One of my favorite Guitarist of all time. He has such an amazing tone and approach to the instrument. The Osbornes done him dirty!
I must agree
I wonder how much Ozzy had to do with it? I like Zakk, I love Randy but I was once again crushed at the Osborne’s for being greedy and arrogant for their treatment of Jake and Randy!
@@robert.m4676 More to do with Sharon then Ozzy Perhaps. Like Wendy of Dio.
True they did screw him over .Ozzy has said he and Jake never made a personal connection with each other and that Jake tried to take over the musical direction of the band .where he and Rhoads were very connected on just the music but also on a personal level.
Ozzy pretends to not know,or pretended then, pretty sure he has no idea wtf is going on now. The Osbournes actually F'ed Bob Daisley worse than Jake.
Jake E Lee has been to the pinnacle of success and the lows of starting over, yet he remains humble. What an amazing talent. The way he picks just about every note is insane.
Just awsome
Badlands......What a f$&@ing band. Between Jake's playing and Ray's singing it was magnificent. I have never heard a better vocalist. He was one of a kind.
I was just playing along to a few songs off that album. Do I play them perfectly? Nope. Could I ever? Doubt it. Do I "hear" something new every time I pay attention? Absolutely.
Red Dragon Cartel is a successor to Badlands. Git to check them out. You won't be disappointed.
Saw Ray live while he stepped in at short notice for Black Sabbath, did well given how little time he had to learn the songs
Jake was at the height of his powers in Badlands!
Seems, much like Sampson Jake’s awesomeness was tied to the length of his hair.
Jake was always one of my favorites. He had his ups and downs like most but he was a great player with great stage presence. His cleaner type jazz playing was so good.
Was??
Still is.
I loved Randy Rhodes and wasn’t sure if Ozzy would ever find anyone of that same caliber and inventiveness. But instantly when I heard Jake, wow!
Ups and downs?!! You know anyting?! Nobody knows that you're talkin about! Jake E is the greatest of all time
He is one of the best in History
Great song writer and a good guy, thank you also for viewing
What I thought separated Jake from others is that no one quite sounded like him in his writing style. He was right down the middle balancing great tech skills with alot of raw emotion, but in his fills and licks he always took you to a place unexpected but definitely desired. He left alot of space in his playing too. A perfectly concocted recipe for something memorable...That's for sure. Even with better shredders, alot of his work on BATM still holds close to the top of the heap today. He's a musician's guitar player for sure...Thanks Mr. LEE...Still listening:)
right down the middle balancing great tech skills, I would say that's a correct statement, great songwriter also, Jeff I appreciate you viewing, My 100th video is next
I couldn't have said that better. I've always said that his playing held the spirit of the seventies with the necessary components of the eighties
@@markc5771 Thanks...I feel the same way...All the best:)
Hands down, Jake is one of my all time favorites… not only for his soloing, but for his unique rhythms. The chords he chose were fucking fantastic… great player, very overlooked.
To me one of the best! Very under rated.
A Good guy also that's always a plus
Heck yeah I was pissed at Sharon for wrecking another good thing. She sucks cause Jake E. Lee was incredible and still is!
Jake E. Lee is definitely NOT underrated. He's one of the most respected and highly regarded guitarists in rock.
Very happy to have seen Jake live with Ozzy back in the day... That first guitar solo you show is just epic...
Yes indeed Sir, and thank you kindly for watching
Ozzy trying to rip his hair out
@@scottgarber4558 Lol yeah, Bang Zoom, one of these days Ozzy, just kidding. Thanks for viewing.
The guy's recorded works are right up there with anyone on a playing level and with regards to writing/composition. Incredible. Just Badlands alone...amazing.
He's top 5 in my list no matter what he plays ....i just love his playing!
Certainly a great song writer that's for sure, thank you Robert for viewing I appreciate it
@@theguitartemplepriest your welcome ...Jake should know he's appreciated big time and I'm glad to I've seen him live in Scotland a couple of times.

He's one of my favourite guitar players of all time, he's so bloody talented, I LOVE HIM!!
My favorite guitarist Amazing style, Hair, looks and playing and probably the best moves in heavy metal. A complete player and show man.
