    Bought this model and changed the livery to Old Crow flown by triple ace Bud Anderson. All these models are excellent. If you don't get too crazy, they last a very long time.

    Great video my friend and amazing bird. I have watched your videos of this baby 100 times and finally found one plane two months ago forgoten in some RC store in EU.     Loved it Rich.
    These FMS models are the bizz.
    I had the version 2 109F which I bought in about 2013, which I flew at the club last weekend, and one of the guys there bought it off me.
    I had it painted in a WW1, Jasta 11 Scheme. Also slung the canons from the FMS Stuka under the wings, looked pretty cool.
    The model still had all original servos, motor etc, and was still, like the model in this video, going strong.

    Fantastic flying Rich, i love that you show guys how they DONT need them gyro's and even on a windy day! I counted what, 4 landings (several touch and go's), all of them perfect and on a windy day too👍 i know a couple of guys with these and they love them-ive got the 1400 Big Beautiful Doll, but im half tempted to get a buddy for my tigercat after watching this. Best get some clearcoat over that signature too before it fades away. Very impressed as always👍

    very last question: Is the yellow 360 motor version is the plane wing and fuselage the same deminsions ? The 360 looks like the leading edge of wing to trailing edge is wider? May be because of color scheme makes it appear to be different ..

    I want to assign bind/channel 1 to a switch on my NX10 to turn on the simulated LED machine guns on and off on my FMS P 51 Mustang 1700 mm. Is it possible to assign channel 1/bind channel to one of my switches to turn on and off the LED machine gun simulated lights. And what would be the procedure?

    Rich I love watching your shows of all battery planes. But what don't get. Your battery checker so useful. Why have stopped selling them. I'm new to rc but seems battery foam is in thing today as far as flying and quick build and making them better. Can you give in put to company's can try get them out again for old and new rc flyers

Since it’s Ben around for 6 years, I didn’t want to purchased it, just to see a new upgraded versions return on the market, along with FMS 1700mm Corsair

      I don't recall at the moment... I use a 4000 to 5000 pack pushed all the way forward with NO additional nose weight:)

    i have been after a FMS 1700mm Ferocious Frankie P-51 for a couple of months now... ugh.... i have no idea why they quit making them

    You need to tell fms they cant discontinue the 1700mm p51, just as they should never with the f7f tigercat, and f4u corsair. I love fms planes. I've had many.. I had one of these but bad situation with my ex grrrrrr. But I will have all 3 someday I hope.

    I bought new P-51. Red tail. 1700mm.
    Tried to put 5000mAh battery in and would not fit in opening .pushed towards the motor. Where does 5000mah battery lay inside fuselage. Won't fir in small compartment towards front near motor.

    Hi Rich! Do you go full up elevator during take off then slowly letting it go to raise the tail?

      I hold full aft elevator for taxi to keep the tail on the ground. When advancing the throttle, I begin to slowly release the back stick pressure so the tail will rise on it's own. Too much throttle can raise the tail to early & not releasing enough elevator pressure can cause the plane to become airborne to quickly when it is slow.... so its s not of a balancing act:)

    Hey Rich always enjoy your videos, big question for you. What P-51 is you favorite to fly, I’m looking at getting one here soon and I like the bigger models 1400-1700mm.

      Both the FMS 1700mm & the E-flite 1500mm are really nice models. The E-flite is newer, faster & more modern. The FMS models is bigger and flys more scale but is a older design. You will not go wrong either way.

      Ya tough decision.... lol. If I did the fms I think I’d do the 8s upgrade if it has the room. I’m currently doing the 8s upgrade to the Corsair after seeing your video, just ordered the esc you recommend.

      Well to be honest two totally different aircraft, I still have this one and it’s 10 years old now, Plus it’s bigger than 1.5. The 1.5 does benefit though from more modern construction and it is easier to transport, even so have to admit I do love the red tail🙂

    You can see that thing wants to peel left right as it leaves the ground. I know I can fly the bird. I’m trying to break the habit of punching the throttle on take off with some of my other planes I’m comfy with.

      Ease the power in, and add rudder as needed. The more power you add to quickly, the more abrupt right rudder you need to add to counteract the extra torque that you just added. Taking off with a tail dragger is easy, It's all technique of adding power and rudder appropriately and smoothly:)
