I downgraded from the 1000 to the 800 and honestly, almost 3 years later, still love the unit. It reminds me a lot of my old DDJ SX2 as far as feel and utility. The 1000 was nice and all, but I really just don't need the 3/4 channels and prefer a smaller unit. I've been DJing since 2000, and I have to say these controllers have come a long way. I see lots of videos for beginners saying "buy the SB" or some other plastic $300 controller. I say spend some more, buy this, and have plenty of dings and whistles to play with. It's worth it. Sure the 1000 is more flashy but this unit is amazing as well. I stand by it.
Love This video, thanks so much. I’m a Old Skool DJ from the Technics Era Transitioning to using Controllers. For me it’s a major difference and constant learning experience. This video helped A lot because I have my heart set on the DDJ 800 !
I think the mobility aspect is very important especially when you're starting out. It doesnt look like a toy and its not too bulky. Also those XLR outputs are there for you.
thanks for the review man! i've had multiple DDJ 1000's as well, I feel like these will be the betteer fit!! looking forward to them when they restock !
Just getting started on the djing thing but I been wondering about the four channel controller whether or not is necessary thank you for clearing that up for me
Hey thank you for this! With similar used prices I’m torn between the 800 and xdj-rx or rr. I’m mostly home so I don’t need a stand-alone and tbh I don’t really need 4 channels either so I think this is really helpful
Hey Bro, Nocera vid, just seeing, researching this unit, I really would like a 4 decks but finances says not not.. However I don't really dj that Genre but I've been doing 4 and 8 decks for nearly 10 years.. No headphones.. Keep Jammin 💯
Is this a good option to consider if you’re brand new to DJ’ing? I’m looking to learn, I like the level of quality that I see with the 800, and it looks like it’s got plenty of cool effects and extras to grow into with time... It looks simple and concise, yet capable.
Thanks for the great review. I have been looking at DDJ-SR2 but there is no stock in Europe. Saw this onYT and it’s pretty made up my mind even though I am 51 😂

An honest and clearly review of a awesome controller that i use it for traveling
Nice review everything on yt is 4 years old I was going to get a flex6 but now think I'm going to get a ddj800

It’s kinda like a Serato, I don’t care what no one says!,,, best review ever!! Covered everything!!

Hi! Great video! Would you get this over the grv6 or the other way around? What keeps me from making the decision is the 4 vs 2 decks
Think it's a bad idea to get this now?
The REV5 looks so goofy.

Explaining that 4 decks is not a must is a killer dude.
please explain I dont fully get your statement

It's a very good choice for a beginner, very quality 👌
@@audiomonster303 I appreciate the response man!
I’m actually buying this unit next year
your crazy informative thank you for the clarity. also how’s the actual external build quality. plastic?
Is it worth the jump 800 to 1000 im using the 800 dont think i really need the upgrade.
The 800 is great, if you do not want full size jog Wheels and do not need the extra channels then just keep the 800 it's an amazing unit!
Would you rather go for Traktor S4MK3 instead of DDJ 800
That would be specifically directed towards what software you like, I have never liked Traktor and Believe me I have tried to many times. I say 800
I LOVE MY DDJ 800 THANKS AUDIO MONSTER Dj discOworm
I saw you on a Digital DJ tips thursday show whats up friend!!
@@audiomonster303 Great name Thank you very much .keep rocking. the world needs you. peace, discoworm San Fransisco

I've order one and im 53 , lol
What would you buy, a Ddj 800 or a Xdj rr
probably the 800 because the RR has a ddj-400 crossfader and faders which are cheap! And the 800 can run 4 decks
Ive been stuck on this controller or a rev 5.dont know which i should get
Same man
@@kevinsounds I ordered the rev5 😜It's too nice!!
The rev is pointless you can get a rane one for 200 more which blows it away.
Thanks for the video!
anytime brotha! please sub to the channel to get updates on new vids!
