Hi Mikey, I'm an Englishman who retired with his wife to Spain. I decided to start cycling again but due to the fact that it is quite a hilly area and the temperatures are high, my wife suggested I try an ebike, and I absolutely love it. Mine is an NCM and we decided to get one for my wife and got her an Ancheer. Both are 250W, but my wife is finding it a little tough on the Ancheer, so we started to look for an alternative. I really like your videos and was really interested in the one where you talked about SinglesDay shopping holiday in China and how it was safe to buy from AliExpress, because I have looked at the site many times but have been frightened off by the risk of losing my money. After seeing that video I thought it would not be as risky as I thought, so we picked out a 400W Lankeleisi bike. We felt that would give her the extra help she needed to keep up with me. At first it was supposed to be coming from Spain and then they asked would it be ok if it came from China due to the Covid19 situation. We were happy to accept that. A couple of months later it eventually arrived. On assembly it was clearly not of the quality I expected. The frame and gears appear acceptable. The wheels and spokes are of poor quality. The battery rattles in the holder on the bike and was supposed to be an 18ah LG, but the sticker on it says 18ah Samsung, which would also be acceptable, but the casing seems of poor quality which does make me wonder. After assembly, before my wife rode it, to make sure it was safe I rode it myself and it is clearly not 400w, as it struggles on the slightest slope, which the other two bikes sail up. The LCD screen does not register the charge of the battery on the indicator, although when you flip through the different modes it does register 41.8volts, which for a 36v battery means it is fully charged, so I removed the battery holder on the bike to check if there was a loose connection and discovered that the controller is only 11amps. This means that the peak wattage of the motor would be 36v x 11amps = 396watts. The motor is labelled with the peak wattage and not the nominal wattage as you would expect, and as indeed the NCM and Ancheer are labelled. The front mudguard does not fit. The preassembled rear mudguard does not follow the contour of the wheel. The seller does not respond, and the response from AliExpress was to negociate with the seller until I pointed out that it is difficult to do when they are not responding. The dispute procedure has led to what appears to be a final offer of a refund of 172 euros out of a total selling price of 858 euros, which is around 20% of the cost, but would still leave me with a bike that is unfit for use. To try and sell it would make me as dishonest as the original seller so I have no wish to do that. My question is, with your experience of dealing with AliExpress, do you have any suggestions of how to deal with this problem? Surely AliExpress must realise that this is not the way to build a customer base. You obviously buy in bulk; have you ever heard if this treatment is the norm for ordinary retail customers because obviously we don't have the buying power? I know this is not your fault by the way, it was purely to ask for advice on how to deal with them because I seem to be getting nowhere. I also hope this will serve as a warning to others thinking of buying from AliExpress.

It goes fast enough that the rider could suffer severe injuries to their ungloved hands were they to come off the scooter! The absolute minimum riding gear should be helmet, eye protection, gloves, boots and jacket. Unprotected palms and fingers don't do so well when contacting road surfaces hard...

#1, I love all your videos! As of 2017 there had been 100 million Honda Cubs made so anyone with a lick of sense should be coping it! The real issue is if everyone goes total electric how is the grid going to support the overload? In Ca. that wants to go total electric vehicles they sent out a notice to not charge there cars because there was a system overload!
Im normally a bit less excited about scooters (dont get me wrong, i still love them). I ride a 70 yr old harley for 2 wheel transportarion, but this little honey is a total gem. And at 2 grand, it would let me enjoy some nice, quiet, unassuming sprints locally with a smart stylish snap. In the 70's we had a honda 90 cub. This though a bit slower, is totally eye catching to me.❤👍🏼
I like it! It looks like fun! Some people will crap all over anything no matter what it is. If you enjoy it and use it the way it was meant to be used...
Love my '22 Super Cub, 130-ish MPG, 45MPH cruising speed, but I can get it to 55 if I need that extra "boost", lots of (expensive) options to really make it my own, but this is just awesome. If I wasn't in such a rural area, I'd probably have dropped some cash on this. 30-ish MPH wouldn't be too terrible around town, but getting to town would take forever. This bike definitely needs more attention. I wonder how many Cub parts are cloned and if you can replace anything with them on this bike, would be interesting to find out. That headlight looks like a direct rip of the modern Cub lights (though I get that the mounting is probably different).

Luls. I spent $400 total for a rear wheel motor, a battery and a used bike to put it on. 32MPH and 15 mile range on battery. Worth every penny. 5 minutes to Kroger, 1.1 miles away. I think I actually clocked it at less than that one Sunday morning while everyone was in church and the road was clear.
Very nice e-scooter. I really like the custard and cream colour scheme. I have heard though that in America if you ride a scooter people will think that you had lost your license through drink-driving.
Excellent 👌 video, that motorcycle is very well built, before it had a Super Cub 50 cc from the year 1980, excellent motorcycles and now in its electric version they are still phenomenal.
It is a sharp-looking copy of an old-style Cub. The handlebar switches look like the ones on the older bikes and not the new C125. I would be interested in a follow-up video with more detail about the initial charging and the range as well as battery recharging time. It would be interesting as well to see the frame underneath the plastic fairings. You are being disrespectful to Honda by calling it a Cub. The Honda Super Cub is the first-ever patented 3-D design and has sold over 110 million since 1958. They have been making prototype electric Cubs and hopefully will bring one to market soon.

