Coming from an MP collector...I wish I knew Legends was gonna blow up like this. Legends figures are so much more fun to play with, Less having to worry about breaking a 150$ figure lol
Yeah, they both have their place. I cannot see chosing legends over mp if you can afford mp, but legends are definitely fun. Plus, as bobby said, they are cool to put with the big combiners and city bots. I am collecting g1 in 3 scales: legends, mp, and os mp.
I'm personally gonna start collecting legends and I'm Gonna keep my combiners and city bots. Mp figs will be limited to must haves like fans hobby. BOBBY THIS WAS SOOOO HELPFUL
I collect Masterpiece. I started half-heartedly collecting Legends scale mainly because I needed 'affordable' items on my gift wish list. It also meant I finally had some figures to go with Unicron and THS-02 Optimus. I wouldn't consider filling holes with Hasbro Legends because because they don't look as good as 3rd party figures and they don't have anywhere near the poseability.
The problem I have with legends is the scaling is all over the place, even putting Iron Factory aside. Unlike MP, there's no base to build/agree upon from HasTak - once MP10 was released, everyone knew what their stuff had to go with. Hasbro's legends are meant to go with chug, not a tiny Optimus. Some work, but many don't.
Great topic and video, still a little meat left on the bone with this topic. I do both mp and legends, I have my legends displayed with Metroplex and Unicron, while my mps sit in detolfs. They both give a dramatic effect for different reasons. MPs look like true artwork and detolfs give it the museum kind of look while the look of legends next to a citybot gives a dramatic effect. Space is a problem for most of us (I only collect transformers and I am still running out of space) so legends are definitely worth considering. Interesting you only mention iron factory ( because of their stylized look) but they are a major player who have done a fantastic combiner. Side note, I believe 3p legends scale are better than mainline chug Again great topic.
Iron Factory has Cygnus for Jetfire, the Iron bros has Sunstreaker, and toyworld has Whiskey Jack, which is their interpretation of Wheeljack in legends size, so basically only Mirage is missing for the Autobot season 1 rooster :D
You could maybe fudge in the Robot Masters Mirage if you wanted to. the Star Saber and Victory Leo from the same line could fit nicely. Also I think Iron Factory has a Jazz.
I got into the Legends line this summer, and I wish I had done so sooner. I am now collecting both MP and Legends. I passed on Metroplex and Fort Max from Hasbro, but seeing how my legends look with Trypticon, I need to acquire those two now. I have Trypticon on a table with various Decepticon Legends on and about him, and it looks amazing that way. So yes, Fort Max and Metroplex are a big want now for the Autobot side of things. I am still going to collect MP's as well, but as impressive as they are on a shelf, Legends flat out are fun to mess around with and switch up the display with a city bot. Love this discussion, I hope your family vacation went well, Bobby!
Great topic to cover. I personally like all the different scales of the figures available out there. That said, I do tend to actually play around with the smaller scale bots, and they are much easier to display wherever room is available, you have a desk, put a bot on it, oh hey look at that two inch lateral space above a window doing nothing but collecting dust an holding up paint, put a bot on it. Or take one in your jacket pocket to work whatever suits ya. I also find that while kids love to look and play with the bigger bots, they tend to go with the smaller bot more often than not.
You've heard it before from me but I'm in for both. Besides some Voltron and a few pops, I exclusively collect Transformers. Ideally I want to have them in separate spaces but right now it's not possible. I love the idea of using the Hasbro Titans and I will definitely be stealing it, when I move. I think that would be dope! Thanks for another great discussion.
I agree there has to be a lot of planning before starting a collection. I started as a Soul of Chogokin collector and even though the line is still going, I'm just one figure away from the goals I set for myself. Almost a year ago I bought MP-10 because childhood nostalgia and because It's an impressive figure. But then I bought Maketoys Hound and once I got those two together I knew I was in trouble. lol. But I said to myself "If you are going to dive into collecting transformers you better set some goals and limits. Because there are just too many characters." So I decided to stick to the first two seasons since those two were before the movie that practically changed the lineup. So far, I've been able to respect those goals but man, it's been hard to resist all those FansToys characters from the movie. Specially their Galvatron and now Cyclonus. My main problem is display space. So I'm sticking to my guns for now and getting figures from just the first two seasons. I'm more than a half way to complete those goals. Though that XTB Boost/Wincharger is proving to be a pain in the ass to find. I have one preordered, but who knows when XTB is going to re-release that figure so fingers crossed.