He was pretty cool, I agree, thank you for viewing
Just subbed after this random post popped up. Jake was and still is one of my favorite bad ass guitar slingers of all time! His live performances are all amazing and incredible. Long live Jake E. Lee!
Sir yes Sir, Great song writer as well, Steven thank you ever so kindly for viewing & more so subscribing I certainly appreciate it, My 100th Video is next.
It's great seeing this compilation of Jake's career. Definitely one of the best guitar players / songwriters of our generation. His solos always fit the songs perfectly. He could be slow and tasteful or rip. Badlands was an incredible band. I saw them several times and got to meet Jake at the Troubodour after their Christmas (Dec 23rd) concert. Talked with him for 20 minutes. At the end of the night he came over and said good-night. Blew me away. We left about 5 minutes later and ran into Jake and his roadie / friend on the way to my car. We chatted some more. Talked about a show I saw him at in NY. Then I moved back to NY to go to college. Jake had formed a new band called Wicked Alliance. Got to see them in a small bar. Planted myself in front of Jake to watch the master at work. In the middle of the set he saw and recognized me. Mouthed "what are you doing here?" After the show, he came over to me and we started talking. First thing he asked was about our meeting in California and what I was doing in NY. Hard to imagine I made that big of an impression on Jake. It definitely made me a happy young man. I listen to all of the music written by Jake. Other influences were Randy, Warren, George, SRV and Kirk. Jake definitely had the biggest impact on my own playing (just for fun) and composing.
I think you have seen more concerts then any of us here I think Lol, Pretty cool you Met Jake E Lee Nice fella I understand.
Jake's solo and lead out on Bark at the Moon is still one of my favourite guitar solos ever. If he had managed to find a band that did him justice and stick with them, he could have been a legend. Badlands should have been a supergroup, but they fell apart too soon and he never seemed to recover from that, just disappeared. Maybe he upset the wrong people and was an outcast from the hierarchy of the scene, but trying to find his music online these days is a struggle.
Badlands should have been a supergroup, but they fell apart too soon and he never seemed to recover from that..... I agree with that Statement Philip, Glad you liked the video, I have a new one coming late today.
I wouldn't say they "fell apart" as much as I would say "shut down" . Not trying to resurrect any past darkness of the band ,but after Ray's diagnosis AND his antics away from the band, there really wasn't a choice. I do agree that he never seemed to recover from it, though.
@@CS-ru4xd Good point's Sir
Mine too
Jake was the John 5 of the 80s,, from 80 to 88 this man on top,, those two albums with Ozzy guitar wise was amazing
Very cool to watch also.
No he was the Jake E Lee of the eighties.
I always thought it was interesting how Jake puts his signature on the Randy Rhoads Ozzy tunes on the live recordings. He’s in my top 5 all time list.
He was always my favorite Ozzy guitarist.
a true fan, thank you sir
Randy changed the game Jake was just another Randy Eddie hybrid
Jake's work in Badlands had possibly the largest influence on my own playing and writing out of almost anyone else. Not to mention his work with Ozzy. In his prime, I think he was untouchable. Extremely unique and innovative, with a huge dose of charisma and stage presence. Excellent picking technique and very identifiable. The way he would fearlessly bend that neck to get whammy effects was amazing, often it was downright frightening! I always expected to see that neck snap clean off, he would bend it so much!
Jakes a good player but nothing great .
@@herbcanter2114 Opinions vary..........
One of my favorite guitarist. Very clever guitar player! 🎸
As the years pass, Jake’s unique genius becomes more apparent.
Jake is a ringer. And you can't beat a ringer. That's the way he sets himself up. He proved that when he formed Badlands and went out and got the best singer in the world. And he kept it blues simple . You can't lose when you use the blues. Cinderella. Great white. Lynch mob with Oni Logan. Fastway. Whitesnake. 🙏
I wasn't particularly into hair metal bands like cinderella, great white, poison and even GnR because I was a thrasher. I now realize these bands had great SKILL, much more than what todays "toy rock and metal" bands have to give
@@Thrash_ranch these bands mostly had their influences and blues and they played more of a bluesy metal than a straight metal.
