Fun fact: Stargazer is the only Gundam not intended for fighting but rather space exploration, it’s Solar Sail (or the Voiture Lumiere) captures solar wind energy and converts it into propulsion, which would enable it to accelerate indefinitely as long as it’s moving. However, it did end up being used in combat because the base was being attacked, and oh boy it’s fucking strong.
Sounds like an example of 'it wasn't meant for combat but it's surprisingly good at it'. Exploration is a pretty tough thing in any environment, after all.

Considering the distances, the small as fuck asteroids, fuel storage, etc etc. there’s a lot to consider when going to the far reaches of space. Also considering they’re at war they don’t really have the luxury of doing a ton of space exploration research

Literally 99% the Gundam pilots we have seen so far are underaged children, even the adult ones, like Shiro and Domon and merely in their early 20s. Hell Kou Uraki is 19 despite looking like 30 by the end of 0083.
My favorite is still Barbatos. He literally just bursts up from the ground, kills one Graze, damages a second, and uses retreating soldiers as cover. Then, he does basically the same thing with the next 2 versions of Barbatos. Each time he gets a completely new suit, he shows up mid-battle, destroys a bunch of enemies, and the enemies retreat

I love videos like these and I’m so glad someone finally made a comprehensive one. Nothing beats the feeling of a sick lauch sequence for a new mobile suit. I still think the Double X is my favourite though. So badass. My only complaint is that you kept some instances of first combat for certain mobile suits but not other (basically I just wanted to see the Zeta and Nu Gundam kick ass lol)

I like how many Gundam activation feels like they're piloting a real vehicle that require pulling levers, gears and pushing buttons or in some case you need manual like a car. Even when they are able to boot up the engine, some of them still have trouble making the mech walk or even moving their hands. Then there's Domon who karate his way through.
the jump in quality from the original to zeta is really mesmerizing to see, the first episode of zeta got me hooked immediately just by seeing the visuals and knowing the history and cancellation of the original show. Good on sunrise for giving tomino another chance after its posthumous success, good on bandai for saving gundam, and good on tomino for sticking to his guns and doing what he wanted despite the pressure for toy sales. The world is all the better for it.
I like how Hathaway in CCA was telling Quess about how Amuro was rumored to know how to pilot the gunsam the moment he set foot into it but in actuality he was flipping through pages frantically the entire first ride. Still impressive, but really funny how exaggerations are made about war heroes.

There’s just something about the startup sounds of the RX-78-2 Gundam that are incredible to listen to. It’s also great to hear all the different startup/boot-up sounds of all the mechs.
I just recently bought the perfect grade rx-78-2 (same one Adam savage built), I don't know anything about gundam, I just enjoy making the models

I like how many Gundam activation feels like they're piloting a real vehicle that require pulling levers, gears and pushing buttons or in some case you need manual like a car. Even when they are able to boot up the engine, some of them still have trouble making the mech walk or even moving their hands.

the jump in quality from the original to zeta is really mesmerizing to see, the first episode of zeta got me hooked immediately just by seeing the visuals and knowing the history and cancellation of the original show. Good on sunrise for giving tomino another chance after its posthumous success, good on bandai for saving gundam, and good on tomino for sticking to his guns and doing what he wanted despite the pressure for toy sales. The world is all the better for it.

Gundam has always struck me as a weird combination of brutal war drama and children piloting giant toys.
I like how Hathaway in CCA was telling Quess about how Amuro was rumored to know how to pilot the gunsam the moment he set foot into it
but in actuality he was flipping through pages frantically the entire first ride. Still impressive, but really funny how exaggerations are made about war heroes.