This is an interesting Sit-down Saturday, particularly discussing how the different scales of G1-INSPIRED Transformers as well as official Transformers.
I collected originals back in the day, briefly started MP then discovered Legends - Sold my entire collection (Apart from my first ever G1 toy) And now I focus exclusively on Legend G1 Characters and I would highly recommend it. It’s an exciting time to collect Legend Scale, more than enough already released to keep you busy but also a steady stream of new releases to get excited about.
At one point I was collecting MP, CHUG, and Legends, but now it's just MP. My CHUG and legends are displayed in another room while my MPs remain in my office area. Yes, gimme that Trailbreaker and Blitzwing already Fans Toys! Haha! Great video!
Awesome discussion for new collectors. This is the reason I went the MP/3P route. I didn't go down the rabbit hole of Legends since, I would rather have the display presence of MP/3P, but I do appreciate them.
I've started down the Legends hole with DX9 and about to open it to magic square too. But I do have some MPs. Not nearly as many mind you but some. Otherwise it's a mix of Chug and G1 TFs. Working that Planet X shelf mack!
Nice Sit Down Saturday. I love the thought provoking topic and enjoy it just as much on the entertainment level. It’s like waking up to Saturday Morning Cartoons back in the 80’s, except it’s Bobby Skullface 😉. With that said, I collect mostly Masterpiece, but do indulge in some Iron Factory. However, I only collect Iron Factory to make my MP Titans (Devastator and Omega Supreme) look larger in my photos. So having some Legends sizes figures is more of a utilitarian move, rather than a collection move. Therefore, I’m able to keep my Legends collection relatively small. Take care and thanks again for another entertaining video.
Masterpiece and legends. Masterpiece for the size and shelf presence. Legends, honestly no other reason than i think they are cool. (and i'm a plastic crack junkie) That was a very thorough and complete break down of the legends, always impressed with your editing skills man!
I like the MP look, G1esque aside, but I find what I like about my collection is picking them up on business calls and converting back and forth. The MP lines aren’t really suited to do that- in fact they almost demand more posing and ridiculous transformations to accommodate end modes, so they aren’t fun to transform. The Legends on the other hand don’t suffer from that problem. They don’t make for a great posing in dioramas, but then the MPs are just staring off into space due to lack of shelf space so.... the CHUG always felt like the happy medium, when the 3Ps were servicing holes. Ah the good ol days.
I won't be touching Third Party Legends for the same reason I cleansed myself of CHUG: Masterpiece is better in every way that matters. Because of this, I have a hard time thinking of CHUG as a "collection" in terms of a "collection" being something worth displaying. CHUG are toys, and I see Third Party Legends in the same way: they're just toys. Hopefully my peers all innately know and understand the difference between a "collection" and "toys"; don't be pedantic just to be difficult. Anyway, I appreciate your Sit Down Saturdays. These conversation topics are great, and it's one of the best things you do. I know that there are discussions on podcasts and such, but the chaotic nature of them with people talking over each other is obnoxious; your Sit Down Saturdays are better. Good job.
Speaking of display Uncle B, I'd love to hear how, and how often, you maintain your display. How do you dust? How often? What do you recommend for that? Do you prefer detolfs or bookshelves/other shelves? Stuff like that!
I just got into transformers collecting, I was always a big fan but before there just wasn't a proper scale and line. Ever since MP-10 from what I've heard that's when things changed and all the third party companies used him as measuring tool to design there figures in terms of scale and aesthetics. My personal dilemma is that I never really read the idw comics and there some really amazing figures but they don't really match up well with the MP line. So am kinda torn because I'll buy that bomber megatron and that op ex, carnifex, but they'll probably sit in a different shelf. Just wanted to say I really love these types of video, you absolutely destroyed it in the Menasor comparison video. Also maybe you should do a video on MP and IDW, kinda like this video. As always thank you for the upload and please do not take serious if I troll a little, is just my way of giving feedback.🐱🚀🐱🐉🐱👓
I sold off all my CHUG stuff and focus solely on MP and Legends. By the by, MFT put out a Legends scale Springer. It's not entirely G1, but it's one of their few non-KO figures.