@@chriskroll4166 early NWOBHM bands for that matter, almost all of them took their influences from Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Vaughn
@@Thrash_ranch whenever I listen to those 80's bands I hear a lot of led Zeppelin also . Aerosmith too .😁
Damn what a Great list. The saddest part of that list is Jack Russell. What an Awesome Awesome voice Jack had to just let it all go to shit. I met and really enjoyed talking with Jeff LeBar at Nashville concerts. He was such a nice, down to earth guy. I LOVED Cinderella concerts. What a shame. Terrible loss.
A very humble man who thinks he's nobody but if there was such a place as a Guitar Temple, his statue would be no smaller than Eddie's or even Randy's.
That's why he is here at our Guitar Temple, we will keep the spotlight on the true greats, he is one guy anyone could talk to, a very down to earth guy that's true, Thank you for viewing Sir
En mi opinión mejor que Randy
@@fkngfkngdiablo2360 is Rembrandt better than Van Gogh?
I'm glad Jake seems to be getting his flowers, even if it's long overdue. Lots of people starting to realise how amazing he is. Bark at the Moon has some of the best riffs ever put together.
I am happy for him as well, a good guy.
I would argue that The Ultimate Sin had better riffs....all amazing, nonetheless
Also the challenge of doing it right just recorded a cover of bark where in playing all the parts
One of my all time favorite guitar players, Jake E. Lee, LOVE HIM!
I like how he reverse-slanted the bridge pickup on his Charvel Strats to give his sound a thickness and bite it otherwise wouldn't have.
Interesting, thank you , I Didn't know that, appreciate it, thank you for viewing, my 100th video is next.
I also reverse the bridge pickup angle on Fender style Telecasters away from the treble side of the bridge which gives the effect of playing the guitar in an upside down orientation as if Paul McCartney or Jimi Hendrix often played the right handed instruments left-handed
The look, the sound, the chops, the flash. Hell yes he had it all. (still does)
Very Cool guy that's for sure.
Loved him since ‘83….the cool chirp sound he gets with some picked notes , his wide vibrato, many tricks and techniques, and of course songwriting and great stage moves…..one of the best
You are not alone Sir, he is a very loved guitarist, I guess he is a pretty good guy also I understand, But yes indeed he has a HUGE Following, thank you ever so kindly for viewing.
Jake e lee is always respectful to the source. He has made Randy's music his own without ever missing the phrasing or licks we expect. Look for a mistake in any of his live work, a true reminder how important practice is with your stage vibe. Plus, I guess some guys just have it. A true inspiration and I find his playing still full of gems.
A Real Good Guy humble & certainly a True Rock Star.
I guess you haven’t seen him in the US festival, if had you wouldn’t have said anything about him not missing a lick or phrasing on Randy’s work.
JE.LEE is one of BEST! Looking at him today who else believes he will always be remembered a legend?
Ozzy's material from Blizzard through No More Tears is his classic solo era. He was never the same after his first retirement stint. Those first 6 albums with 3 guitarists all contributing two each brought something new two the table. While I have the Rhoads material as clearly my favorite, I like what Jake did on BATM/TUS and Zakk on NRFTW/NMT. Even though I have Randy as my clear number one, the song Bark at the Moon and its solo stacks up against anything off the first two albums with Rhoads. I liked Zakk before the Viking Biker look, and there is some phenomenal guitar work on the two records, but nothing stacked up to Bark at the Moon imo. Jake and Daisley laid down some magic with that one.
Wow ! You Nailed it on All points, especially how you and I prefer earlier Zakk. I thought Zakk was just Phenomenal during No Rest For the Wicked and No More Tears. I just Totally lost all interest once he reached the whole SDMF / BLS biker/lumberjack/viking wannabe bullshit. What the hell is his deal with constantly spitting up in the air above Himself ? He became Repulsive, and honestly never sounded as good again. He seems to be one Messed up dude. Jake E Lee is just Awesome ! Absolute magical guitar Wizard. Ozzy says he hated that period, when ironically, the Jake period is my Favorite Ozzy period. I LOVED the Ultimate Sin tour. Years later I would see whatever tour where Ozzy had Joe Holmes on guitar, and I hated it.
