@@TheCookiePredator I live in the US. The left is far more totalitarian than the right in my personal experience. The ideas they espouse censor all thought or even words that contradict a chosen narrative. They regulate speech, thought and action. If you say or do anything that goes against a narrative, even if you're asking for clarification, this will be taken as a sign of disobedience and you must be punished until you change your ways. They have established this mindset on college campuses throughout the country. People who hint at conservative viewpoints - even if they mostly align with the left - are ostracized. It stems from post-modernist thinking and their solution is a Marxist paradigm that is to be implemented. These beliefs have manifested in identity politics and the forced resignation of ideological opponents in positions of power in universities. Professors and deans are forced to resign and schools are threatened into changes in policy that are more "tolerant." But this is the thing, everything the left fights for in modern times, in action they will commit the things they say they are against. The most extreme version of this is Antifa. It's actually hilarious how ironically fascist it is. In every stratum of society that the left acts in mirrors the way people acted during communist revolutions. "Their kingdom is slowly dividing" Its kinda already divided after decolonization happened, which split Great Britain into several countries and commonwealths. Second Britain hasn't been a monarchy in quite a while, it's a unitary parliamentary.
I wish the protesters are more clear of their objective(s) and strategy. They want PM to resign, but what if the PM is voted in by the parliament again? Some ask for parliament to be dissolved, but the new election will still use the same constitution that they despite so badly. They are asking for a new constitution to be written, but who is going to write it? The current parliament or a different committee? And what about the executive branch during the rewritten of the new constitution? Who is going to rule now that appointed PM is not being supported? I personally do not wish for PM to resign, for he was voted in democratically by using the rule of the new constitution approved by the people. However, if the protesters are unhappy with the new rule, I call that they try to appeal democratically through the parliament, and set a timeline that the new rule will be implemented for the next election in 3 years. That is the only how to hold the system alive, or else we will be stuck in this cycle of mob politic forever.

Ya deposing a government yet now, mexico is still grappled by corruption, femicide, drug gangs and cartels. It is just strong enough not to be engulfed just like in El Salvador and Honduras. What does the President do? Nothing
No and it is a gradual progress, but it had exposed the weakness of the so-called dempcratic form of government. They cannot even eliminate drugs and the cartel, so it had become rampant. If the government does not discipline its people, what credibility is left then?. True, we all wanted democracy but yet some people over step their boundaries and does not follow laws. They only follow the law if it applies to them but if it is against them, they protest.
@@duchesspipay9148 Why do you think 3 major criminals are being charged and arrested in the USA instead of México? Our institutions have been penetrated by corruption to a level that will take years to clean them up. It is also a matter of education, I doubt my generation will be able to see the fruits of change but that doesn't mean that we have to stay silent and do nothing. The drug problem is much more complex than you think, without demand there is no market, unfortunately the USA is the biggest market of all and México is its neighboring country, so I wouldn´t dare to over simplify something based on suppositions or prejudices. I am all for the death penalty for the corrupter and the corrupted, unfortunately we don't have that penalty in México so it will take much more time to see change.
México problem is very complex. Some families still in power but in the shadow. Also, they need to make a change in the government but even with all the problem they have a choice to change it every for four years in election. Thailand is a little different they have been in monarchy for many years. Monarchy is very bad and few people take all the money that is for the Thai people. I wish the best Thai people!
It is refreshing to see people taking a stand instead of saying things like "United nations should interfere " "why isn't the west doing thus and that...." it used to be people were too afraid, but they often feel now they have nothing to lose, and when they see similar societies protesting as well they feel rightfully propelled.
Yes, I'm so glad to see people continue fighting for their rights, too! But it is true, though, that the interference of the UN is also important in making the process faster... What's the UN for, if it's not keeping useless leaders like this one in check?

So we can conclude that Democracy is not the best. And the process of getting one is the worst. It's a worldwide phenomena. Peaceful protests, turned angry, military/ police intervention, arrests, deaths, more protests. Countries throwing sanctions at the government for human rights violation, the economy collapsing, and sometimes a military coup, its messed up. Its good that people are raising their voice against everything wrong, but seeing what happened in dozens of other countries worldwide, there should honestly be a better and more effective way. Good luck Thailand! Protect your beautiful country.
The title of the video states that Thai youth are fighting for democracy. Then after a minute of video, it says they are risking 15 years of jail time for criticizing the monarchy. So are they fighting for democracy or are they criticizing the monarchy?

Hi, I come from the United States. Our constitution was based on leaving a monarchy too but we have major flaws. While living in the monarchy, a few rich white guys like Hamilton wrote the constitution, the Federalist papers, and so on. That's what carried us into a new government. Haha I bet game designers would make great elected officials.
I live in Bangkok. I’m very happy to see these protests getting worldwide recognition from the media. The Thai people are amazing and should have a system that works for them. I’m proud to call Thailand my home!
"Love of nation, Religion, and Monarchy" - These 3 pillars of Thailand are what make up the Thai national flag and are what make this nation uniquely Thai. For democracy, banning someone or calling for an official ban of someone else's opinion simply because it does not conform to your own belief is not and should not be the backbone of democracy; everyone's opinion should matter, let it be the government, the opposition, the people, even the monarchy!!! Also, I believe that every government on earth should have the rights to secrecy and censorship to a certain degree because no country on earth can truly be autonomous without first guarding its secrets and censoring certain activities that could threaten its own national security and solidarity of its people.