I started collecting Mech Fans Toys, Iron Factory and a lot of others Legend scale figures because i think it's the only way to get the correct scale with combiners and city bots, if you have the fans toys Phoenix he doesn't scale well with some combiners because he is already tall, and when you buy the bigger combiners like toyworld devastator then he doesn't scale with Metro plex and other city bots, so that's why i started collecting legend figures, Mech Fans Toys and Magic Square are making their figures as close to looking like the mp line, and for the price i couldn't beat that. have you seen the new Ultra Magnus from Papa toys? a lot of those holes you where saying Mech Fans Toys and others have covered, there is a Springer, wheeljack and a bunch of others that are out now, that's why i'm loving that scale.
I also collect the Mech Fans Toys too for the exact same reasons you stated in your comments. I also a fan of the MP-Inspired Transformers, as well as the official Takara and Hasbro MPs. But considering on what type of G1 Transformers one collects, space, time, and definitely money plays a huge role in collecting game.
Man, has the scene changed even more since this video. I collect both Legends, MP and regular release, I don't have hardly any of it on display yet. I have a lot of legends on my desk at work. Love the Newage, a lot of Magic square and the later DX9 stuff. I generally only do Official MP, with most of my 3rd Party purchasing being dinobots, Comics characters that will never see the light of day otherwise (MMC) and other odd bits that I can't talk myself out of buying
I tried skimming through the comments and didn't see a mention of this, Magic Square announced Hoist, Mirage, Hound, Wheeljack, Jazz, Prowl, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen in August and September.
Ever since Magic Square came out I've been doing MP and Legends. I did pick up the DX9 Dinobots for pure novelty way back in the day but now with MS releasing really good figures I'm picking them up "just in case". MS is my backup plan in case one day I have to purge my MP collection due to life, will at least have something that's a great representation of G1.
Another insightful video covering an interesting topic. I have both a Legends and Masterpiece-scale collection going. Being in the military and dealing with the constant moving, space/logistics/price are always a concern. My masterpiece collection had to have a specific focus of the Ark Crew and the Cons from the Battle of Autobot City from the '86 movie (still waiting on a more faithful Astrotrain and a better Blitzwing, though). I also have to have space for all of the MP boxes, because the movers suck @ss. Legends-scale are lot less restrictive- I stopped keeping those small-@ss boxes so when it's time to move again I can literally put all of them in a footlocker and keep moving. Love the channel!
I'm only collecting G1 season 1 of the Cons. It's a mix of KO's and official releases and 3rd party. I have had all the Seekers and Coneheads but sold them off to be able to make room and afford the Make Toys versions of the Seekers(I can't remember if they are or will be making the Coneheads) and also Star Wars collecting cuts into my TF collecting as well.
Understanding of childhood traumas that has lead to a connection to meaningless shit... This. As a soon-to-be 40 year old, this is exactly where I have been for the last several years since the MP scale came out.
I collect a little of everything. Generations, MP, legends, iron factory (separate from my other legends due to aesthetic), and (take it easy now) oversized ko legends. Not to mention my vintage/reissue G1 collection. Then at my office I have some additional legends of both 3P and Hasbro. While I am not a completist, I have a lot of duplicates of the characters I like.
There are legends scaled options for Jetfire too, Cygnus is one, and if you want a smaller one you could go for Robot Masters R-Blade which is the same mold as G2 Hooligan and Jetfire but has the G1 Jetfire colours. Personally I'd go with Cygnus as Jetfire is supposed to tower over most other Transformers.
I'm in on Masterpiece and Legends. I am actually considering shifting completely to Legends but the Masterpiece look so awesome on my shelves. That said, I have a sizable collection of Legends on just one shelf. Dx9,, New Age and Magic Square are really good. Magic Square came out swinging and haven't stopped yet actually. Magic Square also teased a lot of G1 Autobot cars. When their Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen come out, I'm throwing the set you mentioned in the trash. They are just plain bad, but they fill in character slots for now.
I tried doing both for scaling with non transformer stuff but it's to much of a hassle, I am now moving more towards masterpiece and working on making the rest fit that instead of vice versa.