@@shaunclifton5281 I think Holmes was part of the Ozzmosis tour in 96/97. I get what you mean with Zakk and his spitting. There's a pro shot show from 89' in Philly where Zakk is doing the spitting in the air thing like he's trying to catch it again. So he's done that from the beginning. It is kinda sick but looks even worse when he looks like a dirty biker guy.
I never liked Sharon but there's one thing that I found myself agreeing with her on and that's when she made the statement about Zakk turning Ozzys music into a BLS project, and I was hearing the same thing. After Ozzmosis, Ozzys music started to have these muddy uninspired guitar riffs and the production left a lot to be desired. It sounded like leftover mediocre riffs Zakk didn't use for BLS. I've always said that Ozzy solo sounded the best when he was more hard rock and less metal. Those bright sounding uplifting guitar parts Rhoads and Jake put to tape was just a better fit for him. Stuff like I Don't Know, Flying High Again, BATM, Shot In The Dark etc..just sounded better to my ears. I also agree with you that Zakk sounded great on NRFTW. That's one of my favorite Ozzy albums. Even NMT had some outstanding material looking back and still had Ozzy sounding like rock n roll. He only sounded good doing the darker doom stuff when he was with Sabbath, and I personally think the best Sabbath albums are Vol-4,SBS,Sabotage, where they started to get more progressive and away from the simple doom sound from their first 3.
Your comment pretty much sums up my thoughts also .I too think Ozzys best all time work is those first two records with Randy Rhoads .this was music that Randy had to come up with from a genre and style he was completely new to .Quiet Riot from the 70s was a pop group that's flamboyance was created in the honor of David Bowie and Mic Ronson so when Randy joined Ozzy he was out of his element in every way finding himself on another Continent having to create Heavy Metal music something he had never liked let alone had any experience with and was probably thinking he was in way over his head when he first sat down with Ozzy and asked "what do you want me to write" probably not having a clue and when Ozzy replied "just be yourself" that was the 3 best words Ozzy could have ever said to Randy cause it let him know that this new bands music was not gonna be like Black Sabbath's and let him draw from his educational perspective to write something completely new and unique .which is exactly what Ozzy wanted .after touring with Van Halen while in Sabbath he wanted to be in more of a Rock guitar oriented band simular to VH rather than the gloom and doom devil type like Sabbath was .and the result of this was what came out on the Blizzard an Diary recordings .this is wat made those 2 records stand out and caught the attention of the Rock fans around the world .and Lee's entry into Ozzys band was different in he was already playing music from that genre and really nailed it with Bark of the Moon .his playing and music was more explosive and hard rock driven than the first two albums and having to fill Rhoads shoes was something that couldn't have been easy by any stretch of the imagination .but he owned it and allowed Ozzy to carry on instead of fading away after Randy's death that could have very well happened had he not got the right guy .and Zach kept it going with his first 2 records. Like you after this Ozzys music wasn't quite the same Ozzy was having personal and health issues .he didn't have Bobs influence and lyrics anymore which was a HUGE part of Ozzy earlier success .Zach was wanting to do his own thing and Ozzy had a revolving door of musicians from this point on and never had anyone to create something special and magical anymore .
@@johnhagan582 Spot on I think. Randy was an absolutely brilliant composer and still moves me to this very day. Lee was certainly more explosive style-wise and had better stage presence. He really did a great job keeping Ozzy's act together for a while and did an awesome job with Randy's material. As an album, BATM is quite a distant third for me - with the title song the sole exception. And Shot in the Dark was magnificent. But his writing paled to what Randy could create. That said, onstage Jake was brilliant. I actually think most of Lee's solo's were better improvised on stage, unlike Randy who played best after carefully composing and phrasing his solos, like Mr. Crowley. Interesting contrast. But Randy was far better at creating unique, out of the box melodies and fills... like in I Don't Know... you never expect what comes next but when it does it's absolute genius. And truly masterful, epic compositions like the way Diary builds to a dramatic climax. Randy's passion and fire were magical. I rarely felt that way with Jake's studio playing. There are a few moments when he hit it, but then slides into some fast pentatonic thing in a major key and just noodles off. But onstage, it's another story altogether. Never saw such a natural in front of a crowd!
