That's like, *the perfect comment.* Oh, and Sue's narration: great little insights dropped like so many golden bread crumbs to guide your way back out of your project. A1 job by everyone.

My experience at 10:45: 2 hours of hard hammering and cold chisel and it barely came out. If you are living inside the salt belt, forget about the hammer, rent a heavy three teeth puller - by the way, if you hit with the hammer even just once on the bearing, you have to replace the bearing because the metal 'round' that holds the wheel lugs to the bearing will bend even so slightly from that hammer hit (absolutely not visible to the eye) and guess what (ask me how I know), you will be driving down the road and all of a sudden the wheel will start clunking, you will stop and realize all wheel lugs are loose, you will tighten them, drive away and guess what will happen after another 2 miles. So no choice, once you put the hammer on the bearing, even just a hit, it has to be replaced.
The only 'grip' with the video is the bearing bolts are stretch type, so you should replace with new ones (ask on forums). Same for the axle bolt
Also, The axles can get stuck inside the hub (often on XC90 because the dealership might have coated the axle splines with red threadlock because the center bolt was getting loose), furget about fighting with the axle, some people even put the hub/axle on 20 ton press and no ditch (which will also destroy the bearing), just replace the hub/axle with used ones from the junkyard. Don't furget the black plastic seal between the bearing and the axle: it protects the bearing seal from corrosion. And may check my channel for a couple of S60 videos (like 500 😊)

Why not bolt hub first then install drive shafts. I’m replacing struts so their out so the hub lays down
I did my first one like this and it’s difficult.
The second one I pulled out the shaft and got full access to back of knuckle and used my power tool remove bolts.
First one over an 2 hours, I’m slow and limited in tools. Second one under 10 minutes

I'm going to change the wheel bearings on my friends V70, searched the tube and got this informative video 😺
But it is some things I would try to do different. Put the hub bolts in the holes first when the drive axle is away. Lube the inside where the hub sits. Try not to get dirt on my brake pads, and get the hub bolts tightend in a cross pattern 😉
Instead of loosen the bolts on the strut, wouldn't it be easier to remove the bottom nut? I guess you don't have to check the wheel alignment then (or what it's called 😺).
I'll see how it goes in a few weeks 😺

Use a small wire brush on a low speed drill to clean knuckle bore prior to bearing install. sharp scraper may be required for deposits. No mention of the seal between the CV joint and inboard side of the bearing. Lube the splines. Neverseize the hub at rotor install. Thanks for the torque specifications.

Thank you so much for these videos. Long time listener. First time caller 😅 The videos were determining factor in where I spent my money. Please everyone vote with your wallets!, I love the business model. (Stepping down from my soap box)
I recently purchased the suspension kit and new axels for my 04 XC70 No issues on the install or any parts but now the vehicle won’t start. Is there anything in replacing the spindle hub, axels or any of part of this section that can cause my car to be miss-timed? The spinal sensor? or the cam sensor? I’ve been trying to go down the list of ‘have you tried’? The engine cranks, has plenty of battery (replaced with new) I can here hear the pump priming and there is fuel at the shredder valve when depressed and I have spark.About every 20 tries or so I do get a very short low sputter.
Thank you for any next steps from anyone.
I love what 1A Auto does and support you more than just liking and subscribing.
But that algorithm needs it pound of flesh so of course I’ve done that too.

This lady made at least three gross mistakes.
    1) Do not lubricate the hub with anti-seize grease or any other. The hub is held in place by the frictional force of the mating surfaces, like wheels on disks. It is forbidden to lubricate them.
    2) New bolts must be used, they are always included in the kit.
    3) The bolts are tightened diagonally (crosswise). First by 20 Nm, then up to 65 Nm, and at the end - up to 60 degrees.
P.S. Sometimes smart people watch your videos. ))

I’ve seen a few people saying the hub bolts should have been replaced, and then claim that the new hubs come with new bolts. However, I have checked quite a few parts suppliers and not one single shop sold a new bearing hub that includes new bolts. In my experience, if new bolts are required, they are always included. Could it be that they actually are not required to be changed? Where are people seeing that new ones are required? What is the source of that info?

What the heck!? “The torque on these bolts is 48 ft lbs.” “ now I just need to set up 60 degrees”. What does THAT even mean? And whatever THAT is, it pretty much destroys the concept of a 48 ft lb torque.

The initial figure settles thing. Angular torque is considered to be more consistent given the varying conditions that bolts are tightened in.