I do both. I like Masterpiece more, over all, but I'm such a sucker for base modes that when I got Metroplex and Trypticon, I had to get legends scaled figures to go with them. Plus they go so well with my old Impossible Toys Spike & Sparkplug. :D
Great video, here's an idea for how to display them as a child I preferred the smaller line so what I did with the Decepticons is turned an old wardrobe into a Decepticon Fortress and that's what I'm doing now and there is plenty of space (go for ones with built in shelves) and even Trypticon and Scorponok can rest on top. Another thing you could potentially do is find some old large play sets that you might have had as a kid, I for one worked with a big Optimus Prime helmet, a 9 floor car park set, an Optimus Prime Truck gun and a bunch of other stuff, it looked nice and one day I might attempt to recreate it (this was also kid me keep in mind)
And to add to your point, Madhous Toys had a VERY impressive Iron Factory diorama at TFCon this year. Check them out on FB ( facebook.com/pg/madhaus.collectibles/photos/?tab=album&album_id=902707836604647 )
Great vid. I had toyed with the idea of adding a legends collection to add to my mp one but wont be going all in. Instead I'm mostly using them to get idw representations of some of the characters now, which is working out nicely.
Hope you enjoyed your vacation. Considering all my interest, if I could do it all over again I'd either really restrict my MP collection or do legends. Magic Square has been great. I've bought a few legend, more so for something to mess with during slow parts of the year
Fantastic discussion. I’m at the road where I had to sell my MPs because of bills. I’ve thought about when I come back to TFs is to get into legends being the siege line looks so good.
I feel like I'm the black sheep of the community in that I don't collect based on scale, or design, or anything like that. If I like the way it looks, and I can afford it, I get it. And then I find a space for it. And if I can't find a space, I make space somewhere else. I've never really cared about whether or not a figure scales well with Masterpiece or Legends or whatever. I just want Transformers.
"The smaller the figure the harder it is to display." - Some skullfaced dude. I didn't know I was going to collect Transformers, but now I own all Masterpiece from Season 1 only.
Great (albeit brief) video. My MP collection is nearly complete, and ending with Season 3. I pick up the occasional stragler outside of this for aesthetic and/or sentimental reasons; for example, I just picked up Maketoys Tailgate because he's adorable in the IDW comics. It was expensive and takes up space, but no regrets. However, I cannot help but think that I'd be fine with the impressive Legends scale pieces coming out currently if I were just starting out. My wallet sure would be. Also, I've made peace with the fact that we may never get a proper Alpha Trion.
I really wish I had gone with legends scale, but 8 years ago that wasn't really an option, so I'm "stuck" with MP. Selling isn't a very viable option as shipping from my country is extremely expensive, and the "scene" here is very very small
Your forgot to mention these legends size options, Iron Factory Bridge Watcher (Shockwave) and Tengu (Sixshot). Hot Soldiers Soundtrack (Soundwave) fits too.
I'm very close to the point of reducing my MPs to a few centerpieces and going whole hog into legends if MS keeps knocking it out of the park. I only collect bots, and this would let me feel better about branching out to "just cool robots" like the MT Cross Dimension stuff, because, well, right now friggin' MPs take up all the space.
I appreciate the whole Legends Boom, and Magic Square in particular does a commendable job in making nicely crafted figures, but I just can't help but feel that they look like children's toys. Iron Factory is sort of the darling of the Legends collecting world and I think they're the biggest offender in that regard; they look very much like toys. And at over $30 for most, , its no insignificant impulse buy. A lot of them don't even look that much better than Classics and its successor lines, even with added articulation.
Also I thought the iron factory shock wave was a good g1 representation. You can mix and match a g1 legends set with what's out there I feel. But we're always going to have holes. This will always be an issue the completionists nightmare.
Masterpiece scale for life! Man o man can you imagine just starting out now? 10 years ago when we MP fans were starting out at least we had the luxury to watch being rolled out
I going in on legends and MP. My space is limited and I plan to display the legends cast with my MP scale fanstoys/Zeta/Toyworld combiners and in a seperate billy, have my MP collection. Been thinking of buying a legends scale combiner team as a display as if they are merging to combine in MP scale if that makes sense.
Great topic and video! I just started collectung again and went legends scale. I have a variety of 3rd parties and Hasbros, love the MFTs & HS figures. Plus for value and price i get what i can afford. My wife has also been cool about collecting. :)
There are times I look at my collection and wish I'd gone the legends route. Mainly because of the space they'd take up, and since the focus of my collection is based some what on IDW's run, Iron Factory along with the other 3p companies would have me covered. But I'm too deep to hit reset.