Anyway... let's not forget about Bob Daisley. He was the glue and catalyst for much of the early music. Thank God he wrote all the lyrics... LOL
As far as chops are concerned, I always ponder what Randy might have become with another decade to develop once the genre had taken off. And he'd gone back to studying Classical for a while. He'd surely have been influenced by Vai, Satch, Yngwie, Freidman, Gilbert, etc... I could easily have seen him on the G3 tour and collaborating with everyone to create unexpected, brilliant and moving music. It would have been glorious...
@@Mike-eq4ky See I saw all 3 players (Rhoads .Lee. Whilde) .and IMO Rhoads had the greatest stage presence of anyone ever with maybe the exceptions of Hendrix and Page .and the live solo he did on Mr Crowley at the After Hours Promo was the Greatest Heavy Metal Guitar solo in history .the feeling he put into that eyes closed the entire time was unbelievable .but that's just my take brother .thanks for the reply though forsure
Badlands was one of my favorites back in the day. Probably the most under-rated band of the 90's.
Nobody sounds like Jake.
Everything Jake does is good regardless of who he's working with at the time.
Out of all the players to come out of the 80’s Hard Rock/Metal era Jake was no doubt in my mind the most advanced, original, and explosive of them all.
It’s an absolute shame he did not get the writing credits he deserved for “ Bark at the Moon”.
yeah, that's a dirty dirty shame. so often happens to the sidemen/songwriters in the music business. just because they're not the "star..."
Who did Sharon gives those to?
@@bondalero0074 Ozzy

I was just a kid on the Badlands last UK tour, but I was at the Newcastle Riverside and met the whole band. They were surprisingly chill, no obvious tension. I was aware of the fall out and the kerrang story, but they invited us all into the venue to hangout. I was at the front for the show directly in front of Jake and his electric fan, blowing cool air into his hair! The band were fucking amazing. The energy and power was, to date, unsurpassed!
Sounds like a great day, I take it he was Melting like a snow cone in Phoenix Lol
He certainly is part of the most talented and amazing to see and hear. Very creative musician I love his playing!!! This is a cool tribute to him thanks for sharing. Cheers!
Thank you ever so kindly for appreciating my video compilation of Jake E Lee, always nice to hear.
Jake is an amazing musician with a very unique style. His body of work speaks for itself. Very under rated considering he is every bit as good as Randy was.
Respect your opinion but not in the same class as Randy in mine. Just listen to isolated tracks. Rhoades is on a different level with crisper, cleaner, and more technically advanced. Writing composition we could argue but Jake was given zero credit. Jake E. Is still great though
Jake E Lee is unbelievable. Not only his solos, they were always perfect for the song but his use of unique chords, inverted chords, triads etc, showed his knowledge of the instrument. His song writing is top notch and his left hand technique is almost impossible to replicate. He is one of the best to ever do it. He has been and always will be one of my top 5 guitarist of all time. Randy, Jake, Zakk, Slash and John Sykes are my top 5.
If that's your top 5 they aren't very good.
Interesting list! Personally, I would not include Slash and I actually need to listen to John Sykes, but I'm going to add Vai, Satch, Yngwie, Gilbert, and Friedman. And of course we can't forget Eddie...
Just for ONE day I'd like to be able to play like any of them... What a day that would be!
Idk, I play guitar as a hobby and Idk why but Jake E Lee is one of my main influences, freakin' love his playing style but freakin' loooove it! 🤘🔥
By far the most underrated and forgotten. Dude was really on another level. I didn't "discover" him until a few years ago because nobody ever talked about him. His work on those Ozzy albums only reaffirms this the more you break it down.
Jake is one of the best that I have ever heard, and he has only gotten better.
I saw Jake E Lee with Ozzy Osbourne at the monster of rock in 1984 other bands on the bill included AC/DC ,Van Halen Motley Crue Y&T and Gary Moore both Jake E Lee and Gary Moore were the best guitarist that day
That was my first gig. What do you mean they're not all like this?
