ok, so what was wrong that you had to replace it though? plus you do not show anything on how to pull cable thru the boot, how to remove the cable from the bracket, and how to but everything back together again and how to properly adj the cable to the proper transmission shift setting!

I couldn't get the plate to move,I took a pair of channel locks and squeezed the top of the cable against the metal tab on top and it popped right in and locked.