So no Iron Factory mentions even where they can kinda work for G1 with figures like Shockwave and Sixshot? Also, Takara delivered a legends scale Shockwave (LG24) repaint of the Hasbro CW Legends Shockwave that looks better color-wise.
I really like the 3rd party legends but I like my giant robot toys to feel substantial in my hands, I used to collect gundam high grades but they felt too small and fiddley so I stopped & I feel like legends might be the same way( that magic square transporter is calling my name tho hot damn)
I for one collect both. Started to collect legends more due to space. And with a newborn, money. The only problem I am having with my legends collection is that not enough Decepticons. I am using the master made city bots for well my city bots. I think they scale well. I am also to use the MMC skylynk. Also. I am not to sure if I should do Season 1 & 2 Autobots and Decepticons and season 3 & 4 Autobots and Decepticons together? But great video.
Missing a lot of Legends class figures in the sum up. For example, Iron Factory has a Sunstreaker, a combaticons set and a Blitzwing; Toyworld a Wheeljack; MFT has a Springer. And that's just what I can think of immediately.
Honestly I had a few MPs when I bought my first Hasbro Legend a couple years ago, and it blew me away what i got for $10. It was a fun to transform, tiny version of Cosmos, and it was a lot more comfortable to spend that kinda money on a plastic robot vs spending hundreds on MPs. Compared to the crap toys we played with in the 80s, modern Legends are MPs! Hasbro Legends since about Combiner Wars have been pretty decent, as long as you're okay with tightening up a joint with a bit of paint here and there. Imo they look fine on the shelf, posed or not. And who can stay away from Iron Factory? Their toys are phenomenal imo, and their Starscream was my favorite rendition of the character until the upcoming Flame Toys Starscream. :)
G1 collectors are so spoiled for choice. I do like the idea of a Legends collection especially considering they look so good next to Hasbro's titan class. And like Bobby said the possibility of a complete 1-4 show cast of Masterpiece seems like it may never happen (or take another 10 years). For me I am avoiding G1 and Bayverse. I have narrowed my transformers displays to only Beast Wars, BW Neo and II, RID 01 and Armada which were the main Transformers shows on when I was a kid. I have such a bigger connection to those shows over G1 and Bayverse. Happy for collectors of G1 though.. I wish I could join you sometimes.. but I can't get into it lol.
It’s funny. I was part of that G1 toy craze as a kid but at that time I didn’t get much time with the show, so my preferences are anti G1 aesthetics. The market seems flooded with that junk and it’s really crazy because the show animators didn’t draw to any clear scale or design and to think that we are basing the bulk of the third party market on those arbitrary elements is ludicrous. The 3P producers is such a small group and they always seem to be competing with each other needlessly, chasing that high end collector dollar. I’m happy for those guys that can budget a couple of thousand per month for a hobby, but sad for those who can’t and have been priced out of the hobby. It’s really a sad state. But I guess if the 3P ever coordinated better HasTak would be in trouble too. It was exciting times 4 years ago, the 3P world sucked me back into collecting. Now about all I can afford are the HasTak stuff 😂 oh well.
Iron Factory has Shockwave (I have the MFT upscale), its close enough to g1. And as for Rumble, Frenzy, and Ravage, the official mp ones scale perfect in my legends collection. In my mp scale collection, I have the ox max versions.
I know the logistics of MP collecting have been bothering me more lately. When they're on display, it's great, but if you have to store them or if you're moving, MPs get to be a pain in the ass real quick, what with making sure they're not going to be scratched up or damaged in the process. (You could keep all the boxes, but you'll end up with a hell of a lot of empty boxes to shove in a closet somewhere if you're trying to get the whole G1 cartoon lineup.) So a legends collection looks tempting from that angle. Now, it'd look a lot more tempting if Hasbro's Metroplex and Trypticon actually scaled to each other. I've also contemplated starting a CHUG collection roughly scaled around the WFC Siege Prime and Megatron as a middle ground for having figures that aren't super-tiny but don't present the MP logistical (and possible never-completion) issues. But, damn it, the MPs look so good.