Absolute genius 👌, his riffs and chord phrasing are up there with the best rock guitar players ever, he's in my top 10 guitarist of all time👌
Very hard to play those Stretchy parts he plays, a nice guy also that add more points in my opinion
The best guitarist indeed , seen him live when I was 12 , still my favourite, Love Jake E Lee
Jake E. (Lee)W. Thirteen years of musicianship before climbing the stage with Ozzy Osbourne. And, reaching near epitome; to going one-step further and reaching[1980's] 1/5 Guitar-God status. Yet, still climbing. Horns out Mr. Williams. Horns out!
He has a new LP out with Red Dragon Cartel I believe .
3:16 ...Did.... did Jake just create a dive bomb effect by tapping a natural harmonic and then pressing on the string behind the nut?! I don't think I've ever seen that before, that's nuts. I imagine someone else had done it previously that I didn't know of, but that's kinda blowing my mind right now
I thought that was cool also, thanks for viewing Sir.
Jake said he didn't need a Floyd Rose. This proves that. He also stated that when he has one he abuses it! Ha!
Also a great pianist, Jake can move seamlessly between guitar styles and his creativity is off the charts.
I didn't know that, interesting, Shawn Lane was that way a world class guitarist but a fantastic Piano player as well, both were nice guys.
I didn't know that either. So yet another thing he could match with Eddie VH =) Reportedly he played VH covers as good as EVH
I have got to say Jake E Lee is absolutely amazing and extremely talented! What a fantastic soul !
To me its not a question of good and bad. Jake has the most enjoyable style and attitude. His tone choice and taste is above most of all other guitarist out there. I simply dont get bored listening to him.❤
I can agree with that, keeps your attention and that makes for a great entertainer, he is a nice guy also. Thank you for viewing

I first saw Jake E. Lee when I saw a VHS tape of Ozzy Osbourne concert at me special friend Tonya Zenor' moms house in the 80's.
Me best friend Vince Irwin died of a drowning when to barges passed a jon boat fishing in the Illinois river.
Poor old zakk wylde could never even come close to the talent this man has.. not in a million years.. he might be able to cover jake and randys songs close to how they were written.. but thats about it... and it shows
I will say to you, I think the issue with Ozzy about Zakk (for me) is that Ozzy stuck with him too long. After Ozzmosis that should have been it for Mr. Pinch harmonic. So it got old to all of us hearing this guy (Zakk) play pentatonic scales. Zakk is a physical meat and potato guy, where as Jake is a fiery finesse player who is very unorthodox. But you have to admit when No Rest for the Wicked dropped. That shit was ballsy and heavy. Omg
I only know bark at the moon. Outstanding guitar work. What was Sharron thinking?

When did he play for DIO?, If he did I guess I missed that, but I definitely want to hear it.
Yes indeed, I myself was shocked to find that, it was a very short period , just like Garry Moore played with SKID ROW I thought well that can't be lol but it was a band in Ireland once upon a time.
It was about six weeks. Jake actually worked on Holy Diver, but he says he basically just played what Ronnie had in his head so he could figure it out lol

Opinions on who the best guitarists are is subjective man. Jake was brilliant, anyone who questions or scoffs at that needs to have their hearing examined or has no concept of what a great player is. He was as good or better than Randy and for people who want to argue the whole classical angle, Jake was classically trained on piano. Randy was never formally classically trained & has said as much in interviews. This Don guy mentions all these virtuoso players & they’re all outstanding technical players, but I’m sorry Don, that shit goes in one ear & out the other. It’s boring a.f. Players like Jake, Eddie, George Lynch, and Warren DeMartini catch the interest of even the untrained ear due to the fact that they play with fire & a certain reckless abandon. Wish more kids would listen to guys like that instead of Tosin Abasi & the like. Learn how to write a song, not shred aimlessly kids!Too many nerds, not enough rockstars lol!
Thumbs up for the Rock Stars, I don't know who Don is but if Jake is at My site he is a True Rock Star Sir
You gotta hear this guy, an unknown, who can shred, but with passion and fire! His name is Adriano Kaverna.
