  • Hello and welcome to Badger Workshop. I decided to have a bit of a workshop reorganize and while I was doing it I also decorated. When everything went back together I made a new tool wall.

    I’m just getting my workshop ready, I put 9 (yes 9) 1.2m led strip lights in it. It’s like a bright sunny day in there, I reckon you should get some in there and you won’t need the special lights for filming. My workshop is 5 metres by 3 metres, so quite similar in size. Enjoy your videos Matt, cheers

    I don't know if your building would accommodate it. But I had floor space disfunction also. I took Keith Brown's idea he done in his old shed. I built low jut outs on the ends and sides of my shed. Sort of chicken nesting boxish. I store low roll around tools in them like shop vacs etc.

    Nice space, having white walls creates that sense of extra room. I'm in our garage, painted the wall shared with the house white and installed aluminised 'bubble wrap' type insulation in ceiling and on main door. Bounces a lot of light ! That wall mounted light holder is inspired.

    Great reorganisation of your workshop. Where is the camera going to be? Still on the movable tripod or do you have an other solution for that in mind as well?
    You might consider buying (or making) more (1,2 or 3) of those wall brackets for the lighting. It'll give you more flexibility for creative shots.

    I know you like to be thrifty, but do you think you'd find a long term benefit to replacing the lights with flat-panel ones instead? It would go a lot flusher to the wall that way (when not in use), and basically be less bulky, which might in turn make it easier to move around the space when filming (or not filming). Not suggesting something like an Elgato key light, same Neewer brand do some too.

    • @cricalix
      @cricalix 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, ok. Some of the LED ones can indeed be not great - either the colour temperature is wrong, or they're harsher than the softbox style because they have a crap diffuser over the LED panel. An old white sheet can sometimes help with the latter. May you find a way in the future to get space savings, and good light :)
