I don't know where to start with this video. The fact that there are images of the Aerial or Turn A Gundams, when they are most decidedly NOT the RX-78 or even from the same timeline. Tem Ray (Amuro's) dad was one of the chief designers. You talk about the Hyper Bazooka, but just show the Beam Rifle again. The fact that by the end of the One Year War the RX-78 was on paper out performed by most Zeon mobile suits & it was just that Amuro was a newtype as to why it was still viable. The list goes on
The rx-78 is the first mobile suit made by the earth federation, tho it's not the first humanoid machine made by them, the guntank and guncannons were developed first and the Gundam was made afterwards. Also the Rx-78 we see amuro use is the 2nd unit, which is why it's listed as the rx-78-2. The other 2 units were destroyed during the first episode when the colony was attacked. Most of the official settings were decided after the show for continuity and other parts were further expanded on in supplementary media. Lastly the rx-78-2 was already out of date during the later parts of the war, specifically the zeon's gelgoog matched/surpassed the gundam's specs, the earth federation also developed gm snipers which also surpassed the gundam's specs, tho this was also only seen outside of the original anime.
Though the first Real Robot series, Gundam still carries some Super Robot DNA. That's why the Gundam is so colourful and heroic looking. The story's creator, Tomino, wanted the Gundam to be grey and more military looking, but the sponsor (the toy company, Clover) demanded it be colourful to fit in with all the other Super Robot toys of the time. Amuro Ray being an everyman teenager who is just a civilian is also probably something that was implemented to keep it in line with the Gundam's contemporaries. In the novels, which seems to be more based on Tomino's original ideas, Amuro is already in the military when the story starts. IMO, the epitome of Real Robot mecha is Armored Trooper Votoms, which was also made by Sunrise. It took all the war themes and military aspect of Gundam and cranked it up to 11. The main character is a cold-hearted military vet with PTSD from all the atrocities he committed on the battlefield. And the mecha are expendable walking death traps that are completely function over form.