@@if6wuz9 Thank you for the tip! I’ll definitely check him out!🎼🎸
@@if6wuz9 Thanks for the note, yes i indeed will check it out, thank you for viewing also.

Very cool!
You may want to check out Igor Paspalj or Max Ostro. Those two are incredible!🍻
Ok l followed, clicked the bell, and commented. Keep up the good work.
Good man Mark, Thank you ever so very kindly for doing so, I certainly do appreciate it Sir, see you again soon.
I saw him with Ozzy and man did he put on a show! I think he's the one that made me definitely want to play guitar! Great player and showman!!
Seen him on the ultimate sin tour! Jake was amazing that night! Was throwing up all night and sat on a chair and played! Had the flu! Even being sick he killed it!!!!!!🤘
J.E.L. was wasting his talent playing for Ozzy. He is much more than just a Metal shredder. I would have loved to have heard more JEL with Ozzy as long as he could have had a Blues and Jazz side project. His "A Fine Pink Mist" LP was ahead of it's time.
Ozzy and Sharon were annoyed that he drew so much attention. They were jelly at JELEE.
Who was bigger and better than OZZY? That was one darn good gig. OZZY filled enormo-domes across the planet for close to 50 years. Nobody is too good for that. A gig in Toronto, wow, that's a long way away from Montréal...Montréal baby 🤘
@@DaveClark-ib6sp Lol. John was a former frontman but at that point just a very depressed addict with no future until he and Bob (Daisley) decided to try to form a band! Bob and John had many musicians they tried out to play with before they went with Randy because it clicked between songwriter&bassist Bob and Randy. A bit later Bob got the drummer, singer&pianist Lee into the band which they called The Blizzard of Ozz. The band, primarily Bob and Randy wrote the songs, but also Lee and John.
The Arden family management just schemed the band to be printed as a solo artist on the album covers even though they were already touring as The Blizzard of Ozz band. The band, but primarily Bob&Randy made the music outstanding, which is why John got a career as a band frontman back, except for his and the management's deception which made him a "solo artist" with a backing band, which was total bullcrap.
Then Randy died and so it was back to square one on how to write and play as good music. There were good players out there, but also writing, that's a necessary component.
Enter Jake.
He and Bob wrote the next 2 albums which, if people would be honest, were the first albums agreeably ment to be under a solo project brand moniker. Working with Bob, Jake made many homeruns delivering exceptionally outstanding and iconic music for history to remember. And just like the BOO band he got screwed, but even worse by the Osbourne-Arden company. He forgave them. But most of all, he was and is a good person, so yes, for sure, he was too good, better and a bigger man than John in more ways than a dozen.
Ps. The original commenter wrote "too talented" but you read something else, but that's ok cause as proven those praising claims you ascribed to the OC comment would also apply to J.E.L.
So??? What about RANDY RHODES OR ZAKK WYLDE? EITHER OF WHICH COULD GIVE JAKE MORE COMPETITION THAN HE COULD HANDLE...OZZY HAS ALWAYS HAD A PRODIGY ON GUITAR IN HIS BAND...
What happened to him...BADLANDS DIDNT MAKE IT TOO FAR...THEN WHAT...
Simple answer no
Your answer is subjective.
Wow 7/8/83 growing up to lee music
I really enjoyed this. Brought back some great memories.
Yes indeed, When Rock Stars were Rock Stars Thank God for Memories Right. Talk soon.
Nice playing! 💚🎸
Jake E Lee is one the true GOATS. If you test his skills against anyone, he comes short to none.
Had the chance to meet Jake a while back
Sweet guy and phenomenal player
Was life changing seeing him on the BATM tour in 84
Just incredible
I can agree with that also. Thanks for viewing.
I liked your outro jams . Without your video I would have never known who Jake E . Lee is and what a great musician he is . Keep up the good work .
Michael I can't thank you enough for the very kind words, I so appreciate your positive vote of confidence in my guitar playing as well Sir THANK YOU, Most people of the world couldn't give a compliment if there life depended on it lol, Yes Interesting history, Jake E Lee said it right out of his mouth he was a guitarist for DIO'S Band in the Las Angelos seen and also playing for RATT also in the L.A. Seen so makes for quite the history, I am glad you tell me what you like snd the way I put it together this way I can better develop The Temple in the right direction, Thank you for viewing Michael.
