia and it is the best pre qualifying technique i have employed. Commercial reacuring jobs i provide with a flat price and quote from experience.

    I have a lawn mowing business and I do some power washing and I love your videos open my eyes to a lot of things. My problem is we live in a small town and back when I started 20 years ago there wasn't many mowers in my town. The year Obama took office. Everybody and their Uncle Buck started mowing grass. So it's a little harder for me to raise prices. Any suggestions? Also I was wondering about your window cleaning business what would be the best way to start that up. One suggestion for you to save you some time and expense I would have the customers when you clean inside the house. Move the furniture back from the windows. Would that work?

    I've been doing this for 3 seasons now. I was actually head hunted by a local place that wanted to pay me $35hr to be a foreman. It was hard to pass on that but I stuck to it. With new customers, I started charging more for window cleaning but offered other things like, half off for gutter cleaning(for first time customers) and service member discounts. But for a house, interior and exterior, I have to at least make $285. And if someone wants limited service, like just exterior or vise verse, my minimum is $185.
    I just did a new construction for $1582. Because you're cleaning concrete off glass from stone work and using the 32ft extension ladder because the deck is not built yet. They took my offer. And I bet I was the cheapest price.

Still havent got a call back yet, kind of sucks because we spet almost 10 hours or more walking and driving and spent a lot of money on gas and such.

    • @tyler3217
      @tyler3217 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All Day Son No need for insults, especially when you aren't understanding the question yourself. I assume his question isn't asking what his literal hourly wage is, rather what's your daily average of revenue/crew hours. The hours in this calculation isn't just his own, but for all production workers. Using revenue/work hours is key for business planning. You can compare the efficiency of different crews, see if you're spending too much time traveling between jobs, how much you can afford to pay hourly workers, help in tweaking your estimating calculations, ect.

      Jay don’t be silly would you pay 200 quid a month to have your windows cleaned. This is either bollocks or as we already know Americans are thick and lazy. Or they are not doing them once every 4 weeks. We ain’t tight just not silly. I charge a tenner for a 3 bed semi in Essex we do it in 5 mins so on a run you can have a touch. This clown is talking about charging $200 for a 2500 square foot house which funnily enough is the size of my house, if someone quoted me 200quid I’d think he was joking. It sounds like he travels miles to do his jobs mine are all local. £40 tops for my house in and out. Plus as you probably know you can’t charge by the size of the house , you charge by the amount of windows. He is talking about 7 dollars per window. How on earth can you justify that. I think more people in the uk have their windows done so there’s more awareness of what’s involved. In America the customer probably doesn’t move of the sofa so has no idea what’s involved in cleaning a window. This bloke is probably sitting outside making the job last a lot longer than necessary or he is clueless. Or shall we move to the states and clear up. I will be cheap at 100 per house I could earn 4,000 a day and not break a sweat. Its got to be bull shit.

      ONLY a certain percentage of clients allow us to video tape.
      Also.. I like to keep my liability low..
      Having like 500 videos on people's properties isn't a smart idea.
      I do it sparingly now. Sucks...
      But I have some crazy ass videos i took down bro.. lol

    Fucking rip off. $199.00 in and out on a 2500 square foot house. You wouldn’t get a job in England. Having read many of the comments I’m from assuming that cleaning windows in the states isn’t as straight forward as here in England. We do it every 4 weeks at a fraction of the cost , but I’m thinking it must be easier because we don’t have problems with it drying to quick and we work all through the year no time off for bad weather apart from the odd day here and there. Plus near enough everyone has them done so you couldn’t possibly charge what you lot do. As I say they must be stupid , for $200 they should do it themselves and save money. Could someone tell me how you can get away with charging this. There must be some factors I’m not taking into account. Is it really difficult or something because if your charging 7 dollars per window , in England with the correct equipment you can do a window , frames and sills in no more than 60 seconds. That’s 420 per hour. That’s 3,360 per day. Wtf?

    There are a few factors in starting a cleaning service from home. One resource I found that succeeds in merging these is the Ayalisse Clean Biz (google it if you're interested) it's the most useful plan i've heard of. look at all the interesting information.
