This was MT at the top of their game. Vocalese was a groundbreaking album, and still untouched in vocal jazz.
They are voice magicians, not just singers.
Takes me back to my teenage days and the dances when couples DANCED. Not too much movement in the floor just hugs❤❤
Great jiving music. The quality of their voices and craft has been entertaining audiences for 50 years.
I recently discovered them, and I look forward to listening to their discography!

Best quartet ever never ever!!! Hands down. Saw them live in Dallas at an outside concert with friends that new real musical talent. Wish I could go back to that evening in real life. Oh well, it lives in infamy inside me.

Where have the years gone to!!?? - - Hard to believe that its been 36 years since I got to see them during the "Vocalese" tour, at the Greek Theater in L.A. in '85. (and thank you Jill C. for introducing me to this incredible group of performers!!) - - Tim Hauser, you are missed!!

Unforgettable to see the Transfer live in Victoria (Spain) in 1987,doing all these songs.. When the spring comes, my heart sing "Joy spring", a celebration of the great Jon Hendricks. How can you write something like that, is out of my mind. Just a joy!!

What can I say but, electrifying
I first heard the group on a juke box in a Lake District pub on a walking weekend on those wonderful mountains. The pub was a converted bank - yes banks were in deep shit all those years ago. Juke boxes had become rare then. I have always been a Woody Herman fan - saw them many times in the UK, Canada and US - and Four Brothers by MT was on the juke box. Put the money in and low and behold sounds of this wonderful version filled the pub. I became a life long fan there and then but sadly never saw them live. I had returned to the UK and marriage before they hit the scene.