I was ashamed of what happened. Please do new understanding in this situation. The protesters wanted to change the rule by offering the prime minister to resign, amend the constitution and reform the monarchy, but they are a minority. Most people disagree and because they know there are some losers and disastrous opposition politicians control and were behind the scenes those protesters and ill-wishers. By providing distorted information via social systems to young generation, the most protester were very young and not understand in governor administration as same as what happened in Hong Kong. We might be interfered by adversaries both within and outside the country. Thai people, especially generation of parents, are coming out and show the power to force against the protesters. Don't worried, it's coming to an end soon.
I'm shocked to hear about that man's death in my country, especially in the city that I've been living in! Worse than that, all media are seem to be silent by the higher up. I went to Loei province in Northeast Thailand in 2017. There was a village where the entire population was being slowly poisoned by the river water that was tainted with arsenic and mercury from the dumping site of a gold mine right beside the riverbed. The river was so heavily tainted of mineral elements its color turned to rusty orange. Well guess who owned the gold mine? It belonged to the Thai royal estate through shell company. The mine is closed now but the damage has been done irreparably. The villagers tried to sue the company but instead they were met with violent resistance from the junta military goons and their leaders were countersued for defaming the monarchy. That's how fucked up Thailand's junta and the monarchy are.

Rap & Graffiti came out of The Bronx, New York in the 1980's. I was a child and remember it well. :-)
I don't think you're taking their ideology seriously enough.

it kinda isnt really a monarchy anymore but sure, whataever
"Their kingdom is slowly dividing" Its kinda already divided after decolonization happened, which split Great Britain into several countries and commonwealths. Second Britain hasn't been a monarchy in quite a while, it's a unitary parliamentary.
It's not the monarchies fault though.
Al not big gay tho, the problem is that it has been tainted.

That is the only how to hold the system alive, or else we will be stuck in this cycle of mob politic forever.

absolutely love thailand, love the language, love the people, and love the food. i stayed in bangkok for a year when i was 23, 7 years ago, and it was such an amazing place. i got lost really often though, even just exploring nearby places on foot. the only time i really got to explore the whole city was when i had my thai friend with me who was born in america but raised speaking thai, and he had been to visit many times before. i absolutely loved it so so much. but even back then, 2013-2014 i think, there were still protests i saw in a lot of places. i was always warned not to go near them though, because if i got caught, i may spend a decade or more in thai prison, which is absolutely not something i wanted anything to do with. i may visit again one day, so i won't say anything controversial with this account under my own name. but i really truly did love it there, so so so much. i just had a few rules to follow, like never put your foot on a coin or paper currency, because it has the thai monarch's name on it. and certain other rules like that. but overall, those rules were relatively easy to follow if i just stayed mindful, and respectful of a different culture accepting me into their city.
i hope everyone stays safe, and this can all be resolved peacefully. that's the most i'm comfortable saying.
@Green Future I once mentioned these facts to a bunch of brit tourists and I got bashed so badly. They want to go on being in denial and pay for sex with underage girls/boys while claiming that "the sex workers like it and it's helping them feed their families". It's a tragedy
i definitely didn't see any blatant sex trafficking, though i know it's a problem. i was with locals most of the time, and had a friend who could translate to me, and also translate between me and his parents. sure, i saw the tourist destinations, the old architecture is amazingly beautiful, and everyone i met was kind to me. shopping malls the size of small cities, with 15+ floors, so much stuff to do, and definitely no debauchery over there. i heard from most ppl that the gross stuff happens in pattaya, not bangkok.

@@duchesspipay9148 do you expect an overnight change?

The people have the power.

Thailand is SUPPOSED to be a constitutional monarchy, but look at what is happening right now. So no, no more king.

Our countries r next to one another and we also had almost the same political's events but you guys youth are much braver than mine including me, so I respect this part of yours to the highest. Pray for Thailand!
Stay strong and be righteous for the action you take......we Indonesian have already done it in 1998
Love from Indonesia

All my love and understanding to the Thai people
Phom rak kon thai, rak Thailand rak Thais samer
Thailand dont have it that bad, their neighboring countries have it worse
👋🇵🇭
The Philippines is a republic, but its in a way shittier situation than Thailand.
You Like!? It is very bad compared to how it used to be. Thailand doesn’t settle for less.
You Like!? Lmao you’re right my friend
That does not mean we can not improve. We should aim higher, not settle and stay the same because "neighbors have it worse".
We are SucceSS together
Glory to Ours to All.
