Hey Andy, thanks for your comment! You’ve probably received your camera by now and surely loving it! I’m honestly just enjoying the simplicity of the setup and keeping most things auto. I mainly have it set to aperture priority and shoot it as is. It does have some really great features that I’m sure you’ll discover in the menu but I like to add the guide lines. Another thing I love is the film mode and the custom settings you can make which is very much like a Fujifilm setup 🤌 Enjoy your new camera ✌️😊
This camera is very capable just like many of the most hyped cameras on the market! You can shoot in manual and adjust exposure comp, WB etc. I also edit my photos in Lightroom so this will make the photos more appealing than sooc. Thank you for the kind words and taking the time to comment on my video! 🫶
From my research last night, this was the last and newest Lumix LX? series that had the CCD sensor. The LX7 had a MOS sensor and then they moved to CMOS after that.
Thank you! These photos definitely have a nostalgic look sooc. But my Lightroom film emulation presets definitely bring these images to life which are available for purchase via the link on this video! I shoot everything in raw and keep it on AP most of the time 😊 enjoy your camera!
Ahh thank you so much for the kind words!! I appreciate you taking the time to comment :) the lighting was so good in those shots and they’re some of my favourites from this video!
Very nice collection of photos from your LX5, and I loved the music choice. Can you tell me who the artist was? I have an LX100 M2 but have been thinking of getting one of these LX5. Problem is, their prices on eBay are approaching their original retail prices. The ones that are under US$200 look well used.
Hi Liam …some great images. I have the LX7 which I have taken off the shelf to use again (I’m usually a MFT shooter). I save in RAW and jpeg. Although jpegs are good straight out of camera I have used Lightroom to adjust RAW images with pleasing results. The form factor of the LX3 , LX5 and LX7 are very similar , easy to pocket and discreet when using in public areas. The LX7 also has a built in ND filter.
Hey Alan, thanks for commenting! At first glance the lcd fooled me with this camera but once I exported them to my laptop I saw stoked with the results and the images it can produce! Definitely a discreet little camera which I’ll be using more for street photography 😊 super cool that the LX7 has a built in ND!
@@Saltyybeard that a very good observation. I have often looked at the screen at shots taken and thought they were poor but when viewing on laptop or iPad they are pretty good.
I had no idea what a flash air SD card was but just looked it up and I’ll definitely be getting one of these because I was actually wishing I could do a wireless transfer with this camera haha! Thank you!
I've been looking for a camera like this for my trip next year. I have sony dslr but I'm not a photographer so I don't actually enjoy carrying such big body camera around it's such a hassle, thinking of buying affordable pocket camera like the good old time. This looks perfect for my needs
Honestly a camera like this would be perfect for a trip! So compact but also makes a good quality image. You can also shoot RAW if you like to edit your images.
Most of these shots were all set on Ap mode. I like to keep my digicam settings rather basic when I’m taking photos. I always shoot in raw though so I can use my film emulation presets in Lightroom 😊
Like others have commented, nice video. I have the LX7 and take similar photos. I also have an older DSLR that I just don’t use because it is too bulky and too heavy. The small Lumix is just so much fun to always take with you and it does take great pictures. I am thinking of moving I to the mirrorless world and would like to keep to the smaller size and add some of the new camera features. What have others “upgraded” to?
Thanks for sharing! Yes I love how compact this little camera is! I also shoot with a Canon R6 and a couple of 35mm film cameras. The Contax G1 and the Ricoh R1s
Awesome video! Would you recommend it as a travel camera? I want to travel from New York to San Framcisco this yearvand I’m looking for a cheap and good camera. Did you do a lot of image processing or did the images come out of the camera as they were?
Thank you so much! I plan on doing more videos like this 😊 I think it’s a great travel camera being so compact. The aperture priority setting is perfect and having the ability to shoot RAW. All of these images were edited in Lightroom with my film emulation presets too!
@@Saltyybeard Sorry one last question😅 the availability of the LX5 isn’t great in this moment here in Germany. Do you think it could be worth to check out lx3 or lx7?
@@adrianweier3755best bet would be to find one on EBay! I was lucky enough to to find mine in a thrift store but I’ve never seen any on my local online marketplace. I’m sure any of the lx models would be just as good 😊
Can i adjust the manual exposure and live display the exposure too in the lcd? I bought the fujifilm but the display is still in manual mode. I just curious with lumix, is that like fujifilm or different?
I’m working on a film pack and hope to have them out in the next few months. Just trying to get them as accurate as possible before releasing them to the world
Great little camera that I'd like to add to my collection sometime. I've added your channel, hopefully you'll connect with another retro photographer 📸
Great video, I actually have one coming in the mail today! Any tips or settings you could share for this camera would be awesome. Subscribed!

Hi are your images edited or straight out of camera and what are your photo settings for the camera
All of these images are edited with my LR film emulation presets!
hii! is the LX5 and LS5 the same model? if no, is the lumix ls5 a good purchase?
Hey! No these are two very different cameras with the LS5 being newer and cheaper. I would recommend the LX5 if you were deciding between the two 😊

is there a universal viewfinder i can get that will work with this camera?
I’m not to sure sorry! I imagine there would be a universal one out there. I think it would be a great addition to this camera 🤌

Interesting interpretation of ‘street photography’… 😉

This camera... i have no idea. 500k dots of LCD on paper, but at live view its like only 100k... then back to real 500k at review picture... smh 😅
Haha yes! My screen is quite bad but I know the image will turn out how I want it 🥲