One of my fav guitarist
Jake is one of the greatest ever. Nobody can ever erase what he's done.his music will echo in eternity.i even named my first son after him.
Very honorable he is a guitarist to be respected, thank you for viewing Kevin.
From an old 80s guitarist, who hasn't picked up a guitar in 20plus years😢.....liked and subbed👍😎
Thank you for the Subscription Kenny Lee, I appreciate it Sir.
Great interview 👍 anyone who lived the uncle ozzy roads what a pro
Absolutely, Guitar 👑🎸 King
Jake thank you!
The ppl like us still bow and love you and your work.
It'll never go away my friend.
Best wishes..
That's a true fan, we have our Idol's our great memory's that brings us to a time in our life, that's what I like about it.
Jake E. Lee doesn't owe an explanation to anyone, anywhere. He's a one of a kind guitar God. Always #1 in my humble opinion.
I agree with you, There is no discounting Jake E Lee, he is a good guy also. Thank you for viewing I appreciate it sir.
I was a teenager when Jake was in Ozzy. Loved his playing. (if Ozzy pulled my hair like he did Jake on this video, I would of had a chat with him backstage. Stage antic's are one think, pain is another.) And as soon as Badlands 1st CD came out, I got it thru Colombia House Record Club if you older guys remember that? I really like Jake's style. Great time in the 80's to grow up playing guitar 🔥🎸🔥
Yes, he is. His work on The Ultimate Sin is incredible
Jake you are no doubt an iconic musician. You've been an all time favorite of mine. Keep on rocking.
Sir yes Sir, thanks for viewing Joel
I loved his bluesy sound with Badlands.
My fav ozzy guitarist
I saw Jake front row right in front on the US83 Festival. Jake rocked it hard that day.
Very cool Indeed, was he with Ratt, Ozzy, Dio, badlands, Or Red Dagon Cartel ? He looked so cool in those days
I wasn't at US83 festival but have seen the footage of those great bands there. Triumph, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Motley Crue tore it up. Rob Halford jee wizz I can almost feel his vibrato through my TV lol. Hey John who was you main influence guitar wise. Love your tone.
@@USA-sx1xi Well thank you ever so very kindly for the Great Compliment, Who were my Influences (Guitar Wise that is) hmmmm well I'd say Larry Carlton was my 1st Big change, before that was BB King Jeff Beck Jimmi Page, David Gilmore but as for technique and the start of wanting to learn more & who changed my direction as a guitarist was Al Di Miola but mostly LARRY CARLTON Lightning Strikes LP, his playing influenced me to go to The Guitar Institute where I saw my teacher DON MOCK & I thought he was God of guitar, years after that the biggest change again for higher learning was Frank Gambale however it was his student ALEX HUTCHINGS more than Frank himself on how I wanted to play like (Alex Hutchings) a World Class player with Tons of FEELING and of course Guthrie Govane but I like Alex Hutchings Guitar playing. Now at this stage I am eye balling Egor Paspalj & Matteo Mancuso , it never ends lol but if were talking about well known guitarist it famous band the winner is Randy Rhoads.
You're lucky! Jake is a monster.
@@nicolamagnone1557 I was lucky that day and headed to the front row, I followed a huge biker, he looked back at me and said he would plow a path for me to the 3rd row, I wiggled my way to the barrier. This man towered over me, Im 5,6 ,He was like 6,5. I never forget people (the crowd) moving for him. I just stepped where he was, step by step there I was in the front row with Jake just a few feet away. Best concert of my youth hands down. Wonderful experience. That whole day was just unbelievable.
Jake is such an inspiration he's the main reason I started playing hardtail guitars instead of whammy bar
Jake is one of my faves. Very underrated. I'll take him over Zakk any day! He made some of Ozzy's best music.
Subbed. Jake is a legend
Thank you Jimmy Great to have you here Sir
Jake is the 💣 my fave Ozzy guitarist, in my top 20 mos def🤘🏾