Really nice looking scooter! That's what urban cities need!!!
Did I miss it? What’s the range?
I was wondering the same
you might make it around the block, at least it's light enough to push home.
The CSC Monterey is powered by a 1.5kW continuous and 2.6kW peak motor and a 60V 26Ah (1,560 Wh) removable battery. It’s rated for a range of between 20-65 miles (32-100 km) depending on rider weight and road conditions.
32miles
Coming out of the global pandemic, whereas still not out of the woods just yet, rising costs of global gas prices will make Asian consumers think about their options. 32MPH is something that will work here and for my use. Hope to see more of your reveals and reviews. Thanks!
Almost looks like a Honda 50cc scooter.
The guy did state that they are modelled on the honda cub series
And just as fast😂
You mean a honda 90 a 50 was smaller just sayin'
@@justsayin6795 Well you are wrong. The 50cc, 70cc and 90cc were all the same machine. Just different barrel bores.
Like Tomos colibri t12 from 1960+
Very impressive. It brings back a lot of happy memories. My girlfriend has the Honda 50cc when we were in high school.
The battery is not too bad
Range 20-65 Miles (Depending on Rider/Road conditions)
Battery Capacity 60V26Ah
Cycles of life ≥800
So that is between 16000 and 52000 miles before you have to replace it. I wonder what t replacement will cost?"
Nice indeed but I'm with the "not quite fast enough" crowd.
Yep, I kind of fall into that “I hate myself for liking this so much” crowd.
Really great...the color is unbelievable and Honda 50 design...dating myself...
So what's the status with your cub build? Edit, I just looked back at part 4 and you promised there would not be such big gaps between episodes any more.
i got a 1500w front hub from CSC, works great !!
I would be interested in the time and distance between recharging. Also the make, model and type of battery.
I've just started to get into ebikes and scooter and this little yellow scooter looks like a blast!
What happened to the specs? Battery capacity/range, charge time.. what do you charge with... is the battery swappable... where's it built?

@@crashandburngaming5103 not in my browser view of TH-cam.. other than going to the manufacturer site.
Whoa, 32 in a 50 will get you killed here! Awesome bike and review!
I have a project for you :) conversion kit for a original Honda cub with mid drive motor etc :D Be the first to make it!
i put together an ebike, Mongoose fat tire with 1500w front hub, and gets almost identical numbers on speed, it ran me around (at the time) $1200, so getting something like this nice looking monterey for 2000 is well worth it for someone who cant put one together, the style is very nice. just sayin, thanks !!
Yeah it’s a great looking bike. It would be even better if it could manage 45mph!
I like the canary yellow. I hope you enjoy lots of safe miles.
Would love to see someone modify one of these with more power.
Wow I didn't know you could get something like this for so little. Looks like amazing value.
It goes fast enough that the rider could suffer severe injuries to their ungloved hands were they to come off the scooter!
The absolute minimum riding gear should be helmet, eye protection, gloves, boots and jacket.
Unprotected palms and fingers don't do so well when contacting road surfaces hard...
definately very beautiful scooter .Amazing beautiful and smooth ride
I like it but ill buy a real supercub and wait for an electric from tha japanese, i dont want to support china..
How the hell will China compete in the Nuclear Arms race without our support.
What ever will china do without your financial support 😭
I think you are yellow fan just like my mother! Your MI bike yellow and now this!! Appreciate gold guys.
Really great stuff from your side!! You should make more videos of these kinds and encourage us with ur new stuff!!
BRILLIANT, I WANT ONE !!!
For practicality it should come with rack, topbox and panniers.
This though a bit slower, is totally eye catching to me.❤👍🏼
It is cool.
Good review my guy. I'm remember riding the 50 cc -70cc Honda Super Cub in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 . Thanks for the video!!!!
Look amazing.. I have one honda cub c70 1960..almost look same...classic n modern touches... Well done bro
i had one in shanghai.. i was impress how long it lasted.. it took me all aorund the city..
they also make vespa style ones, i had also one of those i love it ,i miss it ( 500 dlls )
What a nice scooter, the retro look is excellent for my taste!
Nice looking scooter. CSC has increased the price, added a shipping fee, and kept the paperwork fee. Total now $3000 +.
For $1599, I bought the Ariel X Class instead which is about as fast as the Monterrey.
I have an Okai scooter & it only goes 15 mph. So this bike is already a cool upgrade for me + I live in a small city.
So classic and so modern together. I like it much better than all the new Chinese electric bikes!
Mike, new to your channel just wanted to say thank you for all the videos. I have been watching your how to build a e-bike battery. I think I am becoming a expert with all your help 😁 thanks again.
That’s an interesting optical illusion when you’re riding over the tiled pavement. Cool scooter too!
i like it too ,of course i’m partial to the old Honda’s as i still have my Dads 1964 S90 he stored indoors since the 60s and is Completely original minus some Consumables like battery , Tires , and perhaps. couple of bulbs or fuses I imagine these new Electric Scooters will be all over Florida pretty quickly especially in the Keys i also like the color combination even though Jessie James of West Coast Choppers fame used to say Motorcycles shouldn’t be Yellow part of the Charm of these older styles is those Art Deco period correct colors sort of like Vintage VW Beetles i personally thought whenVW came out with the new Beetles one of their best ideas was making them Available in the original colors
I can see it for like going to the dollar store down the road or something like that. Definitely the yellow for me, it's a high visibility color.
That's nice.
I was looking on ebay at UK Honda cubs, They are known as C50, C70 & C90 here and the prices are just bloody ridiculous.
People here used to strip old ones to use as "brickyard thrashers" in the 1970's. They were that cheap.
Not anymore evidently !
So, the price on that Monterey isn't bad. I would imagine changing the controller would improve the top speed at the offset in reduction in range ?