Surprised Iron Factory didn't come up here, because honestly I feel Bridge Watcher and Burning Slug fit in great for Shockwave and Warpath's slots in a Legends scale G1 collection
I started out trying to collect mp,chug, legends. Then the mp resizing happened which kinda negates chug imo as they're so close in size again imo. So I took a look at the collection at that point which really was the 1st mp prime megs and the 3 ss seekers. The reality is I started with mp as a way to add to my alternators. I got that thq prime and wanted just a couple of legends to display with it. I made the choice to collect mp that scale with the alternators as much as one can because you know " scale " and again I try and guide my chug collection to display a sense of "scale" as for legends using the thq prime as the base for scaling legends until metroplex hit at which point I abandoned legends as trying desperately to give a sense of scale within mp/alt with human alliance thrown in ,and chug is frustrating enough with out trying to tackle the anything is possible scale of the current legends
Bobby, I brought a set of Targetmaster Decepticons (Triggerhappy, Misfire, and Slugslinger to Dalainjj in a private conversation and he said that they will consider them in future releases. So at least it’s been brought to his attention. If ANYONE is gonna do that set I’d rather it be Fanstoys. The heft and build of Them would be amazing. Maketoys needs to finish off the Autobot Targetmaster’s. As far as MPs vs Legends, I’ve thought about the Legends but I’m so many years into the MP line that I’d rather keep that as a main focus. Besides, in between releases I have preordered I like to buy doubles and display the characters in both sometimes all modes.
Hey Bobby.. your ever watched the TH-camr called Paper Patriot... Remy watches him and he does some pretty awesome figure articulated designs from just paper.. pretty detailed..
I am surprised Mech Fans Laserwave, Springer, Megatroun, Kup and Omega were left out as well as Toyworlds Wheeljack dropping next month. I get Omega not being included if its a scale thing buy the rest scale just fine if you are ok with Magic Square's scaling. I collect the gamut, legends to masterpiece. But it has to be something special for me to drop coin on a masterpiece figure.
Coming from an MP collector...I wish I knew Legends was gonna blow up like this. Legends figures are so much more fun to play with, Less having to worry about breaking a 150$ figure lol
True, but like Bobby said; display wise it is so much better to look at.
Yeah, they both have their place. I cannot see chosing legends over mp if you can afford mp, but legends are definitely fun. Plus, as bobby said, they are cool to put with the big combiners and city bots. I am collecting g1 in 3 scales: legends, mp, and os mp.

Great topic! I've been thinking about this a lot lately.
There is a Legends scale Springer though, and a Wheeljack coming from ToyWorld, surprisingly.
Iron Factory has Cygnus for Jetfire, the Iron bros has Sunstreaker, and toyworld has Whiskey Jack, which is their interpretation of Wheeljack in legends size, so basically only Mirage is missing for the Autobot season 1 rooster :D
He did say towards the end of the video that he'll leave Iron Factory out of the discussion
@@micoman4939 I missed that part! Thanks for clarifying
Magic Square announced both Wheeljack and Mirage, along with Hoist, Hound, Jazz, and the Datsuns.
You could maybe fudge in the Robot Masters Mirage if you wanted to. the Star Saber and Victory Leo from the same line could fit nicely.
Also I think Iron Factory has a Jazz.
Misael Castillo, rooster?
MP-10 is still a solid unit!

These Skullface lectures were well worth the cost of tuition.
I wouldnt mind New age making a whole set of throttlebots. That bee mild was legendary.
I'm currently doing a MP collection with certain figures being legends scale. Another great sit down Saturday.
Masterpiece and legends. Masterpiece for the size and shelf presence. Legends, honestly no other reason than i think they are cool. (and i'm a plastic crack junkie) That was a very thorough and complete break down of the legends, always impressed with your editing skills man!
So, I am doing MP and Legends with my legends being my IDW collection. Which is an idea I actually got from Shattered Cast (thanks by the way).
Childhood trauma!!! Spot on!!! Great video. Thanks again.
Man, you should do an update to this one, great vid
I like the MP look, G1esque aside, but I find what I like about my collection is picking them up on business calls and converting back and forth. The MP lines aren’t really suited to do that- in fact they almost demand more posing and ridiculous transformations to accommodate end modes, so they aren’t fun to transform. The Legends on the other hand don’t suffer from that problem. They don’t make for a great posing in dioramas, but then the MPs are just staring off into space due to lack of shelf space so.... the CHUG always felt like the happy medium, when the 3Ps were servicing holes. Ah the good ol days.
