Good job and project thx for sharing enjoyed it Keep building
That would have been a great Mother’s Day present, may have to build one for my mum 😂 thanks Matt 👍😃
I particularly enjoyed all the non-calculation mathematics you did in this video; these are great approaches to finding the line you need, partly because they are so robust. No opportunity to waste material by fumbling numbers, and many opportunities to make small adjustments based on seeing the work take shape in front of you. And as always, I enjoyed the video.
Thank you. It’s definitely my preferred way to work
Nice one Matt!
I have to say, after watching for 1:23, I like your new workshop light very much!
Thank you
Looks great. Looking forward to making one. Loved that I don't need to do the math. Thanks!
Looks really good and a nice colour. I can imagine they are quite expensive to buy in the shops. Good use of scrap wood 👍🏻
Thank you very much
I’d so like to meet your mum…I’ve been imagining the person who lives in this lovely house.
Seeing the opening shot, I think you might be needing another shed🤣🤣
Might have enough to build one
👍👍👍. Thanks Matt
Thank you
Great project, I'm sure your Ma will be very pleased with it.
Thank you. I hope so
Love this!
Thank you
Yay, just spent the last 3hrs sorting my garage out and building some storage so ive only just sat down with a cuppa , perfect timing 👍
You deserve a rest then
Thanks Matt, that's something else that she who must be obeyed wants in the garden!
You sound like you have a long jobs list also
Nice one! Looking forward to hopefully seeing the lil doggo feature in some future videos :)
Thank you. She does love to help
I loved the end result, adding the finial on as a finishing touch made them look really good and the paint just pulls all of the pieces together.
I have to admit that I was waiting for the wood to bow when you ripped it down, it often happens as the tension in the wood is released and I have had more than a few bananas come out of the other end of a rip cut 🙂
I was lucky it stayed straight
I'm sure that mum will be very pleased with your efforts.😁
Thank you. I hope so
Nice work Matt, your Mum will be happy with that obelisk in her garden, great job
Thank you. I hope so
So much brighter in the shop Matt with those new lights. Looks good 👍
Thank you
Really beautiful work, Matt! 😃
But what a good little girl! She's so sweet! ❤
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you very much
Nice build Matt, the supreme boss will be well happy with those.
You should build something for the wee doggo Matt 💚🐶✊
I think she would like that
Nice! Looks like another batch of cookies coming your way. 😊
Thank you
Great project, you've just given me the idea of doing the same but putting some netting on for my sweet peas to grow up! Thanks
Sounds a good idea
Great,next project sorted👍🏻
Great video Matt. It will look good later in the year with the plants wrapped around it. Just a thought, you could have had a matching coloured doggie.
I will have to take some pictures in the summer
Nice one Matt, looks great - loving the outros 😂
Thank you very much
I love your little help mate, great video!
Thank you
I hope that the Boss was suitably impressed Matt ? Was that a Mother's Day present, or was that the "Gift For Hard To Buy For People" video ? 🍷😉
I fitted some lengths of Aluminium angle to the bottom of my Obelisk legs to Anchor it and to keep the timber off the ground you could alternatively use galvanised roll pins to achieve the same result !
This was Mother’s Day. Sounds like a good idea with the legs
lovely project.
Thank you
There is an unfilmed story behind the arrival of the blue plaster at 5:43......
Top tip, don’t touch the saw blade
Nice video Matt!
Thank you
A potential improvement to stop the bottoms rotting and a chance for a little more height - maybe drill some deep holes in the bottom and push some lengths of rebar into them which can go into the ground.
That would work well
Nice job Matt, sometimes a good bashing with a hammer and nails makes a project feel more hand made.
Thank you. It does make a project satisfying
Great video, what's the dog's name?
Thank you. Mabel
just like the way that you do your videos but i want to ask i have truble with spelling but cutting lets say a 4 by 2 straght down for it to be square any tips on that to help me improve yes i could use a chop saw but i like cutting by hand
any tips be great thank you matt
I think you should just buy a miter box if you want to cut straight by hand, very cheap also
I think the mitre box advice is a great one. I would try that
I think he may be looking for a reliable technique to cut a 4 x 2 lengthwise by hand rather than a table saw.
Pfew sure hope not but in that case he should fix 2 straight edges on top of the 2x4 with a tiny space for the blade in the middle or something and grease those elbows
I’d love to make one of those but all I have on hand are 2x4’s and 2x6’s. 😢
If you have a table saw you can rip them down
@@Badgerworkshop Tochie! 😂
Am i the only one wondering what on earth a garden obelisk is and what its for?
Call you your video just proper decent from watching you from the start
