I ended up looking this game up and the name of the developer immediately just hit me like a hidden memory was just unlocked. Like twelve or thirteen years ago (? I remember being 11/12, so memory hazy) he made these Metal Gear fan games for Android, they weren't particularly great but for an Android game, they were in 3D and he made this cool model where it was kinda like Solid Snake's face on Big Boss' MGS3 fatigues. I'm glad he's finally put something out on Steam and I'm picking it up even though it doesn't look great, but purely for the fact he's still at it, more than ten years later and his love for Metal Gear hasn't worn off at all.
I love that the main character really does just look like Big Boss crossed with a monkey. The idea behind this isn't bad, though - with Konami being so awful, making a MGS-like with a similar camera and vibes to the first three Solid titles is actually a pretty neat concept. It's just...not to well executed, sadly. Just as batshit insane though.
Okay, what the heck TH-cam - I _could not_ find this channel when you mentioned it a month or so back, and now out of nowhere this vid shows up in my feed. This friggin' website, I swear.....
@@icaruslivesagain the explanation you used for why it’s weird, because you hold the weapon button to aim and release to fire, is a staple of early metal gears. Whether it’s on keyboard or controller the concept is the same.