My bro my collection all MPs! Love the masterpiece and the closer to G1 the better. Thanks cause your show helps me a lot with my decissions!
So true.
Ugh I wish i had more time, money, and space for an extensive collection. For now I just buy what I like,if I know the figure is good. Awesome vid Skull
Same here
Another insightful video covering an interesting topic.
I’ve been collecting for 20 years so I pretty much collect mostly what I like, not just G1
The only you tuber that keeps it real on useless sh$%.
Thanks man
That Magic Square Trailbreaker is looking good. The FT Trailbreaker would be nice to get before next century
I've bought a few legend, more so for something to mess with during slow parts of the year
The idea of "war in pocket" got me hooked on legends this year.
Let's not forget Ironfactory's and also Warbotron's legends scale Shockwaves!!
there are legends scale Sideswipe, sunstreaker and Jazz already.
Isn't A "complete" collection a discussion a SDS all of its own?
"The smaller the figure the harder it is to display." - Some skullfaced dude. I didn't know I was going to collect Transformers, but now I own all Masterpiece from Season 1 only.
sweeeeet! I'd love a similar one for CHUG/CHUGsterpiece vs. Legends for an IDW display, especially with the Iron Factory DJD coming out.
* My MP collection was expensive, not Tailgate. I got a great deal on him.
Nice vid, can you do the next sit down Saturday on the 3 new MP primes?
I really wish I had gone with legends scale, but 8 years ago that wasn't really an option, so I'm "stuck" with MP. Selling isn't a very viable option as shipping from my country is extremely expensive, and the "scene" here is very very small
I collect only MP, but DX-9's stuff especially has had me thinking of starting Legends.
Their Seekers + Coneheads sets and now Dutch sealed it for me.
I do an MP Bot collection and have legends for Alt modes and/or City Bot displays!
I like to mix the a CHUG combiners with the legends, I think they scale really well (looking at you Quantron!). Great topic.
Thanks Bobby. After I finished my season one MP and straggler roster, I think I will switch to legends. ( Unless I get bored, then I will go all MP)
Also I thought the iron factory shock wave was a good g1 representation. You can mix and match a g1 legends set with what's out there I feel. But we're always going to have holes.
This will always be an issue the completionists nightmare.
hope you enjoyed your vacation
happy hollydays
I think the master made city bots would look cool w/the legends scale also
So no Iron Factory mentions even where they can kinda work for G1 with figures like Shockwave and Sixshot?
Also, Takara delivered a legends scale Shockwave (LG24) repaint of the Hasbro CW Legends Shockwave that looks better color-wise.
He did say towards the end that he'll leave Iron Factory out of the discussion
Size does matter. Sticking with MP.
Here here regarding "having a SO that is understanding of my connection to meaningless BEEP"
I’m gonna start legends but I’m keeping MP36, TE-01, MP22, and FT Roadking
Missing a lot of Legends class figures in the sum up. For example, Iron Factory has a Sunstreaker, a combaticons set and a Blitzwing; Toyworld a Wheeljack; MFT has a Springer. And that's just what I can think of immediately.
He did say he'll leave Iron Factory out of the discussion
Good review Bobby 👍🏽 , I'm going with legends because of money and realestate. Thanks again awesome review.
I'm into legends because they're cheap, take up less space, are coming out a lot faster, and because I just plain love small figures.
Surprised Iron Factory didn't come up here, because honestly I feel Bridge Watcher and Burning Slug fit in great for Shockwave and Warpath's slots in a Legends scale G1 collection
He did say he'll leave Iron Factory out of the discussion
I am not a pro ikea buyer but there is a new "low table" DIECAST :) with glass in teresting for display. Check SAMMANHANG model.
8:18 - :-P yeah I am very lucky like that... got a huge transformers and nerf collection lol
Personally, I display some legends with my combiners, and have MPs for sets or pairs, like my Prime & Meg, or my Seekers. Best of both worlds. :)
I have an mp deluxe and legends collection going. I like the idea of legends with city bots
I wonder if you’ll talk about the version 3 of Optimus Prime
Hey Bobby.. your ever watched the TH-camr called Paper Patriot...
MP 💡OMIBOTS TOO MAC'💡 I actually did the whole MAIL ORDER thing for all 3
