When I was in the NAVY GSHOCK was the watch that we would wear but its gone main stream that I see a lot of hip hop kids wear them. Thats the reason why I've gone a different direction and got the Suunto instead. So far Im happy with it.
Both have a great look and features. Suunto has a more desirable data display and compass!(dim though). I like the ruggedness/durability of the G-Shock Riseman and its solar, I heard Suunto battery life is poor, which is y they made it so easy to replace the battery. Suunto is good for outdoor sports running, biking, mtn climbing etc. I recently bought(waiting for) the new Riseman all black military version. I really like the Suunto core all black though, might purchase it as well.
Somehow Core looks a bit more casual (at least core light green) so you could wear it all times.. and G-Shock looks more extreme conditions oriented. And i'm still undecided. Nice vid, especially the HD quality. P.S. is that Polish rap music in background ?:)
@Rossmancracka13 but you forgot one thing. if you drop the suunto core from a high place then its history. I know g shocks don't look that stylish but hey it packs all the functions in a smaller design.
the only thing i found cool about the suunto core was the compass but all in all i love the riseman it looks tough is tough and the suunto was only 30m water resistant while the riseman is 200m resistant
great vid man really good, was pondering on the suunto but for the money i believe the g-shock is prob better choice, is there a massive difference in accuracy regarding the barometric and altimeter readings from both watches?
atyl1972 good part of the suunto is that you can take offset settings and be more accurate. OK with the G Shock you can take it too but I controlled both with GPS and the suunto is more accurate
I really like the Riseman..its smaller then a Casio Pathfinder...but its got no basic compas reading . At least the Suunto will get you back home if you were out in the bush, so a minus- pt for the Riseman. What the Riseman needs is a compas s reading & GPS co-ordinates readout....it would be a world beater, a real adventurer watch....well we can dream can't we.!?
What is the battery life like for the Suunto? The Riseman is solar powered. But with the Suunto, I'd hate to have to change the battery halfway through a trek.
@MicrOptic4HD Not really. It's a little more inaccurate and it doesn't have the compass. G-Shock if you are in the military and you need to go into the water and accurate time. Suunto if you are a civilian or in the military that needs to have an all around good quality watch.
I would just like to point out that 13vafanculo posted a comment on here saying that the G-shock looked like a 9 year olds power ranger watch, and he now leaves a comment that you SHOULD NOT buy suuntos. that they "look and feel cheap". Im going to be honest, i dont doubt that suuntos are good watches, but when compared to a G shock, they just dont match up.
ive heard really bad things about suunto like there watches break easy, that they won't live up to warranties and that you will return a watch wait months for another to come and then the replacement will be damaged already
@turbovolution Exactly. Suunto's are shit if you are using them for what they're designed for. Owned them both. They should be comparing the Suunto th a Pathfinder anyways...
This comparison is absurd. It's not fair for a Suunto to be compared to a G-Shock especially to a Riseman! It's like comparing a policeman with a compass to a Navy SEAL that doesn't have a compass.
That Suunto display is extremely hard to read from. What a bad contrast that display has. And then to think that you pay big bucks for Suunto watches, jeeezzz.
I had the core for 2 weeks and I dropped it from my wrist.... The watch buttons never worked again. If you want a fragile overpriced piece of crap then go with the core.

vinamel97 That's the dumbass reason I've heard.

Incredible clear and sharp video, pls can you tell me which camera did you use?
Riseman all the way! I have the same model and it's my first G. Never comes off my wrist. Better than a sidekick.
Somehow Core looks a bit more casual (at least core light green) so you could wear it all times.. and G-Shock looks more extreme conditions oriented. And i'm still undecided. Nice vid, especially the HD quality.
P.S. is that Polish rap music in background ?:)
@BritishRacingGreen its has a 12 to 18 month life span and a indicator when the battery is at 15 percent so you can change it in time
@Zyphon400 Just watched the video again OMFG so clear dude what kind of camera is this?!
Same. Very good HD video, thx!
Agree with you all the way. Casio designs are beautiful. Suunto is just a screen!!XD
Nice and clear review, like the song too =-)

Figured that, Thank You for the Comment back.

G-Shock is my favorite
theyre not unnecessary, they make it shock resistant

@26siro what is the setting for the video production,e.g bitrate,fps
, resolution, etc?
Cool video of two really cool watches. I think I'll stick with the G. It's more my style.
@MicrOptic4HD So the company G String is making G Socks now? WOW
What is the battery life like for the Suunto? The Riseman is solar powered. But with the Suunto, I'd hate to have to change the battery halfway through a trek.
@Tux3d0 the owner already answered to another comment. it's a sony hdr-x520ve
As far as design Riseman is like Lamborghini and Suunto is Porsche.
GammaRayBOOM You mean Porsche copy from China.
Which one is more accurate would you say?
@Tux3d0 you can select 1080p in this video..
@MicrOptic4HD Not really. It's a little more inaccurate and it doesn't have the compass.
G-Shock if you are in the military and you need to go into the water and accurate time.
Suunto if you are a civilian or in the military that needs to have an all around good quality watch.
@Zyphon400 aahhh thx bro!
@sv2evs shouldnt it be easier for you cause there is tower in germany for auto sync
video for showing watchs. or video for camera? asd

The best of my now one year Broken screen, missing out letters.
G-Shock Riseman all the way!
FOR ME TOUGHNESS WAS MY CHOICE..BUILT TO LAST.
how much?
song please
@dimonalmaty i agree it looks so cheap!:)
@13vafanculo Still, you will see more soldiers wearing G-shocks then Suuntos.
suunto is more accuracy
@raiderrrrr 009 Sound System - Born to be wasted
both :)
suunto core's strap just SUCKS. i had to replace mine almost every year bcoz the strap
lock keeps on breaking
waryu69 yep, thats why I switched to Nato Straps.
Take a look. It is really nice
This is 360p!??!!!! WTF this looks like 720!
@MicrOptic4HD
G-string even better still!!!!
@ecuacool good looking? on mars maybe
Drop the suunto from a certain, reasonable, same height as the g-shock and its history.
The Suunto has better features but I personally don't like the design.
@elliottest if casio started doing this than no would buy their pathfinders
@turbovolution Exactly. Suunto's are shit if you are using them for what they're designed for. Owned them both. They should be comparing the Suunto th a Pathfinder anyways...

The G-Shock is tougher, has more features and looks better
@lilcolombian2005 . Suunto is more accurate. My weather station points very similarly temperature.
@raiderrrrr PANA SE LLAMA TU MAMA FUE MIAA Y TU PAPA LO SABIA
Suuuto looks like a bottle cap
@amigator sony hdr-x520ve
Just put both on...
Suunto for accuracy.
G-Shock for time.
Problem solved, fanboys...
@miclb28 core
That Suunto display is extremely hard to read from.
What a bad contrast that display has.
And then to think that you pay big bucks for Suunto watches, jeeezzz.
stap0510 there are a combination of buttons you press to enter the settings where you can switch the contrast of the display
suunto core
i'll take the PAW1500Y-1 Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic over these watches, thats if i was stuck out in the middle of nowhere.
casio=no battery
I had the core for 2 weeks and I dropped it from my wrist.... The watch buttons never worked again. If you want a fragile overpriced piece of crap then go with the core.
gmontoy153a plasticky junk from China. Go with Casio!
@@TrueBlueSG where do you think Casio is made? China...
g shock is better multi band 20 bar
I think suunto designers are always high or something. How can anyone come up with such terrible design???
